Oof this was a beautiful but sad watch. My 15 year old son grew up with our baby girl. She was older than him. He stayed in bed crying when she passed. I wear a glass locket necklace holding her fur.

You and your son have my deepest sympathies. I completely understand. I grew up with our house panther Chester. He chose us by refusing to leave our back porch until Mom broke down and let him in. We were both a year old. He crossed the bridge when we were both 17 1/2. I was a senior and was inconsolable for a couple of weeks. Unfortunately this was over 40 years ago and the general response was “It’s just a damn animal. Get over it!” He was the only “brother” I ever had. I’d never known life without him. The only one who understood was the guy I started dating a few months later.
On my 18th birthday, he surprised me with a kitten about 6 months old. Mom wasn’t thrilled, but I promised that she was MY cat and I’d support her. We named her Maxine. And despite the fact that she was mine, Mom and my younger sister loved her too. Even if she was fascinated with Patty’s hair that went to her waist. She lived to be 15 and I was inconsolable when I lost her too. She was my clingy, furry child who slept with me every night, sometimes to the chagrin of my husband. It took years, but our girl now is a tabby named Nina.
Should you decide to adopt again, do it in her memory. It’s not replacing your baby girl, it’s honoring her by saving another life. Your rainbow bridge kitty will always be a part of you both.
@@ItsJustLisa my gramma lost her dog Pete 50 yrs ago and she still gets teary talking about him. She was never able to have another pet, but she loves her "grandkitties" now. Pets are such precious gifts. ❤️
@@ItsJustLisa Oh that's so beautiful!!! Our baby girl chose us too, she just turned up one day and never left. We took her with us when we moved to an old house on the beach, she'd come down with us and explore the rocks. "What's that cat doing here??" people would remark. "Oh she's ours, we live just up there." I still have some scars from having to pick her up to protect dogs from her lol. She was a tiny little thing but when it came to protecting her people she was a firecracker!
I definitely understand how my son felt when she went. I grew up with a big ginger loaf that I'd sneak inside into my bed after my mum was asleep. I was 15 when he passed, he was 17.
They're not pets, they're an important part of the family and the heartbreak is immeasurable when they have to go. It never lessens either, it just becomes a little easier to bear as you learn to focus on the amazing times you were privileged to have with those beautiful souls.

I really appreciate the mom from the second story, not only making sure the little ones are supervised, but also that the baby is gentle with Luna. I've seen way too many parents let the kids treat the family pets like toys.
Agreed I liked that too :) parents need to teach their kids to be gentle with animals too.
In the first story cat is to annoying. Licking food from kid’s lips, lying on baby’s chest is too much. Boundaries

It's actually not surprising babies like animals like cats since cats tend to have healing and relaxing abilities with their purs.
Raising babies with animals is so wholesome.

but yes, babies with nonhuman fellow animals is wholesome because they all still have functioning hearts&brains & more until it’s feeding time (I mean after they’re not nursing anymore), what about them all then?
Probably also good for reducing likelihood of developing allergies later on in life

When my son, who will be 22 in four days, was a baby, I had five cats. They were with me all during pregnancy, and they took turns sleeping on my belly. When my son was born, they already knew him. They snuggled and cuddled with him on a pallet of blankets on the floor, in his stroller, and in his crib. They all loved him and were very protective of him. Unfortunately, they have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. But, we have 3 cats now, and one is particularly fond of my son. He calls her his baby since the other 2 cats are more my cats.

Luna is so sweet, the baby is pulling her ear and fur and there is no reaction, that is a sweet cat, I love how friendly black cats are.

Yes it is!!! Years ago I took in a Tom cat from the streets and this cat never let anyone near him, but he would snuggle and cuddle with me all the time!!! Since he was a stray, I had him neutered and released!! I tried to make him and indoor cat, but once summer came he wanted out!! He would walk me to the bus stop or store when he was outside, and always came home at night. Cats are amazing
The last baby’s mom has done a great job teaching Noah to be gentle with the foster kittens ❤

They're so precious. It's like they know that they're babies so they become very protective of them and care for them. Unfortunately the same case was not with me when I was a baby so my mom had to give her cat away for my safety, I think the cat wanted to eat me, or just hated babies, or that I screamed a lot as a baby, which I can't fault the cat, since I very likely suffered migraine attacks as a baby, screaming for hours in horrible agonizing pain with my parents being unable to do anything but to wait and endure my screaming.
But still, I absolutely love cats, big and small, and I don't blame or fault my mother being protective of me.
Because kittens stay together. The kitten probably thought the baby is a human kitten and they should stay together 😁

We had a tomcat who LOVED my lil nephew Jason & wouldn't allow anyone but my mom or his parents anywhere near him. The cat made holes on all four sides of his playpen & if anyone got close he'd pop them every time. If Jason cried the cat would lick his tears from his face & rub on him to soothe him.

My cat Simma would not leave my sight while I was pregnant, and after had daughter she would sleep in the cot with her, when she transitioned into a big bed, Simma would sleep at the end of her bed. Had her for 14½yrs and miss her everyday.

My daughter eventually developed an allergy to my Gertrude. It was sad. But Gertrude got removed to a large family. 😢 My community cat, Luna, talks to me all the time. I can't touch her without a man's and gloves. Allergies are real! ❤
Glad you are being responsible with both your child and the kitties. Giving up your furbaby is heartbreaking, but allergies can be really nasty and it sounds like your child's are to require that much intervention. Doing the right thin is rarely easy and I hope you find some comfort knowing you accomplished being a good parent to both your babies.
My daughter's allergic, but adjusts. I know it's not for everyone, but she has 2 cats, and it's worked out. The allergy symptoms disappear with exposure. If my daughter spends more than a couple of hours with my cat, her symptoms reappear because the cat isn't a permanent fixture in her life. Just a thought.
I was allergic to just about everything as a child. I took 5 shots a week for years. All they're doing with the shots is exposing you to whatever it is you have an allergy to, therefore building up your immunity to it. When I left for school to find my own path, a kitten found me as his mother. Yes, I was allergic, but was careful to keep my hands washed and my apartment clean. We did fine for the 13 years I was blessed to have him. And, yes, my allergy to cats went away.

It was a very scared cat , he didn't like anyone, he would bite and hiss at everyone . But then I arrived and of course everyone was kind of scared of how he was gonna be with me .
From what I have been told he was the most cuddly , kind baby, he wouldn't get mad when I would pull on his fur or when I wouldn't want ro let go if him . He died because of a neighbor before I could remember him but I will always have a thought for him in my heart

Only pets I had as a kid were goldfish and turtles. Mom hated cats. But who bought me my first cat as an adult? Mom! My parents loved my first cat. She was their grand daughter. Mom still hated cats but not mine because Moon was mine. They loved my second cat, Taco. He was their grand son. If my parents had not passed they would’ve loved my third cat and my two now.

A beautiful siamese cat adopted my sister to have her as her owner my sister named her magic because she was always disappearing and reappearing. The minute magic met my daughter she was ALWAYS cuddling with her they had a beautiful relationship
I love cats. I have had cats all my life but OMG please DO NOT LET A CAT LICK YOUR BABY'S MOUTH ... they lick their butt ffs. This is also how intestinal worms and parasites are transmitted like tapeworms and round worms.

I got worms, but they were killed bc my strong intestins.
We played outside and covert all over with mud.
