The original was a cry of despair in a moment of darkness. This seems more of a scream of rage against injustice. Weirdly enough, it works pretty well.
Well it was also injustice in the original. It starts showing the slaves building. Slavery injustice. Then the slaughter of the women and children of another tribe that surviviors would be the next generation of slaves. Murder, infanticide, slavery... injustice.
That is true. I didn't hear these songs since I was a child and did not understand most of the concepts, but now I started to cry listening that lullaby because I just understood fully the sadness of that one sentence.
I just learned that the woman who sang the song in English also sang it in 15 other languages five which she spoke because the animator after seeing her went back and made her character look like her and she was flattered.
@@ronswasonbutcuter4474 yeah, its terrible. This happened to some people in the 1980s and 1990s. Sometimes the doctors accidentally gave the wrong blood to a person, or gave blood from a person sick with AIDS and they did not know. What's worse is that these people who were given the bad blood were thought to have gotten AIDS or HIV from having sex with homosexual people. No matter if they told other people that they got it accidentally from a hospital. They were not believed and were thought to be gay and so many people didnt want to be around them.
I just watched Prince Of Egypt for the first time yesterday. I am amazed that it took me this long before seeing it, but I was absolutely blown away at the sheer majesty and scale of this epic story that was a theatre performance in disguise.
Currently pregnant with my second baby and sitting next to my sleeping three year old and I’m telling you I’m t h i s close to breaking down into atoms from the imagined pain
i've seen this happening already to those Ukrainian fathers saying goodbye to their children and wives. Now that China is starting to be aggressive, i fear for my country right below Taiwan.
There's such a huge difference between you two. You look so sad by the story, Jon looks enraged by it. It's quite a striking contrast and really adds beauty to the song.
@@king-fool I was going to say it's both sides of the mother, saddened by the loss of her baby and angered at the man who gave the order. But yours works better
Being an ardent Catholic Christian myself, I watched this movie with my family this Sunday. My sister didn't want it at first, as she thought it would be a cheap, boring Biblical movie. By the end of the opening she was already crying her heart out at this masterpiece, along with all of us.
This movie is beautiful! A drawing that can make me cry. That song also makes me cry. All because I know the story. Amazingly, I picked up the album today to listen to and cried all day. When I heard the rumors of the movie and its soundtrack, I waited with bated breath. Anyway, I am here because I have been looking for a cover of this song. Sorry, my english is not so good.
I appreciate this movie despite being an atheist (Catholic deconvert, actually). It is a masterpiece and has something to say beyond religion, in my opinion. Not to mention the music, animation, voice-acting and screenplay are amazing.
This has to be one of the songs with the saddest stories in that movie, I cried the first time I watched that. Thank you, guys, for doing this song, this really brought my childhood rushing back.
brad sander the movie is from the bible, history tell if you don't have faith is that it existed one guy around mose time who had the egyptian name translated means " Adopted. ". Anyway my point, they were slaves over egyptians back in the day.
Gin SilverCat I know that, I was simply stating that the way it was portrayed in the movie made me more emotional than it did when I read it in the bible, because you could see moses’ mother’s emotions, as well as the ones of the slaves themselves. I know they were slaves, I don’t think anyone here didn’t know that, I was just saying how well the song captured the slaves’ torment.
I would say do more broadway/musical songs, then? You could show off those pipes more. You did Confrontation from Jekyll and Hyde ages ago. why not do "Alive" from the same show. Hyde had all the best long notes and operatic bars in the show.
Caleb Hyles you are truly amazing. Prince of Egypt is and always will be my favorite movie. After all I was born 1998😂😂. But fr tho you have given me more of a reason to persue my music career. Thank for this cover. You have given me inspiration
This is really excellent. Metal is a genre so well suited to express raw, intense emotions like grief, rage and despair, and also feelings like fierce devotion (a parent's love of their child in the face of deadly threats) and a hope that refuses to die even in the midst of the most wretched anguish. This performance conveys those emotions with power, authenticity and eloquence.
DreamWorks is the rebellion of the corporate suffering Disney has put everyone involved in the film industry through. And gives badasses inspiration for some of the best songs known to man.
@@todietootoo oh my god, Sinbad is still one of my favorite movies! It feels like it could be a companion movie to the Pirates of the Caribbean franchise (which I also love).
Movie version: "God have mercy on us! forgive us and take us away from this horrible place! to the place you promised us! we wish only to be free from these shackles!" Caleb/Jon version: "What have we done to deserve this?!?! You promised us freedom and gave us chains! our people bleed for Egypt and you do not answer our prayers?!?! Why have you forsaken us! you guys did a fantastic job with the emotions portrayed in your version. You arent copying it directly. Your essentially showing us the other emotions that were felt. Seriously great job guys.
