This is the issue of taking the Bible, specifically Genesis, as literal history. Genesis is a poetic story with many truths, but you must be careful on how you interpret those truths. We Christians shouldn't have our own alt-science. Why? Because science is on our side. Moreover, this kind of hyper-literal interpretation is not "taking God at his word." It is "teaching as doctrines the precepts of men" - Matthew 15:9. It is also presenting an enormous stumbling block to any young mind who wants to know what Christianity is all about. How do we know what parts of the Bible are literal and what parts are symbolic/ allegorical? It takes a little common sense.

I hear people talk about the problem with dinosaurs being extinct now like it's a one off. And I was concerned with the same thing until I did some research (that was well hidden). It turns out they find regular skeletons of "modern" animals all the time and they discard them or put them in a crate in a warehouse and never speak of them again. And remember, after the flood we were starting back to just a few of each kind, not hundreds of different types of the same kind. So after the flood we started over with literally a handful of dinosaurs. And when animals that can get large and aggressive (not to mention a good food source), what do we as humans tend to do about them? Remember, we killed millions of bison and almost wiped them out in a very short time. Dinosaurs were slow to grow and breed and that doesn't work well around humans.

    • @Yamyatos
      @Yamyatos ปีที่แล้ว

So it's gods fault then for letting them go extinct because he failed to account for that despite being all-knowing?
Jokes aside tho, genetic bottlenecks are easy to detect. A genetic bottleneck is when a population is shrunk down to near extinction. For humans that mark is in the low tens of thousands. We know that happened for some species. We know that it never happened for all species at the same time, and especially not down to 2 individuals.

If the dinosaurs were consumed by the flood along with all the people not on the ark, why don't we find fossils of people in the same sedimentary layers as the dinosaurs are found. That would prove your point beyond all reasonable doubt. Can you please help me understand that? Thanks.

    • @kyle777
      @kyle777 2 ปีที่แล้ว +20

My understanding is the flood naturally sorts out all kinds of debris by density, so the heavier debri/fossils are found in the lower layers while the lighter/less dense materials are found at the top. Kent Hovind talks about this in this 7part creation seminar, not sure which video it is but the whole seminar is worth checking out on TH-cam

However, the answer to this question should be on the tip of every creationist's tongue. I'm not trying to dispute the flood story. I simply want to point out if creationists are criticizing the dating of dinosaur fossils, they should also be discussing the dating of human remains, as well. But it does not appear there are any. Further, if creationists claim the dinosaurs walked the earth along with Noah's family, then fossil remains must exist. But none of the creationists are discussing this simple, but critically important, conclusion. They argue that dating is erroneous. They argue that the Bible proves dinosaurs walked on the young earth. But what they cannot explain, they never mention. Do you see the problem I have with this?

Exactly where the corpses would have ended up being buried in the same global maelstrom could have depended on numerous things. Like exactly what part of the earth began to break up first and where different species lived at the time when the Continents began to submerge, collapse and collide. If you dont believe in Catastrophic plate tectonics, then please explain how evidence of absolutely gargantuan Earthquakes and subduction jibes with the uniformitarian mantra. ?? The reality of subduction and Continental break up are not even questions, they are demonstrable facts. Facts that remain unexplained by the deep time "Theory". But very clearly defined by CPT.

Revelations 3:8 says that "one day is with the Lord AS a thousand years..." this shouldn't be interpreted as literal, only that one day to God is a huge amount of time in relation to us, not just one thousand years; do not put limitations on God. Geology and scanning the rocks around fossils we have found with radiometric dating has proven the earth to be over 4 billion years old. This is not to say that the Bible is in any means wrong, but this interpretation of scripture conflicts with my prior knowledge of dinosaurs and the earth. This also conflicts with the process of fossilization, as the bone must be completely preserved, while water decomposes the bone, leaving only a cast fossil, an imprint made by the creature that is filled up with sediment. These conditions would not be possible to form a fossil as we typically picture it. The short amount of time allowed in this scenario would not make it possible for the earth to form and bring fossils to the surface via erosion. Also, the proposition that dinosaurs simply died out of natural causes, massive creatures that basically ruled the earth in their time, just doesn't make sense to me. Thank you for your work in putting out this video, and I appreciate you trying to explain one of the greatest mysteries in Earth's history. However, I cannot agree with this.

