- I got the chance to catch up with @GregBlanchardFishing at ISE 2024. He went super in depth with the Kayak Fishing world and showed me some incredible builds. Greg was a busy man at ISE so I appreciate him taking the time to showcase his world, and give us a Bioenno Battery Breakdown for a fully loaded Kayak setup. We apologize for any shaky camera moments, the walk and talk in a Northern California Storm created some issues, but we hammered on!

I would love to see you and Greg hook up and fish together in both the boat and kayak. Since I got my kayak 3 years ago I have become a much better fisherman. Since I don't have a trolling motor it forces me to slow down and pick areas apart. To figure out how to catch them. No one better then Greg at doing that! You need to check it out. You'll have a deeper appreciation for what kayak anglers can do in a limited capacity of travel.

I have a question in regards to this and I have absolutely nothing against the kayak anglers because I’m a former kayak angler myself and I am a subscriber to Greg and love his videos. I had a 12ft Walmart brand kayak, spent $500 and loved it and I had put $100 into it and it was perfect. I wanted to open my mind a bit and ask that if someone was to spend this amount of money on a kayak, why not just invest in getting an actual boat?
A reasonably outfitted fishing kayak costs less than a 1/4 of what a bass boat costs. Plus, no fuel costs because a kayak is battery powered, I don’t have to pay storage for my kayak because it fits in my standard sized garage, and in California, I can fish any lake I want because my kayak will pass inspection. Bass boats are typically quarantined for 30 days, or fail inspection because of the quagga muscle issues.
@@alikaaeto4439 yeah I’ve got a bass boat that’s pre-rigged with a Yamaha 115 and a 80lb motorguide. I’ve already made 4 trips without having to refill the tank and it takes the regular gas cars take. I payed 36k for it. I completely understand where you’re coming from with that because all that is much easier and more cost efficient, especially with those regulations in California. My wife and I are planning to get a barn built over at our house to store the boat thankfully. I guess it just depends on the user and where they live when it comes to investing into kayaks. When I had my yak, I payed $500 for it and put a dept finder and a skeg on it, that was about it, I didn’t really need anything else. It all came to $100
I still think for some investing in a boat could also mean driving a different vehicle. Which could cost more as well.
Then there storage issues and assumed more maintenance costs.
I think Greg's number for a loaded Kayak setup is a bit low, I priced out one like he runs currently and came up with closer to $14k.

(I know, as I was new to 'Yak fishing about 8 years ago and now have 5 kayaks just FOR fishing, including a "decked-out" Titan-X like the last one you looked at. It's Very Easy to get "Wrapped-Up" and involved with anything fishing-related, I'm sure yoou know...!). Haha!

Greg is one of the most Honest 'Yak fishermen I know of (maybe that's why he "talked me into buying" my last 2 kayaks?). Lol
It CAN start getting expensive, if you know what I mean (new truck-$60,000, new Kayak-$4,000, new Garmin Graphs-$3,600, new fishing "Rigs"{poles/reels}-$1,600, new 'Yak motor/battery-$2,400, new trailer-$1,300, etc). Haha!

I don’t do tournaments but my old town min kota is hooked up! 10 inch Garmin, forward sonar, front trolling motor with gps and anchor lock, 360 seat, it’s as good as my 20 aluminum deep v.
As long as you are fishing is all that matters.
All out? $10k seems low. Kayak and big Livescope is @ $7500 alone..

Wow, it's beautiful, my heart skips a beat when I see it, unfortunately I can only dream and fish with it in my dreams, although they say dreams come true, I see it as a little distant since I don't have the money to buy one, currently. I have my mountain bike to get money and try to buy a used one, but I have not had the opportunity to make this dream come true, I have looked for someone who can sponsor me or give me one but I do not want to be bothersome, I live in Costa Rica and here it is Enjoy nature and fishing a lot, I hope to find someone who can help me fulfill this dream, again I express my admiration and fascination for this great Kayak, I would like to one day be able to have it 🥰😍🙌🙌
