    kings lynn 1973 mike was a little boy riding after the meeting, we all knew on the terraces at saddlebow he would go the distance and he didn't let us down, a speedway genius you were michael

    I used to go watch this stuff when I was a kid and I sure miss it. They need to bring it back. These bikes are so cool. Unlike the fat wheel AFT bikes they run today.

    I went round to Michael's gaff in Suffolk with a mutual friend probably 30 years ago.
    Though at the time my pal told me he was a former speedway champion as I've never been a fan of the sport I didn't realise he was actually a world champion till watching this just now, wowsers 😮

    The media etc talk about Michael,s wasted talent etc.....World Champion and World Longtrack Champion.....hardly wasted talent.....agree Mike could have achieved more titles but he achieved so much at a young age he was bound to get fed up with it all eventually....in saying that never saw anyone quicker when in the mood.....

    First Westlake engine I ever brought was an ex Michael lee TSR Westlake , man did that thing fly

    Remember seeing Mike at Bellevue riding for Boston must have been 76/77. I think.