Armand Steenkamp no, but I have investigated about the topic. I used to read papers and the likes. What can I say, once I wanted to become an archaeologist
Kerel Bloodsson Hey man go for it, sorry i was mean i know everyone has different beliefs and have different views on how evidence should back up those beliefs :)
I just noticed: caleb moves the most while singing, showing a massive amount of emotion. Jonathan, moves little, but makes up for it with his facial expressions. Both ways are filled with passion, but reflect the way they carry themselves, both in song and personality. This seems to fit with most of their collabs
My father read the bible to is for years. It was generally my nap time. That movie learned me more then all the hours after dinner sitting and napping.
i cried so hard. As a mother this part of the movie always makes me cry. You gotta know how that just killed her and you do a great job putting the emotion and feeling behind her part. I'm very impressed.
I actually love that Jonathan sings the first part of the “mother part of the song”. You’d say that Caleb would be better for this whole part. His softer voice is perfect for the second bit, don’t get me wrong but Jonathan’s dark voice saying “my son there is nothing I can give, but the chance that you may live”... I don’t know why but it gave me goosebumps. It broke my heart and made it whole again. The whole song is one of my favourites, but that piece... the Hebrew with that sentence... I can listen to that over and over again. And then the two of them again together... I can’t. I need to listen again.
Johnathan singing the first part is as if it was Moses' father singing that part instead of his mother. Imagine how hard it would be for a man in that time to not only accept his feelings like that, but to accept the fact that his son HAS to be let go or be killed. That could kill him.
His pronunciation is a touch... well, he pronounces "My son, the good and the soft" as "My son, the good and the bad" because he didn't quite get the consonant right (it's an uncommon sound in English), but we know what he's trying to say, and he puts his heart into it.
@@IliadicI don't think there was a tradition among most peoples of the time of men being so stoic they wouldn't cry for grief or loss. Stories before this one and after are full of people crying, screaming, falling to the ground, pacing restlessly, etc. when they experience something that justifies those reactions. Likewise with singing and dancing in celebration when the occasion justified it. I don't know if the whole "women can be emotional but men have to be stoic and unflappable" thing in Europe and central Asia comes specifically from the Greeks or if they got it from somewhere else (maybe Egypt, who knows), but the Hebrews, from their folklore, seemed pretty warm to the idea of men having emotional life in public.
@@thou_dog agreed. I'm assuming it probably came from Greek stoicism, because the Hebrew society was very receptive to men expressing emotion. John 11:35, is one of the biggest examples. And also, the Hebrew language does not attribute very many traits to female or male. It's generally about the individual. Traits are for the individual, or for the whole. For example, the word for beautiful, in hebrew, is genderless. in a language that has genders for several things, a genderless word to describe visual pleasure is unique.
This is stunning 😍😍😍 The cinematography starting at 1:36 took my breath away and only got better as it continued. I was super impressed with Jon's vocals too. Caleb, keep being awesome, you knocked this one out of the park ❤
For me, the best part is when they go: "Elohim! God up high! Can't you hear your people cry!? Help us NOW! On this dark hour... Deliver us! Hear our call, deliver us! Lord of all, remember us here in this burning sand! Deliver us! There's a land YOU PROMISED US!" This song is a cry of despair and at the same time, it is an accusation. They are straight up screaming at the heavens in rage and despair because of their torment and that can be felt in the lyrics. This cover really conveys that properly. Awesome work as always.
Alright, you guys did amazing. I recently listened to the movie version, then this came out. And dang the emotions are so different, but equally fitting, between versions. The movie version makes me feel sympathy for the people and their family. It makes me hopeful that the singers will be freed. But this, this makes me feel a part of it the event. I feel anger and sorrow, a bit of fight in me. I think it's the visuals you present and the power in your voices, the sorrow and rage in expressions
@Maria Fernanda Oh hey I went from Catholic to Agnostic too. I'm in agreement with you, the movie and music are enjoyable regardless of religious beliefs. I can say though I love the efforts Caleb and Jon went to to make the song more universal, and it is incredible they managed to make it so given the song's original context.
Eh, I guess.... Honestly though, no matter what you do with this song... I think it's going to be nearly impossible to remove from that context. This story was meant to tell a story, and even with the change up in the visuals... it still tells that same story. I understand where they were going with it, but I'm not sure that particular mission was accomplished (I'm not sure it -CAN- be accomplished), even so. It's a beautiful cover of an amazing song.
(Israeli here) The correct Hebrew lyrics for Jonathan's solo (at 1:39-1:48): ילדי הטוב והרך, אל תירא ואל תפחד It translates (roughly) to: My good and gentle child, Do not dread and do not fear Thanks for this fantastic cover!

