Strange - everything you make ad-video of,I intentionally avoid... good things don't need full video advertising, and not your channel. It is for me not the content I expect here.... 🙄🤷♂️
its doesn’t look like a review, its a commercial. review is about personal findings, like pros and cons.
Still informative. Infomercial.
these new "reviews" that are basically just ads are supper annoying
As an all in one for someone living in a small space, this is excellent! Esp for MS users.
Great minimalist design. LG was so close with this one. Its two fatal flaws are it's only 60hz (they couldn't find a 120hz or even 90hz panel to use?) and the webcam only works with native apps. Your laptop won't recognize the webcam when it's connected via USB-C, which was a really odd decision by LG. If the the panel had just a modest increase in native refresh rate and the webcam had Windows Hello and could be utilized by connected devices, LG really would have had an offering unique in the space.
LG’s version of the Samsung M8. Waiting for this one as I prefer WebOS over Tizen
Also Samsung m8 is a VA panel not IPS like this one
New 34” is out
One thing i always liked about monitors is that they just simply work and are not smart
4k at 32 inches?!?! I know they refuse to talk about the resolution of the monitor until late in the video, which was suspicious right off the bat, but this is far worse than I expected it to be.
What's wrong with 4k at 32 inches? That's the perfect resolution for a lot of people, especially for gaming purposes. It has a PPI of around 140, which makes text pretty sharp and pixels not noticeable. FWIW, I have an OLED 4K at 32 inches myself, and it's like night and day compared to my older 27 inch 2k screen.
Can you tell us if the Mac fonts are clean and detailed? I’ve tried many monitors but none do a great job of scaling Mac fonts like the iMac or Studio Display. Please let us know!
My LG OLED TV does a good job, so I reckon their monitors should do well too!
Try BetterDisplay, it's a freemium utility that lets you change hidden settings on your display. I have a BenQ gaming monitor 1440p currently using it at 1152p HiDPI and it's a great complement to my internal MBP display/
For that, you need a 27-inch display at 5K or a 32-inch display at 6K, which are crazily expensive.
This won't be as sharp as those, but it will still be sharp when scaled compared to a QHD display of the same size.
BTW, anyone missing 23" 4K (200dpi) displays? Personal, 27" feels a bit big for me, but nobody seem to make high DPI 23/24 inch displays nowadays...
Well, Apple does, but it comes with a computer. You can put an Apple Silicon iMac in target display mode to switch the input.
Bc 23/24 too small…for most ppl. I have been using 27 4k for 6 years and bought a 32 4k yesterday. 200 ppi kinda overkill tbh. 27 4k 160ppi are good enough. I’d like 5k for 32 though, but 4k ain’t that bad for 32 either. Only 4k 24 inch is apple imac
I have a 24" mid-tier Samsung 4K behind my MacBook Air, connected via USB-C-to-DisplayPort. Works great other than the limited colorspace.
same as iphone minis, I love it but people prefer to have ridiculously sized items now
@@jchi6822 23”? Def no. Way too small to work on.
LCD 60Hz, 400nit ... big no no no. ASUS ROG PG32UCDM or MSI MPG 321URX QD-OLED .... I know, double the price, but 10 times better monitor.
Agreed. I recently got an Alienware e2” QD-OLED monitor and it’s so much better. Especially if you care about gaming.
All of these monitors are completely different markets to the one in the video, whats the point in even comparing them?
Hi Max! Does it work properly with the Mac Studio ? Thx a ton
@@ismatec why wouldn’t it
I know this is an ad… but super relevant. I’m weighing this agains the LG monitor that’s geared for eye strain
Personally, I don't like "smart". I prefer a monitor that is just that ... a display.
Totally agree! If I want a smart screen I will use an smart TV. A monitor should be that, just a monitor.
Agreed! 👍🏻
in some case, stupid monitor is better than smart monitor
So why watch videos about them😂
Yes!😊
A fire stick on ur monitor is.... $20 or so. How much for the stick to not be dangling in the back? an extra.....100? 300? what's justifiable?
(I understand this monitor is more than a smart monitor, i'm just talking about this feature...)
Here's an honest review from someone who bought the thing:
BAD
- the Google/Office suite integration is slow and bad. Takes 1min to load gmail.
- you have to turn on / off the monitor like a TV separately, it doesn't automatically turn on / off like a normal PC monitor.
- camera doesn't come in the package in EU
GOOD
- Good monitor,
- stable foot,
- minimalist, fits nicely into an IKEA desk setup with wood/white style
- tried connecting to GeForce now & PS5 controller, seems to work for the time being
have not tested: Connecting this to Bluetooth speakers for nice sound.
I'm not sure if there's a difference between what we're doing. But I have a Windows computer connected via HDMI, and a Mac connected via USB-C Upstream, and they both wake the monitor when I wake the computer. Also, when I turn off or lock the computer, the monitor falls asleep within seconds. I bought it last week so maybe I just got lucky with an update cycle, but these problems seem to be no more.
I think macos fonts will be either too big or always blurred with this kind of resolution/DPI
True. We are kind of stuck with 5k monitors.
