Sailor made Number One in the United Kingdom charts.
Beautiful song
40代の男ですが、ラジオからこの曲が流れた時、なんて素敵な歌なんだ!!と思いすぐダウンロード購入しました。
Petulaさんの歌声は永遠に我々を魅了してくれます。
I took my 6 year old daughter to see her in concert in her late 70's in Birmingham and she looked great and never missed a note! My daughter has loved her since she was a toddler!
Is it just me or does she look and sound fabulous?
She’s beautiful ❤, seen her live, remarkable singer ❤❤❤❤
I think so also ,wonderful lady, sing in fluent french
The first time I heard this song was in 1967 when it was played on armed forces rsdio and I was crew member aboard the USS CLEVELAND just off the coast of Vietnam. It was the German version recorded by⁸ Lolita. When it came on we would stop whatever we were doing and listen. It was and still is one of my favorite songs, and I still stop and listen.
Very cool story.
Wow. I haven't heard this song in many years but I remembered all the words when I started listening to her singing. Amazing!!!!!! I liked this song.
petula, what a voice love your voice and music.
Beautiful lovely spiritual song. , a little snippet of information for your viewers , when petula was a young girl , she trained and sang with a friend of mine. In Scotland , opera. , one was petula one was Julie Andrews the other was Maureen ,part of the Mackenzie clan , will not give her second name now. Observe her privacy but what a voice for opera , she never saught stardom. But she could sing anywhere , no mike , and. Hold a halls attention. , a graceful lady a true lady , my friend , god bless her , 💗🙏
The best version to date
Let´s not forget that Petula did a cover version then. And let´s give credits to the original version of the song (in German) first performed in 1960 by Austrian singer LOLITA. R.I.P
PETULA CLARK 'S VERSION DESERVED TO MAKE THE NUMBER ONE SPOT.
BECAUSE IT IS BY FAR AND AWAY THE ULTIMATE and SUPERIOR RENDITION OF THIS MAGNIFICENT CLASSIC.
Lolita: Seemann laß das träumen.. ein Everergreen

Very nice song. Many thanks
All budding singers should be shown this, as a guide that you don't have to screw your face up, like a kid being dragged away from the lollie counter, to express, wistfulness, and heartbreak.
and dont need autotune and pose half naked (not complaining about that by the way) to make a hit
My favorite P.C. song. Love her.

INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL WOMAN sings an INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL SONG.
Petula Clark :THE BEST of the best.
yep
I never heard this one before
the only thing that can match her beauty is her voice...she is still with us.....thankfully...i remember she was on the show with one of our black singers...and the producers didn't want her holding on to her black singer while doing a number together....she said i will have not of that and she took hold of him..and they got over being shocked of seeing a white singer holding on to a black singer...i thought she not only had a great voice...but she had character as well...what a great lady....i loved her singing as a teen....and i still lover her today...
That was Harry Belafonte.
❤Gudomlig vacker Gudinna fantastisk sångröst from Sweden ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I first loved this song in the original German version in 1961 by Lolita. I first heard it in English by Petula and I loved it in English as well. To hear the original in German search for Seeman by Lolita.
This is the first time I've heard this by Petula, no surprise it's great! My mom sang this to me in the early 60s, but I believe it was the release was Seaman, by a German singer?

Seeman, lass das Träumen...
British Lolita, very nice, the lyrics are changed from the original!
Everily brothers ebony eyes from
They we're the days when you had to sing to be good nowadays they just make a noise that you can't understand a word
They could come up lyrics more closely matching the German translation. Lacks the depth and meaning of the original German.
She is lip singing 🤩🤩
David Hartley: And????
But the recording is that of Petula. Copy rights and Royalties my friend.
Probably because the BBC couldn’t afford to hire the backing singers to get the same effect
Correction ..ITV not BBC
Yes you are right I always associate Cliff Richard’s TV series with the BBC thanks for correcting
cabri och amsterdam, honoluli vackert
Great cheekbones. Not so sure about the song
My Mother requested this on a radio programme he could tune into when he was away for my Father who sailed the seven seas with BP