Send a shepherd to shepherd us, And deliver us to the promised land! Deliver us To the promised land! Deliver us…! (Sorry if I made any mistakes, but I couldn’t find the lyrics in the comments section)
the hebrew part is "yaldi hatov v-harah, al' tiphad v-al' tirah" (I've tried) and it means "my sweet and soft child, do not be frightened, do not fear" ("tirah" and "tiphad" both mean "fear", they're basically synonyms)
Your lyrics on the 4th "deliver us" passage are incorrect. It should read: Deliver us, There's a land you promised us! Deliver us Out of bondage and Deliver us to the promised land.
This is one of my favorite songs from Prince of Egypt. To see both you and Jonathan do a cover of it together makes it that much more awesome. You guys rock. I loved this so much. You're both talented guys and you're awesome!!! Rock on!!! \m/
As a jew who lives in Israel, a 18 and half years old person and is close with my people's past this movie means so much to me, but didn't had me in tears. Hearing this cover however, made me both to be excited and sad at the same time. Well done Caleb! An amazing cover ❤️

I've always thought that Moses's story is one of the most metal things i've read. gets thrown into river full of alligators because the other option was getting murdered ends up living as an adopted child of the same man who ordered the mass baby murdering ends up fleeing and almost dies on the desert somehow survives thanks to random people he had the choice to rape at some point, but didnt his god appears before him in the form of a god damn burning tree (thats metal AF) comes back to his stop brother and orders him to free his people because burning tree god said so has his staff turn into a god damn cobra that eats other two snakes like its no big deal then uses said staff to turn an entire river into FUCKING BLOOD releases all kinds of shit on his step-brother because he didnt follow with his burning tree god sent demands kills his step-nephew in the process summons a mother fucking wall of fire to stop his step brother in his dead-son murdering rage orders the FUCKING SEA TO OPEN drowns those who persue his people because fuck you, thats why (his step brother included) goes to his burning tree god that uses FUCKING LIGHTNING to carve stones with 10 commandments because thats metal as fuck (no other reason really) if that's not metal to you, i have no idea what is.
Tony Storm i have to agree, i always thought this song as one of the strongest Dreamworks ever made... the only thing this story as a whole lacks is a bunch of fathers going full Leonidas against the Pharaoh's soldiers to give the mothers time to get as many babies away as possible.. hearing the last few spoken verses in a mans voice closed the deal for my part.. Stroking his youngest sons brow: "my son, i have nothing i can give. Except this chance that you may live.." before picking up a pickaxe or something and joining a bunch of other fathers and ex-fathers.. Am i making sense in any way?...
You two are amazing! Just... That's some classy acting. You both express the despair in different ways - Caleb looks like he's using the last of his strength to keep the hope alive, whereas Jonathan seems to have no hope or strength anymore and he's just staying alive. Your version of this song gives me chills, words cannot express how talented you are!
YEEEES, literally instant goosebumps. You two are my favourite and this is such an underrated soundtrack, every song is amazing. Wonderful job as always~
This song never fails to give me chills, especially the River Lullaby section. One of the best soundtracks I've ever seen. Deliver Us, Plagues, and Playing with the Big Boys have been mainstays on my writing playlist for years
it is not... its from 1998 and still nowdays people are going crazy over covers from it. Id not call that underrated. Im from spain, and like 4 years ago there was a play on the local theater made by highschoolers pretty decent and produced over a year making this film
Five years later -- still the best version of this song. Arrangement of the instruments is powerful but not obnoxious or overshadowing the vocals -- and those vocal performances are just amazing. Thanks to both of you for this. Definitely stands the test of time.
Good gods, gentlemen. This is another eyelashes-fluttering-eyes-rolling-up-in-my-head-shivers-down-my-spine sort of song. I adore the music in PoE to begin with, and you two always bring it to another level entirely. This gave me 4 and a half minutes of peace during a time when it's hard to find much of any. ♥
As a jewish, Israeli, and rock/metal sick...you guys deliver that amazing song divinely....absolutely amazing...and honored...keep the good work...and know you have fans in Israel as well m/(>.
You know, I had a dream once. But when I awoke, I found my nation at war with itself. Its core principals belittled, and its people divided. I tried to stand firm in my beliefs and works that things would get better, but they did not, and I dwindled. I watched as people turned against one another over desires rather than seek the truth, which would have given them hope, and it bent my spirit in twain. I watched, as unprincipled men stood and laughed, as they watched people suffer. I myself suffered great pains even in watching this come to pass. I tried to stand up, only to be told to be silent, unless I paid a tax. I tried to give all I had only to have everything taken, without second thought, or recompense. I was forced to watch as people were tortured in their own beds for what people believed to be fighting for their freedom, but the journey was a lie, and that we stole that freedom from them to give only onto onto an endless beast that will never stop consuming. I watched as magicians and great liars caused men and women to stray from the truth, only to be left bereft of any and all good things, and then; they moved onto the next. In my anger, I sought out a solution, which was abused. I sought to bring people the justice and goodness they craved, but I was mocked, threatened and my sense of justice was circumvented by people who were afraid and my judgements were blocked, or stolen from me. Depressed and angry I gave into my despair and anger and hatred has consumed much of my life. But it was our grief that led me to the truth that society as a whole, is not well. So I asked for help, only to be belittled by small men who thought themselves fit to be leaders. So I called out to my God and cried out to him in bitterness and agony and swore many vengeful things against him in my un-understanding, but he did not leave me, and promised me, that if I believed, I shall not die. But I began to see the world for what it really is and what it has become, as I was guided to the truth to give standing to mankind, and a final warning. So I turned away from mankind to find the Son and to try his truth to see if he was a liar, but he was not and for once in my life I was happy to be wrong. The truth, had become like a stone, tied to my neck, and my thoughts were and still are, heavy. The son of Mankind, will return to us and reunite us as a species. This is the second great awakening, said by a man, likened unto the son of man. Because I have walked his path and in the end, who will stand against this great beast, whos number is 666. If you are no longer bear the truth, then I will bear it for you, and I will pass judgement against these people for I bear his records of the truth and they are WITHOUT fault. However I ask that the people of this planet come together one final time while I compile the information required to create these changes. They are listed here on my facebook page.
The power that you gave this song is absolutely stunning and chilling. It nearly brought me to tears the first time I heard it because this song has so much religious significance to me and you gave it such a force and power that I could hardly comprehend. Thank you and Johnathan for making this. It has given this song a whole new meaning for me.
This goes far beyond an eargasm. It's like my brain has been swaddled by the raw power of two harmonious voices, spreading throughout my cranium in a cascade of intense tingling and pure emotion. I feel like I'm on a high that has no end in sight and already I crave more of this divine duo.
I love it when two different youtubers you’ve subscribed to meet and join forces, and I’ve noticed this happening a lot recently. But you two might be my favorite partnering up
"These years of slavery grow too cruel to stand!" 2:07 Best line in the whole song, More people should be talking about it. This movie is a cinematic masterpiece.
Holy... I don't know how the two of you did it. But you actually managed to capture all of the despair and hopelessness and heartbreak that is this song. And maybe it's because I'm older now than when I first heard it, but your version managed to reach me where the original did not. Fantastic, FANTASTIC cover.
Fun Fact: In the original story of Moses, he wasn't set adrift into the river but rather hidden behind some reeds with his sister guarding him. The plan was to wait until after the slaughter before bringing him back home, but the Pharoh's daughter found baby Moses and decided to keep him. The sister asked for her mother to be hired as a wetnurse (I guess they didn't think Egyptian milk would sustain a Hebrew baby), so Moses didn't officially leave his mother until he was more grown. This led to Moses developing a nervous stutter, which is why he was so hesitant to be selected by God.
Exodus 2:3-5, though I'm not sure that was the plan, exodus 2:2 tells us she was already was hiding him for 3 months, meaning the slaughter was going on for atleast 3 months at that point with no sign of stopping. but yes, movies gona drama it up and send a baby in a basket surfing and croc wrangling XD
There are times when Caleb bows his head, and his are slightly squinted, that his eyes look entirely black and I dare say demonic in the most eerie way.
Caleb singing the lullaby part was truly moving. That part in the movie was always beautiful to me when I was younger. Now, listening to it as a mother it takes on a whole new meaning. Well done guys!

