Dr K embracing the Indian accent was the most wholesome and funny thing I've seen today 😂
Yes, it cracks me up! 😂😂
😂😂😂😆😁. Love it!
It's even better when you realise he kept doing it specifically to give Chris exposure therapy and find the reason why he wanted him to change back
His accent is always cracks me up because he plays into it 😂
His English accent sounds American, not British, to me.
Thanks for having us on. Excited for the episode ! Everyone take a deep breath🌬
It's amazing because I unintentionally started perfect stillness by the time you mentioned it and found myself finding joy/feeling stimulated with every breath before you mentioned it can feel like that.
Thank you so much
Thank you for giving us real, practical advice 🙏
@HealthyGamerGG 😮😶😤🥵
Get out in front of it before the comments start pouring in... Any who ... The mind is the true playing field of life . We are all in our minds but we are all not in control of our minds therefore not in control of our thinking, which expels our behavior thereafter.

So Boss... "No, is okay. Don't feel the cancelation, just breathe and you be okay," this is my new Mantra. Brilliant.
"Don't feel the cancelation" just became iconic.
Best quote ever :)))

Podcasting is just a front for Chris’s actual goal: becoming a full-blown production studio.
Finally, someone else is connecting the dots 😂. 👍🏻
How do you get a production studio in the top of the trees of a jungle?
@@-Believeinyourself- it is a studio, they are indoors.

Was going to comment on this, that's the BEST setup I've seen for a podcast yet, what a setup!
Without looking at the screen, Dr. K's indian accent legit sounds like the Guru teaching Aang to master the avater state
Great comment
Absolute legend
Yeah not just his accent. He talks like a guru too. He has some useful things to say but still I'm weary of the conviction with which he makes his claims.
Not really. Their voices are quite different
@@jozefwoo8079That’s because you’ve never tried anything he talks about, or talked to anyone in the community who has, or seen the research they’ve done on their modules
SO HAPPY people are becoming aware of Dr K and HealthyGamer. One of the best orgs on the internet
Just found him and his content is perfect for someone like me, a young learn hungry male who cant get enough of education and knowledge to the point where its depressing to think about not being able to learn everything and keep on learning for eternity
If you hungry go eat a burger @@Ju-Peter667
@@Ju-Peter667 As I'm sure you're already aware, it's important to take time out for yourself and sit with the things you learn and thoughts as they talked about. Its something I struggle with as someone with ADHD. I set a weekly reminder to sit with myself for an hour that I keep ignoring/snoozing. But after this, I'm excited to sit and just hang out with me. Good luck to you too!
I predict some will get mad at me for saying this but sometimes Dr K just seems to come up with explanations or solutions to things instead of having real knowledge. If you can speak in a certain way and make the thing seem plausible enough, people will buy your explanations. If you go to almost any psychology department to talk with the scientists about the issues of self-awareness, you'll get quite likely as many explanations or views as there are people working there. These are vague issues still unsettled in the science and I wish people were a little bit more skeptical when someone (even a professional) gives definitive answers as if the answer was obvious. As a professional myself there are many times I would have an issue with what Dr K is saying, but he is usually in a position of authority. It's easier to convince an audience of laypeople than to pursue a career where you have to convince those who are your peers.
@@Minisynapse You're not wrong but I think since he's primarily speaking to a large audience, he's gonna generalize a bit. He is (was?) a practicing psychologist. He's done live streams where he is talking to streamers/youtubers and is very different in his responses and nuanced.
Dr. K is the beginning of something great that happens when you mix east with west. His way of seeing the world will change the world forever
He's not the first to do it but definitely reaching a new audience!
@@ZM-dm3jg….yeah I agree with you actually, he doesn’t know what he’s talking about, he’s coming at this from a completely intellectual perspective and not from direct knowledge. Right at the start he talks about “controlling your awareness” and went down hill from there.
@ZM-dm3jg @cspace1234nz I don't get what you mean? Controlling awareness is a thing. There is a lot of science backing up Directing your awareness on certain things (intero/exteroception, mindfulness) . Also yoga techniques and these neurological phenomena have been backed up by science. It makes sense that people have been using them for thousands of years. Because they work. what's pseudo science about that?
@@yannwnnd …nope. whatever that is is not awareness.
@@cspace1234nzI believe you lack awareness. Just saying “Nope” and denying explanation without a counter argument doesn’t make you credible. But glad you share your opinions online
Most unique backdrop for a podcast that I have ever seen.
Excited to finish this watch asap
Edit: I just finished watching the entire podcast, man. This is by far one of the highest production value podcasts that I've seen. If I were to summarize the ending part of this podcast with a quote, it would be: "Everybody wants happiness, nobody wants pain, but you can’t have a rainbow without a little rain."
Dr K has been using this on his membership videos. Maybe he gave Chris some tips.
where is the full video?

