Pranayam practices are to be done empty stomach only preferably chanting as well but you can do chanting after 3 hour gap of food .. As a lot of stomach muscles are involved your stomach has to be in rest state to practice this.. Even yog asanas are to be done with a gap of 3-4 hours after eating Hope this helps