God this song gives me chills everytime, it's so good. In the movie it was like they were desperate, sad and afraid, calling for help and asking for what they were promised. And in this version it's like they're tired of it, angry, asking for what was rightfully theirs that wasn't given to them. That's some powerful stuff right there
Your guys version of the Plague got me into rewatching The Prince of Egypt again and I couldn’t wait to see if you would do another song from them! Great work again!
the Prince of Egypt was my childhood movie that both scared me, made me cry, and had me wanting to watch again afterwards. I almost started crying, you both have so much emotion and convey the song so well, especially Caleb when you sang the mother's part, I fell apart. thank you for doing this!
This is a fucking metal cover yet it still brings tears to my eyes regardless because no matter the tone or background music this song still gets me, which is why it's a masterpiece when a metal cover of it still makes you cry like the original version.
You two are shiny golden gods. Thank you so much for what you do! When I become moderately less poor I'll be supporting you both on Patreon to the best of my ability. You've no idea how much your silly music does for me during these hard times.
This comment makes me wanna hear them sing "It's Tough To Be A God". I know Jonathan has done some covers of #The Road To El Dorado", but I don't think he's done that.
Ok but why did this come at the PERFECT time? I’ve been reliving my childhood and binging this album. So good. I mean... this just gave a whole new since of epicness to this song.
Think we can get a cover of Through Heaven's Eyes? I think you would do an amazing job, Caleb. As always, keep up the awesome work! Both Jonathan and yourself are spectacular!
Not a religious person (I do respect other's beliefs regardless... so long as they don't use them as means to hurt others, that is), but I ADORE this movie. Makes me super emotional every time. It's so, so good.