Dr k healthy's switch from British English to Indian assent is just hilarious
british english?
He prefers to be called Mr. Gamer
Well. I assent to listen to Dr. K's accent be British or Indian. But the rolling r thing is a hoot! I've always loved that.
You're right. that happened. 2:35>>> Crazy!!!
He's got an American accent.
I think part of the reason it gets out of control is from a parent who accuses you of not caring enough, when you are hypersensitive by default and then punishes you for not seemingly caring enough. So you go into overdrive.
This
Spent a significant portion of my life trying to appease a schizophrenic mother. Who was never satisfied with anything I did.
Always constantly telling me I don't appreciate her and I'm exploiting her.
You know a teenager that lived with his parent depended on them.
You are not hypersensitive by default. There is a reason you are hypersensitive to something, anything.
If we take your example, 'a parent who tells you that you do not care enough' Our parents can be wise teachers, and they can sometimes be wrong. Or they can sometimes be repetitive or hurtful even when telling the truth. Sit and rest on these thoughts.
Breath and focus on your hypersensitivity, let your emotions wash over you and accept the situation for what it is, your life, your parents, their judgements of you, your so called not caring enough, now back to the breath, breath in, breath out, and notice that life is okay, that no matter what happens in life you have can breathe and find peace in your self.
Could be part of an attachment disorder.

Love Dr. K, he changed my life, he's an amazing human being and I am so happy to see he is started to get the recognition he deserves.
This is gold. I love that you make podcasts an art form with the aesthetic.
2:55 😂 I’m a Brazilian woman living in America for 8 years and this guy’s leaning into his accent is so relatable. 😂😂😂 I’ve done this and it always throws people off 😂😂😂
I'm brazilian too and still getting comfortable with my accent 😂
I had to watch this twice; my attention was taken with the beauty of the backdrop 😅
Cool story.
@Devonpinky09 Is this sarcasm?
Its always baffled me that people dont want to be alone with themselves. I have always enjoyed my thoughts and when I had the time I used to like walking or sitting in silence sometimes for hours and see what thoughts come into my head. I also love dreaming even nightmares that terrify me in the moment, always interesting to see what my brain comes up with.
Are you a Sri Lankan? If so, hello!... I do the same damn thing. lol
I see that you are always tending to your mind garden. That’s great.
I’m sorta the same way. I like my time with myself, and yet I often worry about having few if any friends.
Sometimes, I wish every everybody would leave me alone but other times I wish I had someone to share with.
I talked with a friend about this once. Some people need to spend more time alone, but I need to get out a little more :P
@@rike4706 I am the same way. I love being social but I NEED my alone time. Just learn to embrace both it is all about the balance. ❤
I get the visceral hyper-awareness I didn't know that was what it was called I have fibromyalgia I have essential tremor I've got obsessive thoughts and they are scary it is scary to me out of control no matter how many times it's happened because each time is a new time. But it is good to know that I'm not alone in feeling this way. So yeah it's good to know.
Man I can sit and listen to Dr. K for hours. I love soaking up knowledge he has. Always interesting, always great at explaining complexity in concepts.
0:08 An answer to that question can be found in "Hávamál" (aka Odin's words), stanza 54:
"You should be
only a little wise,
never too wise.
The happiest people
throughout their lives
are those who know just enough."
Because knowledge brings responsibility. Learn as much as your mind can feasibly deal with.
The world of podcasting will never be the same.
Dr K: Here is some insightful information
Comments: ooohhh shiny background
….yeah and about how he switches from one accent to another
I am crying laughing in my truck at the accent change. That was golden.
That "Cancellation" punch had me rolling on floor 😂... And then the deep talk about introspection ... Hats off... Can't wait for the whole episode
Happy to see Dr. K on so many podcasts now. He has fantastic perspectives on mental health, awareness, and consciousness
Cool background.
Amazing! We have a spiritual practice in Kentucky that we do which is somewhat similar. We call it “Going fishing”
Underrated comment
I struggle with hypersensitivity and over-awareness but have made huge strides lately. Turns out I was chronically under consuming salt and it was putting my brain into fight or flight, making me hypersensitive. I use extra salt on food now and also supplement and it's changed my life.
HEY!! i've recently discovered too, i was chronically under consuming salt and i started taking a liquid iodine supplement, live changing.
Pink himalayan sea salt works great for me.
@@Photik Yes I use that 💯
How did you find this out?
@@johntwohill801 I had a hair mineral test done showing my sodium reserves were effectively zero and my naturopath did the math on my diet and discovered I wasn't even meeting the minimum RDA of sodium. I cook nearly all of our meals and we don't eat junk food so it's hard to get enough unless I'm intentional about it.
Jeez this backdrop is absolutely beautiful

