- “Everyone who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them, I will show you whom he is like: he is like a man building a house, who dug deep and laid a foundation on the rock; and when there was a flood, the river burst against that house and yet it could not shake it, because it had been well built." -Luke 6:47-48
This 1975 Dodge W200 Club Cab 4x4 has been in my family since brand new, and it started McCool Auto many decades ago! This truck deserves a solid restoration and upgrade, but it is in dire need of work. Think we can put it back on the road? Stick around to the end of the video!

Dylan I could listen to your Dad tell them stories all day long
That’s really McCool that you get to work on this family heirloom Dylan! Can’t wait for the final results!
Great that you videoed your dad and his remembrances, Dylan -- this is something you'll look back on for years to come. I enjoyed this!
Love seeing you save the old truck. I'm a Dodge truck man and love seeing them get saved.
I am with you there!
Dylan great video as always ...listening to your dad was great lost my dad in 2015...look forward to this build.... Honor thy father... Everyone be blessed
I lost my dad last September we were like brothers instead of father and we were that close I’m 41 years old now I lost him when I was 40 and a half years old I would watch you channel with him he would always watch it with me but it would always put him to sleep he could fall asleep watching the local baseball and football games on the tv I’m from Baltimore Maryland born and raised and my teams are the orioles and ravens
This is awesome. Love seeing the history and the family ties to the truck. Good on you and your dad must be so proud seeing you work on the truck and making it live once again.
Hey Dylan, I Love this build!!! There is a 1979 Dodge Club Cab Long Bed Truck that My Brother and I grew up with that means a lot to us. It was our Dad's truck and was last on the road around 2003 or 2004. My brother learned to drive in this truck and drove it around our woods, yard and up and down our road when I was away most of the time at college for a year. This truck is currently at my brothers house. We hope to get it running and driving again soon. This video will no doubt inspire us to get busy with the truck that we grew up with.
So love this story. I know my old classic autos hold the same kind of sentiment for my oldest daughter. She used to love riding in the old Nova or '72 F250 when I'd get them out to drive. Still have them and don't plan to release them. I can't tell you how many times I've heard stories where people said they remember riding with dad in the old car and miss it. One person even asked if I'd sell the Nova because their dad had one like it and wished for one. I always say no because we have our own memories with these vehicles.
In high school (early 90s) my best friend had a 75 D100 4x4 360 (swapped on 4 barrel carb), he later picked up a 78 ext cab 4x4 with 318. Had so much fun with them.
I am so excited to see more of this truck
It’s nice to work to on family history vehicle full of memories.
I have my 1974 W100 that my Uncle bought new in 1974 I got it from him in 1979 and drove it to high school and my son drove it to high school from 2020 tell he graduated in 2022 still run and 4x4ing in the desert near Sand Mountain close to Fallon Nevada great show
This is the build i have been looking for. The old 4wd mopars are my passion. Keep this build going!!
Oh man! I'm stoked beyond belief that you are doing this! I've been so curious about that truck since I first saw it in the field in a video. I had a '74 Power Wagon that I really miss, so glad you're doing this! The parts with your Dad telling the history of the truck and your family really makes this such a special video, I loved hearing the way he says certain things about getting in the carb, just hearing him talk like a Tennessee man like me is awesome to me! Can't wait for the next video, family first, trucks and cars a close second. ❤😊
You and your dad to restore this truck together. His stories touched my heart. It would be really special to watch you and dad bring this truck back to life.
I think that's so cool keeping family history alive
Hope to see the family truck being restored back in the near future 😊.
I absolutely Loved Story Time With Pop McCool, I would Listen for Days
I grew up in my dad’s 79 club cab. Loved this video. You gotta take this on the power tour next year.
the stories you have with that beast it truly deserves to come back to it's glory
love this project. Especially the effort to fix the metal with the donor parts, instead of switching whole body parts. looking forward to the net video
That’s a great project. I grew up with a 1981 GMC C2500 heavy duty originally ordered by PG&E. They abandoned it when it arrived at the dealership. My dad bought it for his construction business. We used that truck for everything. Tow the boat to the lake, haul cars around. Move a couple of times. I wish he would’ve kept it. I would’ve bought it from him unquestionably. 292, SM 465, 14 bolt full floater. That’s so cool that you get to build that neat old Dodge back up.