There's such a huge difference between you two. You look so sad by the story, Jon looks enraged by it. It's quite a striking contrast and really adds beauty to the song.
I love contrasts like that. It makes singing a true story telling method

@@MariaSilvaHelena The most Brazilian thing ever is to speak perfect English and then apologise for how bad it is.

Still gives me chills to date, and I'm 22.

I just noticed: caleb moves the most while singing, showing a massive amount of emotion. Jonathan, moves little, but makes up for it with his facial expressions. Both ways are filled with passion, but reflect the way they carry themselves, both in song and personality. This seems to fit with most of their collabs
I freaking love how intense Caleb's expressions are and then how calm Jonathan's is!!

i cried so hard.
@@Iliadic Adjectives in general don't have gender, though.
FINALLY YOU DID IT OH MY GOD.
Long time coming ;) Read the description for more details on the process!
I had to take a moment before listening to prepare for the pure awesomeness of this!
This is stunning 😍😍😍
The cinematography starting at 1:36 took my breath away and only got better as it continued. I was super impressed with Jon's vocals too.
Caleb, keep being awesome, you knocked this one out of the park ❤
Shiloh 24601 the camerawork is absolutely incredible, agreed!
For me, the best part is when they go:
"Elohim! God up high! Can't you hear your people cry!?
Help us NOW! On this dark hour...
Deliver us! Hear our call, deliver us!
Lord of all, remember us here in this burning sand!
Deliver us! There's a land YOU PROMISED US!"
This song is a cry of despair and at the same time, it is an accusation. They are straight up screaming at the heavens in rage and despair because of their torment and that can be felt in the lyrics. This cover really conveys that properly.
Awesome work as always.
The best honey.
I kept playing that part over and over and over and over and over...
Wow
Alright, you guys did amazing. I recently listened to the movie version, then this came out. And dang the emotions are so different, but equally fitting, between versions. The movie version makes me feel sympathy for the people and their family. It makes me hopeful that the singers will be freed.
But this, this makes me feel a part of it the event. I feel anger and sorrow, a bit of fight in me. I think it's the visuals you present and the power in your voices, the sorrow and rage in expressions
Thank you for that, Rose! :)
Anytime, Caleb! Thanks for the awesome music you post!
Well said.
@Maria Fernanda
Oh hey I went from Catholic to Agnostic too.

