    Got myself a Zero8 after watching this review, and i dont regret that buy at all. Got a 8km commute to work on about every surface you can encounter (gravel, mud, tarmac, mountian and grass), and it runs perfect through it all. Easy to do maintenance, and it seems like the batteries last good even after long-time hard use.

    i can speak on the Zero 8 because i’ve been using it for a while now. i used it to commute around boston and it did really well keeping up with traffic and surpassing other bike riders. i highly recommend it for new scooter riders.

    Nice review... the comparisons within the video are a really nice addition! I also like that you threw in the - step-up.- comparison (Zero 9). This is the best channel and Facebook group for those making a decision on eScooter (bar none)!

    I would be careful locking it the way you did with an extended U-lock, where it was immediately above the wheel, it looked like you could just turn the wheel 90° to line up with the lock and the lock would just fall down to the ground over the wheel, it might be better putting the U-lock above and below the folding mechanism

    You say the Zero 8 cannot match the Segway in distance, but the Segway is much slower in top speed. Have you tried the Zero 8 at the Segway's top speed? Maybe the numbers would change?

    • @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide
      @ESG-ElectricScooterGuide  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would assume, since they are the same weight that the Zero 8 would still go a bit further if we capped the speed to 18 mph since the battery capacity is 624 watt-hours and the Max is 551. However, when looking at watt-hours used per mile, Segway/Xiaomi scooters have a pretty good reputation for efficiency. Also, I'll have to get the data, but we don't run the Zero 8 at the max speed the entire time. It is mostly starts and stops, with some stretches of close to max speed. Our web guy actually can get me the average speed of the range tests just to have a little more fun with the numbers.

    I've had my FalconPEV Zero 8 for over a year now and already put 600 miles on it. No issues at all except replacing the rear fender to their carbon fiber. It's really a no maintenance scooter and the battery seems to be getting stronger. I have the 10.4 ah, 500 watt and it's fine

  • @Dajlec
    @Dajlec 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    My zero 8 came with a 50.4V charger which is able to charge the 48V battery to a maximum of around 74%.
    Why? Answer: note that the maximum (100%) charging capacity of 48V battery is not 48V but 56.4V. To charge your 48V battery to 100%/56.4V you would need a stronger charger (e.g. 60V).
    Providing a weaker charger is a smart trick some manufacturers use in order to prevent their buyers from overcharging the battery (keeping your battery charged above 30% and below 80% will triple the battery lifetime).
    The light on the charger will turn green once the current stops flowing, in other words, there is no more difference in the potential between the charger output and the battery. This only means that the battery charged to the maximum capacity of what a CHARGER can provide and this is not necessarily the max capacity of the battery itself.
    So if you see a green light on the charger, indicating that the charging is finished, but your scooter only shows 4 out of 5 bars, check your charger's power and the voltage reading of your scooter. They should be similar (e.g. for 50.4V charger your 48V scooter should read 50.1 or 50.2V when charged to the max).
    Search the internet for "Battery pack voltage comparison charge".

      Electric scooters aren't allowed on commercial airlines because of their Li-Ion batteries.

    Using pounds, lbs and miles, to describe something to worldwide viewers that in 90% of them they are using metric system, kilos, kilometers etc, it is like you speak French as global language and you expect from others to understand what you say..

    it havee much higher top speed and 10 % better acceelration up to 15 mph but seagway g30 have better climbing capability biger tires and biger range and better brakes with sim9ilar size and weight and price overall i more prefer g30 ., with zero 9 its diffrent story in this case i more prefer zero 9 .,in zero9 case i dont like only one features = according to your claim it loose 25% power after first 10 miles which im really dont like in this g30 is better hold on its poeak power almost all the way but zero 9 have better breaks much higher top speed not to much worse range and 20% better accleration on first 10 miles and cost not to much more .

      Many reports on reddit about the zero 8 and 9 literally breaking in two because the folding section is too thin and weak, the frame is made of cheap cast alluminum (like most scooters). If my bike would break in half I'd sue the company, I find it incredible how there is next to zero regulations about how these things are made.