BetterDisplay fixes that. Currently using a Gigabyte 32MU for work (Spreadsheets, emails, etc) and it's pretty great.
@@jchi6822 or you change the scaling. I don’t understand this. 4K is perfect connected to Mac’s.
@@jchi6822 looks great on my 43” LG scaled to 3200x1800 from normal
Viewing distance.
@@77dris how so?
Would be interesting to see Apple do this with the Studio display. Run iPad or tv OS on its A-series processor. Charge $1999 for it. Very Apple.
Portrait mode for phones? If only it rotated. I’m looking for a monitor for my TikTok lives. Need a portrait capabilities. In my search I was linked to this monitor and I was incredibly pumped cause I thought it was the one lol.
Any suggestions? Preferably not a 600-1k suggestion lol
Anyway. This monitor is sweet no matter what. It could have been the ULTIMATE
Same models in India, doesn't come with office 365. And , webcam is not included in the package.
Sooooo… the Samsung M8?
@@SweetSweetCandyBoyz but at least LG won’t send a repair tech that damages your tv so they don’t have to warranty it
@@daillengineer that’s true, haha
It's rubbish, never used one but we all know samsung cant make monitors...
Try cheaper M7…
I love the extra u can get for this 4k 32 inch. But at 500 USD (700 CAD in canada) makes it 300 more than 32UP83A that i bought make it too much for these extra features. Good to have, but not worth almost 2x the price.
I am trying to decide between a smart monitor vs a dumb monitor + google chromecast.. I only wanna be able to watch on Netflix and TH-cam… I don’t want a TV coz I want to be able to use it to connect my laptop for work as well…
Does it have PIP (picture in picture)? View two computers at the same time?
This is a good refresh from last years model which was only 1080p 60!!!
I bought LG 32SR83U-W and if I connect it to my laptop with the cable below, will the monitor's camera work in Zoom meeting app?
Gonna need an ultrawide variant.
Also curious about the floor stand featured in other videos. Minimal living and all
What in the Samsung??
M7 or M8
32" 4K... that gives us a very very bad pixel density. In the "bad zone". External displays for Macs should be 218 PPI and you can only get that in this way...
24" 4,5K
27" 5K
32" 6K
This one from LG is for Windows users.
I'm sorry if I've crushed some dreams but just google this and educate yourself about pixel density.
There's a lot I don't like Apple for but Apple is so good about pixel density for their displays. And that's about always using the right density.
And why does MacBooks have higher PPI than desktop Macs? Because of the viewing distance difference and it's also a compromise. You cannot have a larger display than 15-16" in a MacBook so that's a way to fit a little bit more content but the main reason is the shorter viewing distance.
But just imagine this 32" LG with 6K instead of 4K... that would have been so nice!!!
4k at 32 inches is 140 PPI. That's not bad honestly and more PPI than what most monitors are now in the market, except for 4k 27 inch monitors. Apple screens are outliers in the industry. I personally have an 4k 32 inch OLED and I can say text is sharp on it. Yes, it can be sharper if you use a retina display, but if you really want that high of a resolution, then your only choice are Apple displays currently, and those screens go for at least triple the price of this one. You then have to wonder if it's already sharp enough and if the Apple premium pricing is worth its cost, and in my opinion, this is sharp enough for most uses for most people.
Does it support Daisy Chaining ?
other than MagSafe 3 having a 5th pin, it looks like it would attach to that camera.
friend make a video of the samsung m8 monitor vs the lg 32sr85u-w
How much is it ?
This monitor seems interesting, I wonder how cloud gaming within the monitor is like. (GeForce NOW)
I wonder how much data LG can harvest and sell with this thing…
Does it support multi user?
What's the PPI?
@@lenn55 pixels per inch
How is the display on mutliple screens?
Still no 5K for Mac users…
@@PhillyZibit why do you need 5k
@@daillengineer You‘re a windows user. You wouldn’t understand since you have never experienced perfectly rendered text on a high res screen. ;)
@@PhillyZibit I’ve been a Mac user for 16 years, professor.
Is it ips panel or also tn like the m8? View angles are very terrible
Ips with amazing viewing angles. The M8 is VA not TN
Nice monitor, thanks for sharing
I need a 43” monitor with PIP/PBP…LG has one but apparently they won’t be updating it anytime soon 🙄
Does the Mac keyboard control brightness and volume?
Ngl the internet service was kinda interesting to me, even though it lacks other features. But I see this feature as a win considering it wasn't in any devices before (cmiiw)
QD Oled monitors are now good
can I play ps5 on this monitor
32" 4k. That's all.
My first monitor was from LG
No oled lmao
Too bad - 4K is a non starter for me, a mac user.
What? Why?
@@daillengineer scaling
@@davids4610 what scaling issues? I’ve been using 4K for years.
@@daillengineer I'm accustomed to 5K and not willing to scale down to a non mac resolution, lose screen real estate, etc. pretty simple.
@@daillengineeryes, lot’s of people don’t know about scaling issue. For me a 27” monitor must be 5K.
