If you have the space in your setup and a port in your computer a cheap ish second monitor is a life saver when flicking through charts and other resources during the flight, you can also use it to have vPilot open so you can tune frequencies easier
I just found this video and I think it's really helpful and well put together! For starting out, I'd also recommend a smaller airport with less traffic - the controllers there will have more time for you and may help you through some struggles. At a large, busy airport with dozens of aircraft on the ground and in the air they will probably rather expect you to get your stuff done quickly and won't have time to accommodate tips.
Also at 5:22 it was ATIS G, not metar G. Metar is a weather report independent of ATC. The controller gives ATIS which not only contains weather info but runways in operation etc.

Which VATSIM advise would you give to me?
pick a gate near the runway so you dont have to get taxi to holding point A1 via LMJKPLA! but instead taxi to holding point A1 via L
@@newbvatpilot Yeah, I got to this thought in a few flights

@@mini2flyerauYeah, that's quite a nice idea, thanks!
Delta one... Lima one... Lima, Mike and November. I remember the taxi instructions you were struggling with XD

Rly useful video! I am gonna do my first vatsim flight soon and I am glad I watched this video. I haven´t thought about the fuel or callsign tips!
Thanks!

Ah, oops
Don't worry, you'll learn too ;)
Also for more realism most of us vatsimmers fly real life flights with their callsigns so we cant ‘come up’ with callsign and it adds realism
Yeah, but I said how I do it
For the delta 1819 part, you can also simply say ''delta one eight one niner''
Yeah, but US controllers will say 18 19 anyway 😂💀
great info, thank you!
can you please add the link to that ATC checklist?
