I love how they portrayed it more as an intense emotional battle between each other rather than a romantic love song. Especially since this part in the play comes after Raoul just beat the phantom in the graveyard and the phantom plans to kidnap Christine during the performance while Christine plans to trap the phantom during the performance.
I honestly don't think Christine really wanted to capture him, you can tell she just wanted answers from him.
She was enthralled by the phantoms mystery hence why she always seemed entranced practically every time he sang, she doesn't separate herself from him the moment she exposes him. Rather she gives him a pitied look and simply stands there, urgh okay I'll stop ranting (≧▽≦)

As a student of acting and theatre, I would pay big money to see these two performing this play together in a metal version. The chemistry between these two and the tension just by watching the video shows that they would absolutely nail an actual play together as co stars.

It's a cool concept. I'd love to see a metal version of the musical where Christine starts off very angelic and pure in her voice, and by the end her voice flips between pure and more rock/metal sounds bleeding in. It would be cool because even though in the end she renounces the Phantom, it will be evident that he has still permanently imprinted himself into her voice.

For me, Anthony Warlow is my second pick. He is pretty great as the Phantom in PotO, his voice just uniquely resonates like in Jekyll & Hyde and Fiddler on the Roof (still nothing beats Chaim Topol though), but John Owen Jones is pretty good too.

@@011inashinytardis2 I think it's called a lasso in the musical. I remember they called it a "magical lasso" in the soundtrack Mom got me when I was a kid. I've never seen it, but I've memorized pretty much everything that was in the soundtrack's booklet. Madame Giry scolds the stage hand (I can't remember his name) for talking about it with the chorus girls - he's later killed by the Phantom and his body is put on display to disrupt the show.
