agnostic here. grew up in a secular country. met a muslim girl some months ago at work. she fell for me hard, i fell for her back. neither one of us have ever had this kind of connection with another person before. we both knew we couldnt go into an actual relationship unless i was also a muslim, so she gave me some resources to check out, and since then i've have been looking into islam. as long as im not a muslim, its like a prison visit where were both on our own sides of the window, only speaking through a phone, without being able to get close in any way. the passion of speakers like mohamed is pretty infectious. people like muhammad ali and khabib nurmagomedov are inspiring. theres a strength they posess which seems to come directly from their faith in allah - true strength, confidence, willpower, discipline, and PEACE. knowing fully they cannot be defeated. weird how im feeling the pull. is this my path? is this what people are talking about when they said their names were called by the lord? are my eyes being opened or shut? so many questions that nobody can answer. but something tells me there may be answers to be found in this religion. anyone else who was in this situation? i cant tell if im interested because of islam itself or because she is a muslim. im so doubtful about my own thoughts. i would only choose islam if it was truly my path and my path alone, as that seems most honest and true; but what if SHE was part of my path? would that still be considered doing it for myself? i dont know what to think! please, any advice or ideas, whether positive or negative, shoot them my way.
People debate about the reason why people convert whether it’s for marriage or for other reasons. But what’s most important is converting itself no matter what reason it was for. If you chose to convert you have still converted regardless of what the reason was. That reason itself would be between you and Allah. I hope you get what I’m trying to say kinda confusing I know
Just go and study Islam brother before you get married to her. Talk to the local masjid and they will help you anything that's confused you Inshaa'Allah. Good luck with your journey
I understand your situation completely because i’m a muslim girl who has fallen for a christian guy, we both feel the same way that we never ever had a connection with others the way we do with each other. We love each other intensely and passionately, & there is no one else i would choose to go for if not him. However, my mother argues about the fact that he is christian & even if he converts it will be only for the sake of marriage. I honestly believe converted muslims are truly better than born muslims, because they choose this path & want to follow. My father said, imagine how much he loves you if he’s willing to convert. Just remember if the love is strong, y’all will be together, regardless. He is ready to convert though, he just needs time to take into thought process. I don’t know if we’ll end up together or not, but in sha allah, i believe Allah is great and he will let us be together. Ameen. And brother, if you really look into islam, remember bible is also a book which was sent down by our prophet isa (jesus). The quran and bible isn’t that different, its mostly the same if you look into the authentic bible. Bible has so many testimonies that it has lost its authenticity, however Quran remains the same till this date. ✨ hope this helps.
Based on my experience, there has never been an issue of deen with the families that I have met over me being a revert because they know and understand that most reverts practice Islam and can even be more knowledgable in Islam than most born Muslims. However, ethnicity is always brought up. Since I am not from the MENA, Southeast Asia, or Far eastern regions of the world and that's where personally I would want a spouse from, the family rejects the proposal.
I'm a revert and wanna a marry. But it's hard to find someone who will marry a revert specially in a country where Muslims are in bad condition 😔. But still keeping trust on Allah.
I'm a revert. I've gotten plenty of "no mixing blood" and "you should marry your own peoples" type conversations. I've dealt with discrimination plenty of times even before Islam. They all missed their lottery tickets 😂😂😂. Trust in Allah. I wasn't BLESSED with the name "Saifullah" for no reason. 🙏🏽 🤲🏽 💪🏽.
Tbvh i prefer reverts in order to Marry cause MashaAllah they know way more than us now a days as they revert after gaining loads of knowledge which we as Muslims lack unfortunately now a days and i beliebe their Emaan is way Stronger than ours cause the way they have Stood against all Odds and took such a Step
As a revert it really is very difficult to get married in today's world, especially in a country like India. Here it's more like a marriage between two families rather than two individuals. People are setting a very wrong example of Islam.
Sorry to hear that brother/sister. India/pakistan/Bangladesh and other south East Asia, I think culture and family are stronger than religion. However dont give up. Keep looking I am sure Allah will answer your call.
@@CmonNowTellmebut it is wrong totally we are Muslim Alhamdulillah and for us religion is most important and there shouldn't be involvement of any culture thing in Islam and yes as a revert we face caste issue too
Im a Muslim. And my family is not ready to get me married to a revert because of the fear of what the society and other relatives will say. Plus here in India if you marry a revert.. you might get lynched to death by a group of political/religious extremists ‘bajrang dal’ on the false allegation of forceful conversion. And they call it ‘love jihad’. Sad.
Assalamualaikum reverts also get problem not only in choosing partner but the fact I don't understand why caste is coming in marriage in Indian subcontinent it is making really hard for us to marry.
@@straightfromtheheart2260 In Hindu Majority areas Yes ! But that's not a problem because we have Ghettos all around and thus one could live in a Muslim area .