The goat has entered the chat
I got so hooked I forgot it's just a 15 min teaser 😭
It's amazing because I unintentionally started perfect stillness by the time Dr K mentioned it and found myself finding joy/feeling stimulated with every breath before he mentioned it can be stimulating.
"The question is, who is in control?". Yes, so correct. That is the ultimate question for most situations. Epicetus quote: "Some things are in our control and others not." The stoic's out there will know this.
Exactly. I've devoted a lot of time recently to contemplating what is and isn't in my control. And then letting go of the things that are outside of my control. When you really apply this the reduction in anxiety is unbelievable. I have a long way to go but even the early results are worthwhile.
@@wallywest2360do you journal? what’s your process for finding these things and being productive with this?
@mclainv A good advice is to read Marcus Aurelius Meditations, he was amongst others inspired by Epictetus and Stoicism. Or start by reading a bit Epictetus. 👍
journaling does help me for sure. I meditate and journal while also gaming a bit to get some hand eye coordination in too. 20 years ago it was parties and concerts. Then it stopped. My mind needed that constant stimulation which led to what they’re talking about.
You're mixing up two different things. You can be 100% control of your life instead of being a slave of desires. However, you CAN'T control of the outcome of your actions, as Epicetus said.
the production quality of this is insane. The visuals are on a whole new level, well done
The new set up is stunning. LOVE that you guys are trying new things.
😭😭😭 I am so happy I came accros this video. I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 5 months ago, and before that, I used to say that my body reacted to BS in general. People don't notice the pollution in the air, the fake words and behaviour, the weather almost unnatural, etc. My mind is too aware, never shuts down, and it is hell
Thank you for this interview!
Outstanding Episode. I love the practicality, insights and visuals!
"Nature" is my best compass for solving modern problems. Its the things we done for years that help. Like sleep in the dark, walk, sitting in peace like Dr.K pointed out, going for a swim, listen to birds in forests. Those activities activated such a power within me.
So true about the phone distracting us from being alone with ourselves! Need to try the exercise mentioned in this episode. Thanks for sharing/posting!
That really hit home when he talked about us evolving with massive amounts of time to process the internal.
That’s actually what’s probably leading to a lot the issues with people and the world today. Really liked this video and information. Thanks
Thanks for bringing Dr. K back! You two are essentially my podcast/learning stuff on the internet diet. Also, congratulations on hitting 2 mill! Well deserved 👏 ✊️
Best quality video ive seen on youtube. My phone full screens this video with no blackbars and without zooming or cutting some of the video.
Also when I picture in picture it's wider than other videos.
Top notch.
Its called aspect ratio and has nothing to do with quality.
Any guilt and regrets I feel when I consider my life's choices, I try to remind myself that the feelings of guilt and regret themselves are reminders of why I'll never make those choices again. As long as I use the guilt and regret in that regard and not allow myself to wallow in it (to my own detriment), then I'm still moving forward. And for every negative thought I have about myself, I try to remember some positive ones as well.
Very optically pleasing. Love Dr K. Nice soft diffuse lighting too.
I’ve never been much of a visual fan when it comes to podcasts, for the past 3 years I’ve never missed one modern wisdom’s podcasts and only ever watched the big guests on TH-cam like Chris Bumstead, David Goggins, Andrew Huberman, Patrick Bed David, but this completely blows my mind. It’s like I’m immersed in a reality where the conversation is taking place, thinking of the scenery brings back some key points of the conversation.
Super excited for the other guests, especially Tim Ferris and his hyper distinctive head.
Much love brother 💪🇿🇦
This is the highest quality, best shot podcast I have ever seen. Amazing stuff Chris!
Dr K speaking on breathe and stillness was so accurate to my experience. All of it, it was really exactly how things came together when I first started meditation. After an accident left me with back pain and stiffness it was never the same, I could no longer sit upright perfectly still and find that "zen" without focusing on the pain and discomfort. It's actually one of the things I'm most upset by from the accident. I never did get back into it like I was, but it was the best I'd felt and I hope to one day get back there and learn to work around it.
The sharpness of the picture and background is stunning. I usually hear the podcast, not watching it but this is another level
Amazing. Dr. K has improved my life so much since I started watching him almost 2 years ago. You do have to do the work on your own, but he does make it easier and gives some of the best guidance I've ever seen.
Loving the backdrop, really soothing! Fantastic work, Chris!
My 2 favorite guys!!!!! This mom of 3 thank you both for restoring hope
The background looks so serene and beautiful, good job Chris
3 minutes in and I'm just filled with joy as Dr K guides the conversation to just be and laugh and enjoy. Small moment of nirvana got me and I was able to be in the moment and laugh like a child. This is so rare.
Of course it was immediately followed by the awareness of the pent of trauma I feel as a baseline haha but it was nice while it lasted.
This video is insane!! The leaves in the background “moving in the wind” I love it. 😃
The ultra wide and the background go so hard 🔥