Which of all these does not know that the hand of the Lord has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind. Does not the ear test word as the tongue tastes food? Is not wisdom found among the aged? Does not long life bring understanding? Job 12: 7-12
You’re trying to explain creation yet you deny the truth written out for you simply because ‘It’s not logical’. I read a hypothesis, based on Biblical creationism, that the myths of "fighting dragons," might actually be based on a truth that dinosaurs were still around here and there, but eventually were wiped out. None actually breathed fire, that is a story enhancement. Air pressure was different before the flood, according to Creationists. Denser. So life forms grew larger. After the flood, air pressure was less dense, because the dense cloud cover of the "firmiment of the air" was gone, so subsequent dinosaurs who survived on the ark (perhaps Moses only took juveniles), didn't grow larger then an elephant. (Of course, all bones post-flood were not preserved) Natives deep in the Democratic Republic of the Congo identified, from pictures shown them of both dinosaur pictures in books and modern mammal pictures in books by a Creationist tea, that they'd seen a Triceratops & Brontosaurus in the depths of the jungle. The team from the Institute of Creation were hopeful of finding and filming them, but the jungle was super, super dense and something happened to force them to have to leave without finding them (it was either political or weather reasons) But remembering air pressure after the flood became less dense, the Triceratops they described was about the size of a Rhino. I was disappointed they didn't succeed when I read the report. You can look such info up at the Institute for Creation online.

I'll do you one better, the serpent curse was to crawl the ground on his belly and eat dust. And he was cursed above all cattle. In the book of Genesis the serpent is described as a type of cattle. Taking a look at the Hebrew, it's referring to a large 4 legged animal. I'm not saying it is gigantic. I'm not sure the size but it's labeled a type of cattle and it had legs.
In the prophetic language of revelation a dragon is used to describe Satan, and he's also called the "serpent of old" a throw back to Genesis. I think the serpent-like creature Satan used as a medium was a dragon. Which is why he is referred to as a dragon.
And outside of the Bible, writings by Ellen G White. She is considered to be a prophet by some because she passed the prophet test. According to her, the serpent in the garden of Eden also had wings. If you've ever heard about the serpent having wings, that's who it came from originally.
But I believe the Bible is telling us that the serpent in the garden of Eden was a dragon.

I dont know. I have my reservations. So much just doesn't make sense, anymore; especially when you break it down to its infinitesimal levels, including sin itself. Science tells us that we are not all created equal. Some of us are born intelligent, dyslexic, mentally retarded, deformed, psychopathic, schizophrenic, with both male and female genitalia (transvestite), narcoleptic, athletically gifted, with dwarfism, tourette syndrome, tall, short, strong, weak, with autism, compulsive disorders, diabetic, compromised immune systems faulty organs..... list goes on. Instincts and hormones, self preservation, and superficial preferences also play a significant role.
If our brains are hard wire to "sin", and the irrational, undeveloped or less intelligent parts of our minds lead us astray, one could agrue that our tendency to "sin" is not of our own doing, but rather the doing of the one that claims we were created in his image. What's more, why would such a superior being concern itself with the actions and habits of mankind, as well as our fate? If God is omniscient, omnipotent, and omnipresent, what's the point in all of this if He already knows the outcome? A test to find out if we are worthy to the exclusive rights and entry into His kingdom? Really?
If the devil/lucifer, being a master deceiver and a highly intelligent being only 2nd to god himself, how can he hold Adam and Eve's disobedience against not only them, but all of their descendants as well? Did the original sin make us even more flawed beings or did he purposely dangle temptation in front of our monkey/ape like brains knowing we'd fall if ever confronted by a far superior being he also created, with a cunningly intellect only 2nd to his own? Why would he even allow this to happen? Many christian apologist have offered clarifications but as stated in the aforementioned, they still make no sense.
One could argue humans dont have a "sin" problem as much as they do a stupidity problem.

The way I look at this & other dating controversies, especially geology is, the evidence is the same for both creationists & evolutionists, the difference is their individual World views. An evolutionary scientist looks at dinosaur bones or rock formations, & they automatically know that what they're looking at HAS to be 10s of million of years old, same with creationist scientists (yes there are many) they automatically "Know" that what they're looking at cannot be millions of years old. So, the evidence is the same for both, its a TIME problem!

In the beginning of day 6 all the animals were created and then humans were created 2nd. the animals, sea creatures and man kind were told to be fruitful and multiply. (answers are in genesis.) After the fall the bible begins its timeline which is more than 6,000 years according to the early hebrew translation.

The ash cloud that covered the earth would have cooled the oceans, killing the marine reptiles, which I might add cannot breath underwater, so they very much could drown, same with whales, which are mammals. Whales evolved from small mammalian creatures that adapted to live in the water. The "first whale", Pakicetus, evolved 50 mya, after the kt extinction that killed the dinosaurs, it was small about the size of a wolf and was also terrestrial. And one of the first true marine whales, Basilosaurus, lived 34 mya. When God created this world, it was perfect without sin or death. God didn't create meat eater animals. Adam and Eve, also all the animals were on plant based diet. When sin came to this world, then everything changed.
The 200 Watchers, when they left their habitation and saw the daughters of the men, were beautiful they bore children to them.
"that the sons of God saw the daughters of men, that they were beautiful; and they took wives for themselves of all whom they chose." Genesis 6:2
The leader of the Watchers was Samyaza. The Watchers taught the mankind many things.
Azazel was one of the leaders of the rebellious Watchers in the time preceding the Flood; he taught men the art of warfare, of making swords, knives, shields, and coats of mail, and taught women the art of deception by ornamenting the body, dyeing the hair, and painting the face and the eyebrows.
The whole earth became so corrupt that I can imagine they did experiments on different species of animals, so they became corrupt as well. (Meat eaters and violent) When God saw this wickedness, He decided that it must be ended.
“And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.” Genesis 6:5