You don’t need her permission. In fact allah will punish her for that. As long she good Muslim ur family have no right to stop you as long as your adult n in sound mind
Sometimes it’s not just about being a revert sometimes it’s about your ethnicity as well. I am a revert and African-American I hear just as many Muslims from other backgrounds say they don’t want to marry African Americans whether they are reverted or not. It is sad people have those preconceived prejudice in Islam but it happens as the prophet Sallahu Alayhi wasallam stated these are the things that will remain in the Ummah from the times of jahaliyah
Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) said: "The best of women are those that please him [her husband] when he sees her, obeys him when she is commanded, and who does not secretly betray him with regards to herself and her money in that which he dislikes." [Ahmad, Sahih] Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) said: "The believers who show the most perfect Faith are those who have the best behaviour, and the best of you are those who are the best to their wives". [At-Tirmidhi, who categorized it as Hadith Hasan Sahih].
I think people miss the part where they’re encouraged to marry for her deen. But you do you of course. For me Deen over anything else and yes those are acts of worship but I notice I’m a revert looking for a husband and most men are interested in me for looks? But I have so much more to offer. Revert Muslims are more educated and knowledgeable compared to born Muslims, regarding Islam. They study the root of the religion inorder to fulfill the five pillars. I encouraged my brothers to marry Revert Muslim women.
I Reverted to Islam 4 years ago Alhumdulillah and I’ve been looking for a potential spouse for about 2 years now and I’ve been shut down so many times just because I’m not Arab enough or I am a Revert, Suppan’Allah
Look elsewhere. Being a revert doesn't mean people need to automatically open their doors for you, especially when it comes to their daughters. Find yourself another revert on a similar journey, the compatibility might help the relationship
Revert here from a Jewish family but someone married a Christian talking about 1600s AD so my first Muslim man who we both wanted to marry. His family said I was white but I cover. I then married someone who reverted to marry me but he wanted me not to cover and wanted me to drink to be normal we are all people of the book and Muslim men can marry people of the book . Best advice just follow the book and pray
Unfortunately us reverts definitely experience the negative responses. Including from some of my in-laws, may Allah swt guide them. Responses like : he is white, so he is not a real Muslim. And to be honest, these a not small minorities saying this.. As humans we will need to understand that racism (because this is what not accepting reverts is about) is everywhere in the world , amongst all ethnicities, before we can solve it.
My parents ask me to choose between them and the man i want to marry. They reject him coz he is revert. He pray 5x a day, fast on ramadhan, zakat every muharram and so on. They just dont like it coz he is not born muslim. They even say if i dont obey them i will never keep myself away from hellfire. Pls advice shukran
Sheikh is right, but, but more important is that if you trust the other party or not. e.g. If your spouse is not firm and goes back to their ways because Islam is too hard or whatever the reason they have, you will be left with regret and feeling betrayed. Sheikh is absolutely right but you are entitled to your opinion as well as whats you and your family thinks is best for you. And if you choose not to marry a revert it is important to not send out the message to them or whoever is observing that you didn't marry or rejected them because they are revert. rest Allah knows best.
yes there is a stigma towards reverts. but that stigma is also from reverts to other reverts. reverts often want to marry born Muslims and not other reverts. both groups are afraid of marrying reverts in case the revert abandons the religion and goes back to thheir old ways. It's not a stigma by born Muslims against reverts, its a fear both born Muslims and reverts have of jahaliya life. born Muslims often have a social network that often prevents Muslims from abandoning their religion. it is a very difficult thing to abandon your community for another. which is why i have utmost respect for reverts. but it is also why ppl look for the safety of their own community over risking marrying their daughters or sons (daughters especially) to reverts. and not just reverts, even other Muslim communities outside their own, they are hesitant. As people prefer the safety of the familiar. Their own Muslim community often over other Muslim communities. i have known of reverts who have gone back to drinking or never been able to stop. some who reverted just because they wanted to marry a virgin Muslim girl, a hijabi, etc. as they didn't want to marry a "used" non-Muslims girl etc. Cos they imagined a virgin house wife as better etc. so the stigma is from both reverts and born Muslims etc. This is why i say it is better for reverts to marry other reverts. If you choose to marry a born Muslim, often you will not get as good of a match, as you will get rejected over and over. So often times it is better for reverts to marry a better Muslim, who is also a revert. but often they don't want to. i guess it's human nature to want more than ourselves for ourselves. Men are also more protective of their daughters/sisters as women have less power in a relationship. So they often are more hesitant in allowing that marriage. Also for the reverts who hate this about Muslims. Know that you'll also have these same feelings when your born Muslim children come of age to get married. You'll also feel hesitant to allow them to be married off to reverts too. As you too will want the protection of the familiar community.
Assalamu aleikum to all the brothers and sisters and all my dear revert brothers and sisters and I wish that Allah may reward all of us with a good heart