Heck yeah, looking forward to seeing this truck restored! 😎
Them old dodge truck are tough
Always going to have a soft spot for these 72 through 80 Dodge trucks. Makes me miss the 76 W100 Power Wagon I had back in 2017. One of these days, I'll have another 72 through 80 Dodge truck. Can't wait to see the final product. Really digging the truck as a whole.
I like where this is going. Looking forward to seeing the results
Hello there 👋👋, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a wonderful day. God bless you!❤❤
I remember the first time I rode in a Pontiac grand prix I was a little kid in the early 2000s and I had a granddaddy that had 3 1977 Pontiac grand prix and I rode in a gold and white vinyl one and Ive missed him for 21 years he was a Korean war veteran
Can’t wait to see how this turns out. Full resto please.
Now these are the worthy stuff to make a video on, Really appreciated the work effort that you put into these videos my buddy Dylan ❤❤❤❤.
Gotta be one of the coolest videos on the channel now! I wish I could have something like this from my family.
I will be enjoiyng this series of videos. Keep up what you are doing, please
I'm a Mopar guy and can't wait to see this truck going again !!!!!
Now you're getting into a great mule of a truck! Thanks.
Cool to see you bring your family truck back to life. Ik a lot of us have/had trucks and cars that are sentimental and have lots of stories to tell. Ik i sure do😂
Congratulations on being able to work on your family's truck!
Watching this takes me back to High School. My good friend Dad had same year 225 I believe 4 speed. Some great memories on their farm. Same year green stake pad. The trick was newer would go anywhere old granny gear.
I didn’t realize your name was actually McCool. That’s awesome, hi Dixie👋
Hello there 👋👋, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a wonderful day. God bless you!❤❤
This one definitely needs a t shirt. My favorite model dodge pickup! Cummins 5 speed swap!
The bed on my 74 is Rusted just like that that undercoating they used just held the moisture inside of it I guess
Dude, sweet old truck. 💯
Really neat truck. Your dad’s stories are my absolute favorite part of this video. Stuff like this is priceless. Reminds me of listening to my late grandfather when he’d talk about is 72 C10 he bought new that I now own.
It is cool to take the best of both trucks and put them together but keep the originality of the original truck.
That’s amazing, especially the history, I’d restore it, 2in lift, the memories are perfect. Definitely really excited on the build. 🙂
Love it. Old trucks is what I’m all about.
I JUST LOVE - HOW YOU TRULY LOVE YOUR DAD! 😍👍
Have been binge-watching your Dodge Challenger rescue from a few years ago. Fantastic work! Most of the vehicles I looked thru had missing engine/tranny and rusted thru floorboards. Not much left to rescue. I almost went for a 1966 Pontiac Tempest but the guy wanted 5000 for it and would not budge! I love the old Chargers, Roadrunners, 442, GTX. Original Hemi blocks alone are a fortune. Wish I could post a photo here.
Hello there 👋👋, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a wonderful day. God bless you!!!❤❤
Go all the way, fix the rust, respray and make it (Mc)Cool again
your Dads stories are the best part of this video. keep going with it
WOW from a video standpoint and a build standpoint!! This video hits on ALL cylinders and the back story and forward build is going to be AWESOME
Cant wait to see this thing rip in the feilds again man a big cam 440 would be amazing for this truck we got to see a video of him and dad riding in this again
That’s an awesome truck! Pulling it in the shop with the Charger was great lol.
My buddy's dad had an old extended cab similar to this in dark green, man we pulled some shenanigans out by the lake in that sucker! My head hit the roof a few times one night.
Great family story and memory thanks for sharing that with us man
LOOK! IT'S McCool IN THE HOOD!!!!