What I think is most disturbing are the lies told...the book of Job is the first book ever written and that is knowledge. If people actually read the Bible they wouldn't believe the lies told today. Very specifically God questions Job saying, "who is this who darkens counsel with words without knowledge, now prepare yourself like a man, I will question you and you shall answer me." He specifically says to Job..."where were you, when I created these things?" We weren't there! We can't say how old the Earth is without God's word...He did these things, not us. We are mortal beings that God breathed life into. We can't take a thing like carbon dating and accurately get a reading, it's already been proven and it's flawed like us. This is what happens when people believe the Devils lies. We need to understand something and that is that fact that God's word is Historical evidence and our relationship with Him is most important and when we leave that relationship, we believe lies. Our relationship with Him in the Beginning was so pure...all we knew was God. The first thing Adam and Eve saw was God a beautiful relationship and then the enemy came in and we started listening to someone else's voice, just like we do today instead of listening to Our Father's Voice. Simply put, we weren't there when HE created everything, so, we cannot say when or how long ago...unless you listen to Him.

"In the case of understanding the facts of Evolution and how it's a fact that dinosaurs went extinct 65 million years ago, this is because there is evidence to believe so."
This is not fact, neither can be observed, and you believe it by faith.
"If you had been born somewhere else in the world, you would have been brought up with a totally different creation myth."
This is a very poor argument. I could say to you that if you were born in the middle east you would believe Allah created the world and not the big bang myth. Even if that were true, would it logically follow that the big bang is untrue? No, it wouldn't. Bad argument.

    • @michaelmannucci8585

@The Fading Frontier Ou, big words for someone who lives by faith.
Darwinian Macro-Evolution (no one really disputes micro-evolution), nor the dating of the dinosaurs, have "empirical evidence" because neither of those things can be observed. They're theoretical science. If you educated yourself, my friend, you wouldn't make a foolish comment like the Bible has "no evidence" to support it. This shows your ignorance on the subject.
"Facts do not care about feelings", is true, but facts also don't speak for themselves. All facts are subject to interpretation, there are no "brute facts". You have an atheistic worldview, you presuppose the non-existence of God, and therefore interpret all evidence in light of that pre-commitment. Any evidence for the super-natural you will dismiss as it doesn't fit the anti-supernatural worldview you came to the evidence with.
You're like the man who believes he is dead, so his family brings him to the doctor to convince him. The doctor asks "do dead men bleed?" and the man responds "no", so the doctor takes a needle and pricks his finger and he starts to bleed. The doctor says "look, you bleed". The man says "wow! I guess dead men do bleed!"
Your claim that there's "zero-evidence" for the Bible is laughably absurd, but the reason you say it is because you have a pre-commitment, like the man who believes he is dead, to an atheistic conclusion.
The Christian, of course, is no different, presupposing God in his interpretations of the evidences.
Both the Christian and the secularist live by faith, the only difference if you have convinced yourself that you are neutral and simply "follow the facts".
I am doubtful this wont go over your head, though.

There are no "sea dinosaurs", dinosauria is fully terrestrial, you are thinking of marine reptiles, they likely went extinct because of the asteroid as well, as it would have created enormous tsunamis. So at the time of the extinction event that wiped out the dinosaurs, the ancestors of whales would have been small mammalian rodent creatures, that could burrow and hide underground.
And that is why I am right and you are WRONG!

Just saying, I never stated if Ken Ham is right or wrong, and I also never stated that I believe in "religion". Don't classify it as a "religion", that is different. We're talking about the history of the world here. Also, try to think of this: Is there any evidence available to the present time in which we live in that *proves* that evolution theories of any sort are right? For example, if you were attempting to figure out if walls in your house exist, it would be pretty simple. Obviously, you can see walls, touch and feel them, break them, and more. But when you're trying to figure something out that *potentially* happened in the past, you need to make sure your methods of testing are good enough to give you accurate answers. So how do we do that? *We can't*. This is how it works: if you want to make sure something happened in the past, *you can't*. People nowadays (scientists) use machines and tools to figure out what had happened before, but you need to have *faith* in the methods and tools that you use to make sure they give you the right answer. So to put that fact in this argument, you said how you have studied dinosaurs your whole life (and I don't even know how old you are but that's besides the point) and that Ken Ham is wrong and you are right. The tools that scientists use are man-made, and not even humans know everything. We are having *faith* in the methods and tools we use to discovery things about any topic related to science, but in this case, this is where you need to have the most faith.

Eggs would have been taken. A lot of birds and reptiles bury eggs in compost, which heats up like an incubator. The largest egg to date is only half a meter long. That we have pix of them, carvings and casting around the world shows they were around after the flood. Soft tissues is a major proof. No carnivore till after the flood.