Salaam I don’t know whether you have now taken your shahaadah however if you have welcome to Islam. I would strongly advise that you learn about the fundamentals of Tawheed ( Tawhid) which is the oneness of Allah/ God as this is the foundation that Islam is built on in which everything else is built on and although you cited that your reason to want to revert was due the the fact that Muslims help others and give charity ( which is one of the 5 pillars of Islam) what’s the most important thing to secure is Tawheed. I would like to get married to a revert man. I live in Canada. My first intention in marriage is that my husband and I get closer to Allah. Reverts tend to take islam more seriously than people born in islam and I am tired of the hypocrisy of those. I'm looking for someone who is sincere with and faithful to Allah swt. Inch Allah.
You marry an individual. Wow😃😃😃😃 This breaks every muslims community habit for believing when you marry a person you marry her/his family!! And kafa'a or kufu is the most important tradition of ahlul bait to watch about it. This is really powerful dawa
The gulf between cultures is a vast expanse that MUST be understood. The revert needs a few years to begin to understand Islam before getting married (male or female). Culture is very strange, and reverts have a culture that needs to be tamed as well. When Muslims get married, they both marry more than each other; they marry into each other's family, society, and culture, be it good or bad. In this case, both parties need to understand the submission.

I feel like, MashAllah, reverts actually find it easier to marry after becoming Muslims 😊😭😂 MashAllah, and I know their sincerity and their efforts to finding their potential spouse solely and mainly upon the faith of the potential spouse ,and how practicing the spouse is, is a key, beautiful factor that causes this. ❤

I said: "Yes, tell me, O Messenger of Allah." He (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The words dearest to Allah are: subhanAllah wa bihamdihi”. [ Muslim and at-Tirmidhi.]
Yes because we do believe that when a child is born he worships one God and according to the parents religion they go on different paths.... As when they revert to Islam they are coming back to the same religion which they were already in....
"And [mention] when your Lord took from the children of Adam - from their loins - their descendants and made them testify of themselves, [saying to them], "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes, we have testified." (7:172) Because of this verse we believe that every person has testified that there is no god but Allah before they were born. Therefore everybody was a muslim at this point.
Amazing the nerve of some muslims, knowing more than Allah & His prophets. Who are them to say who should marry who ? In the our holy book Allah calls us Muslim and nothing else. No one is more special than anyone else, especially those of you that point your finger. Salaam !
I married a revert woman. She actually stopped practicing after 4 years of our marriage. And she basically left Islam. I also knew someone who was also a revert. She ended up marrying a nonmuslim man. It's highly risky to marry a revert person. I am not trying question their sincerity but I believe a lot westernrs accept Islam because of the hype or it something that excites them initially. To those whom were born as Muslims, the relegion is part of their lives. But to reverts it's something they have to adopt into and get used to it. If one little thing doesn't collaborate with their point of views they will likely to ask questions immediately if Islam is a true religion after all? So yeah it's highly risky to mingle with reverts.
OK, I am from South Africa, I am a born Muslim. I am willing to marry a revert, insha Allah. These days some of the revert more religious than born Muslims.

