If it were me, I’d do a mild rebuild. Hone, piston rings, bearings, oil pump, timing, etc. If you are comfortable with BMW engines, a pushrod is easy peasy.
Jake I am seriously so excited for you on this. I am not an advocate of LS swapping an E9x but I totally understand the logic and appreciate it. Derek is The Man for LS as is LSE9X. I can see how happy this build started. Hope it stays this way. Its probably just me, but I would have found a lower mile LS for swapping but I am price vs reliability (I guess new things can break too, but its usually less common for newer to be less reliable than its predecessor version). However, if Derek said it's ok... it's probably ok to use. Great video work Jake!

Nothing wrong with a 200k+ mile engine. I mean, you guys are refreshing it anyway, and you were told not to mess with the bottom end. Gotta have faith and start somewhere.
Damn, that sits in there too good Jake.. there’s only 2 pistons hanging over your shock strut, that’ll be balanced nicely in that chassis. I’m a beema purist and I’m not even mad.. The miles are quite high but I also just built a LS and I know how simple they really are… You’ll be fine, worse case scenario is you do all your fitting and testing, it goes boom, but everything is prepped to come back stronger with minimal downtime.. My bet is you’ll be fine though.. She fires straight up!!!’😂

I would have probably left it out of the engine and just tinkered with it rebuilding it. then swapping it in after it was rebuilt. I don't think I could go thru all that work knowing it has like 10000 miles left just to take it back out haha.
I'd do it... but the LS would be totally rebuilt first, and I wouldn't do it in a real 1M. But to be completely frank, I'm just waiting for my N54 to pop so I can swap in an S85
The miles don't really matter as long as the engine is healthy and you refresh the important bits. Not to mention, you can just pull another one for $500. They're cheap as heck, lol.
I mean, it's an ls after all, and you guys are going to go through it a bit so ya I probably would swap a 300,000 mile ls in my bmw, haha. Especially if it made sense financially
It’s better to put 6l80 it’s better besides you can use the shifter too I highly recommend that, 4l80 always break and it can handle only 390 hp but 6l80 can handle 600 hp 🌚 just sayin