Moral of this story “ we’re gonna have to figure that out”
Love it
Man I tell you, if could sit and listen to the stories pops could tell it would be a great experience, great job on the family heirloom.
I Will Follow This Build Closely, I Like that Rig
Now I feel old lol. I was in the Navy in 2003.
Looks like that bedliner saved the bed Nice. Some awesome stories on this old family truck 20:00 @Dylan McCool
It's amazing at the number of people that let things that are important rust away
Well when you have a family to take care of, it’s hard to get to every project at once. It’s still with us though.
@@DylanMcCoolVideo reminds me of the 70 Z28 sitting in the front yard of a house. The owner died shortly after buying it but the family absolutely refused to sale it, last time I saw it, it had a tree growing through the windshield.
@@DylanMcCoolVideoDylan... don't go putting other parts on it..... repair the rust replace the parts that need it... keep it as you remember it......
You are so fortunate....my dad died when I was young.....I was into cars then but my family was so apart so all the passed down cars got traded in.....
Do what you have to do to keep the memories alive....and if you do need parts....try rocket restoration in Olympia WA...aka Dead Dodge garage
Dylan the drivetrain on the old truck is something special so DON’T get rid of the old differentials and transfer case. Those are heavy duty parts and just a little bit rare. Take the frame, engine, and tranny from the ‘92 and keep everything else from the’75. If you want taller gears then put in some new gears. Yes the ‘75 has sentimental value but I don’t think you realize just how rare that truck really is.
The club cabs in the mid 70's had very few made. I think less than 700 w100 short beds, and about 1000 long beds and less than 2500 w200's but I forget the exact numbers. From "The Standard Guide to American Trucks"
What a great video and a great story. So glad to see your father telling his story. What a super cool truck! I love it! Can’t wait to see how this comes together! I am a huge fan of your plan too!
Hello there 👋👋, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a wonderful day. God bless you!!!❤❤
I've got my Grandpa's 1970 C10 that he got new. He's gone now and it's mine. My first memory of it is driving it in the hayfield in when I was around 5 years old. I'm slowly trying to get it going, but I don't have a garage and not as good a mechanic as you but slowly getting there. Keep up the good work, we love your channel in Missouri
My grand dad had one of these trucks . Was a brown one. I loved that old truck and when he past away the older family members sold it off never to be seen again
Hello there 👋👋, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a wonderful day. God bless you!!!❤❤
This is the coolest thing ever. Dylan, since your dad used to haul cars with it, it'd be super cool if you made this truck your new tow rig after getting it how you want it
That truck is awesome! It has exactly one Dylan horsepower!
Funny to see a truck like that, I had a 1974 Dodge club cab and it had a 440 in it. It was so much fun with the big motor in it.
Hello there 👋👋, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a wonderful day. God bless you!!!❤❤
Cool video, Love the stories! You should mount a winch in front of your lift to make it so much easier to get cars onto the lift. Something you can remove if needed but save your back.
Hello there 👋👋, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a wonderful day. God bless you!!!❤❤
Awesome always cool stuff always thanks
Hi Dylan from west Alabama hugss
I love dylan's satisfaction.....Yeahhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!! Sounds real Good!!!!
Well since you're keeping it in your family and if I had the money I would do a full restoration keep the truck in black but Sam blast the truck and do like you said put another frame on it but Sam blast it breast prevented undercoat the frame and then you have a solid foundation awesome story
Find a 2nd or 3rd hen frame. That would be awesome
Dylan McCool is back back again 0:07
Looking forward to more on this truck. My father in law still has his original 78 dodge adventurer club cab 440 truck. Bought it new and still has it. Maybe one day my wife and I will have it and keep it going.