Excited for this episode with Dr. K. He's great.
This studio setting is out of this world. I hope you'll explore more themes in future podcasts 😍
From watching in a relaxed state in on this sunny day, and feeling good, the moment he said ‘when you get to that level, all of your obsessions will fall apart’ I immediately burst into tears. No idea why.
this production quality is amazing
I'm really proud of you Chris & your work, especially the shooting of this episode which I'm sure it will be amazing once you unleash the full version 👍👍👍👍
I've already realized this during very difficult times... I thought that the images and conclusions i've achieved while meditating were nonsense and uselless. But then, i've found Dr. K.
Thank you!! i've never felt more validated... If you realized this, as well, feel no fear. That's learning!
Really loved this segment. In particular the section on breath was phenomenal and I've realized I've unknowingly applied it many times in my life since becoming a parent and it's really cool to know and be aware of.
Oh wow. That is me. I’ve suffered with this since childhood. Never learned how to deal with it. So glad I stumbled on this video.
this is like dune part two , raised the bar of production quality to a new level
Watching from the early webcam podcasts to seeing this full on movie studio level cinematography is an insane upgrade
Holy sht what is that production quality this video!!! Out of this world.

Either they are on a dope location or they are projecting it on to a screen not green screen and I love it.
I love dr K - he taught me so much psychology I can teach a college intro class in it
And the Chris and his teams’s production value is wild, next level. The aspect ratio makes it feel intimate and cinematic. Good choices all around

Have to say it, too: The background is great! I hope all this feedback I've been seeing on here about it will convince you to keep this going :)
This just connected my experience of ADHD, sensory processing issues, and my fibromyalgia as issues of hyperawareness and inability to filter.

Lovely set Chris…. This sort of look is perfect for you…. A long time ago my father and I did the first podcast with Paul Davies called ‘The Big Questions’ … but the were shot in the Australian outback… we were years ahead.
Are you related to Rodney?
His code-switching is amazing! I love how he keeps it up for a while.
8:23 I used to overthink stuff like that. Then as I got older I realized that you are going to make bad mistakes no matter how much research or thought you put into a decision so just make the decision.
No matter how smart your are you will always be making painful mistakes so just take initiative and learn from the results.
Just make sure it’s your decision, it’s easier to forgive yourself than to let go of resentment for letting another person decide for you (and things went horribly wrong).