the passion of speakers like mohamed is pretty infectious. people like muhammad ali and khabib nurmagomedov are inspiring. theres a strength they posess which seems to come directly from their faith in allah - true strength, confidence, willpower, discipline, and PEACE. knowing fully they cannot be defeated.
weird how im feeling the pull. is this my path? is this what people are talking about when they said their names were called by the lord? are my eyes being opened or shut? so many questions that nobody can answer. but something tells me there may be answers to be found in this religion.
anyone else who was in this situation? i cant tell if im interested because of islam itself or because she is a muslim. im so doubtful about my own thoughts. i would only choose islam if it was truly my path and my path alone, as that seems most honest and true; but what if SHE was part of my path? would that still be considered doing it for myself? i dont know what to think!
please, any advice or ideas, whether positive or negative, shoot them my way.
People debate about the reason why people convert whether it’s for marriage or for other reasons. But what’s most important is converting itself no matter what reason it was for. If you chose to convert you have still converted regardless of what the reason was. That reason itself would be between you and Allah. I hope you get what I’m trying to say kinda confusing I know
Pray to God to help you learn more about islam, read the Quran and ask the girl if anything you still dnt understand. May God make it easy for you.
Just go and study Islam brother before you get married to her. Talk to the local masjid and they will help you anything that's confused you Inshaa'Allah. Good luck with your journey
Salam brother. Whats wrong if its for both?

May Allah give you a good Muslim spouse
Even as a male from the "old world" I would marry a convert easily!

As a revert it really is very difficult to get married in today's world, especially in a country like India. Here it's more like a marriage between two families rather than two individuals. People are setting a very wrong example of Islam.

It is sad people have those preconceived prejudice in Islam but it happens as the prophet Sallahu Alayhi wasallam stated these are the things that will remain in the Ummah from the times of jahaliyah

Don't worry you'll be rewarded by Allah. Insha Allah
Look elsewhere. Being a revert doesn't mean people need to automatically open their doors for you, especially when it comes to their daughters. Find yourself another revert on a similar journey, the compatibility might help the relationship
I know someone
Keep on praying to Allah and Allah will answer your Dua, Sometimes is about timing and best reserved for you by the Almighty.
Look through these comments plenty revert sisters on here saying same thing. Why not marry a revert. That way u can learn together

They are not practicing Muslim brother, they are following thier culture not Islam, may Allah forgive them, n may Allah give you good Muslim spouse.

How that’s even a question for some people is blowing my mind!!
As a revert, I can completely understand this.
Assalamu aleikum to all the brothers and sisters and all my dear revert brothers and sisters and I wish that Allah may reward all of us with a good heart
I would prefer marrying a revert rather than a born muslimah. A revert faith is more stronger than majority of born Muslims.

Foosh, i don't know why that is a mindset there, tbh I have been praying to God almighty Allah to send me a revert Muslimah.
I would to love marry a revert. Their belief & Imaan is much higher than born Muslims and they are practising Muslims unlike born muslims.
Subhanallah Sheik you cleared my afraid alhamdulillah now i proud to say i am a reverted Muslim and now i will say openly that i am looking for a spouse who can connect me with allah even closer.
I wish everyone was free to do as they choose regardless of their beliefs. We are all human beings and should all be free to choose.
Sex ia the most intimate thing that can happen bettwen Men and women and sex is much intimate for women than for Men why because in sex Men enter in woman body a non virgin woman is a easy woman with nothing to offer.
It's already hard for a Muslim to get married, so it's not a surprise for a revert to get married 😊

Revert Muslim is more strong then a born Muslim...
By revert does he mean convert? But as in comong back to Islam, the origin they left from?
Yes because we do believe that when a child is born he worships one God and according to the parents religion they go on different paths....
As when they revert to Islam they are coming back to the same religion which they were already in....
"And [mention] when your Lord took from the children of Adam - from their loins - their descendants and made them testify of themselves, [saying to them], "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes, we have testified." (7:172)
Because of this verse we believe that every person has testified that there is no god but Allah before they were born. Therefore everybody was a muslim at this point.
