Ali, this problem isn’t just about reverts vs non reverts. Unfortunately cross cultural marriage is still a big issue for so many communities. As an Indian Muslim I faced a lot of trouble from my parents just to marry a Pakistani Muslim! I know Bengali people that were disowned by their parents for marrying Indian Muslims. How can this be? Even such closely aligned cultures are discriminating against each other. We need to work on racism within Muslim communities and move away from cultural prejudices to expand and strengthen the ummah. Muslims should be of all colours and creeds.
Not only two individuals but the tension across the border is involved too in case of such marriages may be that's what your parents are concerned about and they're rightly concerned about if so... I lost my sister for she fell prey to the hindu muslims riots in India and lost her life for just being a muslim and a Pakistani so I suggest you to keep away from this mess and all. Allah SWT made us different tribes so that we can actually mix and mingle with each other like marriage, friendships, etc.. Imagine these brothers come to Islam and then we don't accept them completely within the Ummah bc they are reverts.......yet the Prophet's companions (PBUH) are reverts themselves. In Islamic countries getting married is super expensive that's why people prefer foreign reverts because all they require is commitment and love and a ring as mahr. Which is all you actually need. I wish our women are like this. Some are but I'm speaking about majority.
from my experience, when a white brotha/sista takes their shahaada at the masjid, there's almost always a line up to try and marry them, it seems there will be no shortage of suitors. of course in a world of many possibilities they'll get some rejections but overall and in general, white reverts have it easy and are top of the pile when it comes to reverts, and Allah knows best. may Allah forgive us and help us fight racism in our hearts
I think perhaps for the revert sisters. I am not actually sure whether there is a line up for white revert brothers. maybe there is. But when it starts involving the parents then most of the time the revert is rejected by parents who are more cultural than religous

When is the marriage documentary releasing? Any rough date? We’ve been waiting for a while now seems like it’s going to be a movie 😂 . If not can we watch it in the next life if we make it to heaven iA. 🙂 Also reverts are struggling to get married because majority of the Asian community are discriminating(I know this being a Pakistani myself) and majority of the time won’t allow you to marry outside your culture which is wrong. I'm not a revert but still finding it difficult to get married. Tbh alot muslim families have unrealistic expectations of a man. And alot of sisters are looking for dunya/materialistic criteria over Deen. Just my experience.

It addresses the issue of families rejecting marriage bc of reasons that are ridiculous and against Allah’s plan. They also address zinna, ‘halal dating,’ and a couple of other hot topics. This problem exists in most cultures, specially in asia where Muslims are curious to marry someone from different culture, and i don't know when this mentality will disappear.... my advice to reverts who's struggling - personally i think Morocco is best place to look for a wife as they like marrying from different cultures..

Whether we like it or not culture does have a big impact on marriage. There is no harm in one marrying from his own culture or race due to similarities. However if 2 people who are from different backgrounds but have many things in common then culture and race is usually not a problem. Marriage is not black and white. Its a huge step and should be given careful consideration. Just because you are practicing doesn't mean you now can marry any sister. You have to educate yourself, get a decent job, learn to stand on your own two feet, move out of mum and dad's place, and take care of yourself. Marriage is difficult especially when you have kids.

In Islamic countries getting married is super expensive that's why people prefer foreign reverts because all they require is commitment and love and a ring as mahr. Which is all you actually need. I wish our women are like this. Some are but I'm speaking about majority.

Whether we like it or not culture does have a big impact on marriage. There is no harm in one marrying from his own culture or race due to similarities. However if 2 people who are from different backgrounds but have many things in common then culture and race is usually not a problem. Marriage is not black and white. Its a huge step and should be given careful consideration. Just because you are practicing doesn't mean you now can marry any sister. You have to educate yourself, get a decent job, learn to stand on your own two feet, move out of mum and dad's place, and take care of yourself. Marriage is difficult especially when you have kids.