The correct Hebrew lyrics for Jonathan's solo (at 1:39-1:48):

I've always thought that Moses's story is one of the most metal things i've read.
gets thrown into river full of alligators because the other option was getting murdered
ends up living as an adopted child of the same man who ordered the mass baby murdering
ends up fleeing and almost dies on the desert
somehow survives thanks to random people he had the choice to rape at some point, but didnt
his god appears before him in the form of a god damn burning tree (thats metal AF)
comes back to his stop brother and orders him to free his people because burning tree god said so
has his staff turn into a god damn cobra that eats other two snakes like its no big deal
then uses said staff to turn an entire river into FUCKING BLOOD
releases all kinds of shit on his step-brother because he didnt follow with his burning tree god sent demands
kills his step-nephew in the process
summons a mother fucking wall of fire to stop his step brother in his dead-son murdering rage
orders the FUCKING SEA TO OPEN
drowns those who persue his people because fuck you, thats why (his step brother included)
goes to his burning tree god that uses FUCKING LIGHTNING to carve stones with 10 commandments because thats metal as fuck (no other reason really)
if that's not metal to you, i have no idea what is.

Why did Moses make the Midianite genocide?
I'm crying for the poor souls that dont know this exists

The power that you gave this song is absolutely stunning and chilling. It nearly brought me to tears the first time I heard it because this song has so much religious significance to me and you gave it such a force and power that I could hardly comprehend. Thank you and Johnathan for making this. It has given this song a whole new meaning for me.
First time I heard it I got goosebumps all over. And then those goosebumps developed their own goosebumps
I admit, I cried when this scene came up on the movie. It broke my heart to see Moses' mother having to send him away just so he could live.
This goes far beyond an eargasm. It's like my brain has been swaddled by the raw power of two harmonious voices, spreading throughout my cranium in a cascade of intense tingling and pure emotion. I feel like I'm on a high that has no end in sight and already I crave more of this divine duo.
zexnon you must be a great storyteller wow! My feelings are out into words!
I love it when two different youtubers you’ve subscribed to meet and join forces, and I’ve noticed this happening a lot recently. But you two might be my favorite partnering up
"These years of slavery grow too cruel to stand!" 2:07
Best line in the whole song,
More people should be talking about it.
Prince of Egypt soundtrack: 10/10
Prince of Egypt soundtrack covered by Caleb and Jonathan: 1000000000/10

Oh my god yes please!
You must be pleased
Please make this happen!
grant1234567ify they made it! go search it up, definitely not disappointed
Luna Kehrer Dude I was gonna say, it was an amazing shot
It's like the coolest shit ever, my dude.
Them dark brown eyes :)
What do you mean I've been sitting here for hours? Mom that's ridiculous!! Haha...