My step dad bought a 96 dodge 1500 in 01 or 02. That truck was a beast. It hauled a 60ft single wide up a holler in about 10 inches of snow like it was nothin. I had so many memories in that truck. It later became mine times got hard and I had to sell it. I've only had 2 vehicles I've owned that I got emotional when I had to sell them and that was one of them. I guess what I'm getting at is I was never a dodge fan until my step dad bought that 1500 and seen what an ol dodge can do
Dylan McCool I love that truck that you get to work on. I've always loved the look of those trucks.
Love this Dylan, you and your dad will need to go somewhere special together when this is done
Good morning from Cape Cod ⛵ here in New England there are no classic Dodge trucks on the road because of the salt. They just write beyond belief. I'm a GM guy from day one but once in awhile you can't pass up a good deal. In some ways around 97 a gas station but had been in business forever closed and everything was for sale. There was a 74 Dodge adventurer that sat on the side of that garage since I was a kid, for sale on the windshield. Very little rust because it wasn't on the road for many years. 180 bucks which was what I had in my pocket and the guy took it. It had a 383 and a 4-speed on the floor with a Dana rear end. Of course I had to replace all the wiring because it was brittle as hell. All said and done I liked the truck. It was good hearing your father tell the history and it's great seeing that you're going to get it back on the road and running once again. Thank you for another awesome video Dylan ✌️🇺🇲
Hello there 👋👋, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a wonderful day. God bless you!!!❤❤
I love the fact that you are keeping the family heirloom in the family I’m currently doing the same thing with a 78 ford it was my moms first car her parents bought it new and it has been sitting since 1997
I love seeing the videos and stories of what happened with old trucks and cars and what they did and who did what to them.
I very clearly remember the snowstorm your father is talking about. It was 92. It hit Kentucky hard as well, we had 5 foot deep of snow everywhere and we had drifts well over 7 to 8 foot. It was something to behold I learned that year a heavy truck. It's bad about packing the snow. And rising up on top of it.
Then your bottomEd out However, our little light weight 4x4 s10 wouldGo, we'd have to stop back and bust through but it kept going.
Go get em Dylan = sounds like a plan
Video series? Would love to see you dedicate a run of episodes to this beauty.
What a way to honor your family history through an heirloom. God bless your whole family.
Hello there 👋👋, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a wonderful day. God bless you!❤❤
Cool history
McCool history 😂
Love the truck Dylan! And love the idea of bringing it back to life even more! I look forward to seeing it again.
LOVE IT. My first vehicle was a 78 Dodge Club Cab long bed. It was a half ton 2wd with a four barrel 360/auto and a "posi". Dunno if it was stock or not, we bought it from a dirt track racing friend for $150 back in 1998. Unfortunately we had to sell it to rebuild the rear end in Mom's 1976 Chevy C30 crew cab. I miss that old Dodge but I have the worst luck with Dodge anyway. So I stick to Ford and GM these days. Absolutely love your Club Cabs tho. Makes me very nostalgic.
cool old truck and great stories from your dad. it will be great seeing that old dodge back on the road!
Impressed how clean the bed Is wow 12:53 @Dylan McCool
Love hearing your dad's stories. He's soooo chill & "matter-of-fact" with his explanations of the truck's history...lol
I really like the story of the truck and you working to get it back on the road.
Nice truck I wish it was still green and white
Thank you for sharing your a little of your families history with us. I really enjoy hearing the stories. I am looking forward to the truck build. I love you my brother. Your brother in Christ Greg
Dylan You know what this means.......More episodes of Briar under the truck here: and many of them.
Work that boy Dylan!!!! Poor Briar!!!!!! Sounds like lots of rust repair.
Great episode Dylan, can't wait to see the build on this cool old truck. Too bad that so many cars and trucks from the 70's rusted out really fast.
Its awesome your gonna bring a long parked truck back to life that's been in your family since new. I'm currently working on the last new car my grandfather bought, a 1969 LeMans. Its been off the road since 1982. Next on my list is a full brake system replacement.
Yes, been a while since a Dodge truck video!
Hello there 👋👋, how are you doing today? Hope you’re having a wonderful day. God bless you!!!❤❤
Can't wait to see it back on the road