Caleb singing the lullaby part was truly moving. That part in the movie was always beautiful to me when I was younger. Now, listening to it as a mother it takes on a whole new meaning. Well done guys!
Caleb: River... deliver... him THERE
River: SHEESH OKAY
Lyrics:
(Caleb and Johnathan)
Mud!
Sand!
Water!
Straw!
Faster!
Mud! And lift!
Sand! And pull!
Water! And raise up!
Straw!
Faster!
Feel the sting of the whip on my shoulder
With the salt of my sweat on my brow
Elohim, God on high, can you hear your people cry?
Help us now!
This dark hour.
Deliver us!
Hear our call, deliver us!
Lord of all, remember us here in this burning sand!
Deliver us! There's a land you promised us!
Deliver us to the promised land.
(Johnathan)
Yaldi hatov ve'harach
Al tira ve'al tifh'ad
My son, I have nothing I can give
But this chance that you may live
I pray we'll meet again if He will deliver us!
(Caleb and Johnathan)
Deliver us!
Hear our prayer, deliver us!
From these famished years as slaves, we've grown too old to stand
Deliver us! There's a land you promised us!
Deliver us from the bondage and
Deliver us to the promised land.
(Caleb)
Hush now, my baby, be still love, don't cry
Sleep as you're rocked by the stream
Sleep and remember my last lullaby
So I'll be with you when you dream
River, oh river, flow gently for me!
Such precious cargo you bear!
Do you know somewhere he can be free?
River, deliver him there...
(Caleb and Johnathan)
Deliver us! Send a shepherd to shepherd us!
And deliver us to the promised land!
Deliver us to the promised land!
Deliver us!
*listens intently to MANLY singing*
DAMN IT I JUST SHAVED MY BEARD!!!!!
Better go get the weed trimmer.....
God this song gives me chills everytime, it's so good. In the movie it was like they were desperate, sad and afraid, calling for help and asking for what they were promised.
And in this version it's like they're tired of it, angry, asking for what was rightfully theirs that wasn't given to them.
That's some powerful stuff right there
This was my favorite song in Prince of Egypt, and somehow...
You made it even better, kutos to you good sirs.
Kudos, also they make every song better.
Yeah they do, also I love your name
I'm sorry but this will never beat the original. Ofra Haza's voice simply cannot be topped.
Your guys version of the Plague got me into rewatching The Prince of Egypt again and I couldn’t wait to see if you would do another song from them! Great work again!
You should also see their cover of "Playing With the Big Boys Now"
the Prince of Egypt was my childhood movie that both scared me, made me cry, and had me wanting to watch again afterwards.
Take all the time you need, friend :) Your support by just watching our videos is enough ♥
D Schean ... I agree 100%!! I've been waiting to hear them do this!!!!
This comment makes me wanna hear them sing "It's Tough To Be A God". I know Jonathan has done some covers of #The Road To El Dorado", but I don't think he's done that.
+Jutland Angel when I was younger The Road to El Dorado was my favorite movie lol
Ok but why did this come at the PERFECT time? I’ve been reliving my childhood and binging this album. So good. I mean... this just gave a whole new since of epicness to this song.
RIGHT??
Think we can get a cover of Through Heaven's Eyes? I think you would do an amazing job, Caleb. As always, keep up the awesome work! Both Jonathan and yourself are spectacular!
Not a religious person (I do respect other's beliefs regardless... so long as they don't use them as means to hurt others, that is), but I ADORE this movie. Makes me super emotional every time. It's so, so good.
Hey -Just be faithful !:) remember the year is 2023!:) relating to the gospel-meaning good news, it's what the Hebrew-Jewish scriptures lead to! ⭐
The bromance between these two is so real it hurts
everything about this video both amazes me and makes me laugh. Jesus! Moses!
@@drlca6601 The Plagues one makes me laugh way more 😅
Neither of them will probly see this, but if they do, thank you so much for this! Was starting to get a panic attack over my upcoming college finals, then I saw this on my sub list, and ive been BLASTING it for the last hour, its helping a lot!
Foamrule Absolutely same.
The Universe: "Hey Cody, do you remember that lowkey wish you have about making The Prince Egypt into a bitchin' metal opera sung by two handsome men? Well..."
MMMMMMMM
Is it just me or can you tell how much having to stand still with his arms at his sides is killing Jonathan?
Hes usually really emotive with his hands in his videos. I swear his face just screams " i dont know what to do with my hands and its really bothering me.
Honestly, me whenever I stand still and don't have pockets to put my hands in
@@raymantica5604 same here
So I guess this means there's a good chance of you guys doing 'Through heaven's eyes' then?
and "When you believe"?
Not too low
They’ve done it :D
I swear, separately or together, You, Caleb and Johnathan, rock a LOT of songs. I didn't think i could like metal, but the way you guys do it...? I REALLY like this kind.
This song brought me to tears when I was a child, now it brings me to fiery determination. Thank you both.
I could be standing on black pavement in 110 degree weather and I could still get chills watching this
" such precious cargo you bare" I was hoping he'd hit it. and this did not disappoint.
actually got a cold chill when it \4tarted the first notes of the river lullaby.
the both of you have a bad habit. of running how I hear everything.
I now expect everything to sound more metal.
Baka Pierre I totally agree, they totally nailed that part. 👌
I just wish they had included the Miriam verse, somehow.
1:07 iconic head movements
Everytime that beat my head just automatically spaz
Youre Wonderful
A) goosebumps and chills throughout!
B)when he was a baby I used to sing the lullaby part, slightly modified to my son.
Hush now my baby
Be still love don't cry
Hush as you're rocked into dreams
Sleep and remember, daddy's lullaby
So I'll be with you while you dream
River oh river
Flow gently for me
Such precious cargo you bear
Do you know somewhere
He can dream free
River deliver him there
Thanks for reminding me of a simpler time with my little one
