    Who's buying the Logitech G Cloud, then?

    • @josevalenzuela142
      @josevalenzuela142 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not trying to be combative, but you conveniently, willingly, or otherwise by ignorance, omitted the fact that you CAN use Xbox Game Pass and GeForce Now on the Steam Deck, with modest 1-time tinkering. Why?... And well, for $399 for the Steam Deck, you can also install and play real games, which you can play offline at decent speeds.
      I'm not a Steam Deck chill, in fact I may be buying the Aya Neo Kun whenever that comes out, I'm more a fan of their designs, but it cannot be denied that the Steam Deck interface has been refined and polished to be simple and easy to use, as well as being feature-rich, and it's definitely very inviting to casual gamers and not at all exclusive to hardcore or committed gamers as you made it sound.
      Also, 720G and Android 11 for $500-$600??? I can't remember any other device being so dead on arrival, the Logitech G Cloud.
      Is this a paid spot from Logitech? Was this video sponsored by Logitech?

      @@josevalenzuela142 you clearly don’t understand how TH-cam works, therefore I should confirm that if this was sponsored, it would be declared in the video and the description.
      As for the Steam Deck, if it requires ‘modest 1-time tinkering’, that sounds like a hack or workaround, in which I personally have no interest.
      Thanks for offering your opinion on these two products - we’re all allowed them.

      Me, mine arrives tomorrow. I'm setting up a home server with decent gaming pc, Parsec, and boom with a decent internet I can access my Steam library from home, or anywhere. Also, pop an SD card in it and turn it into a retro games console. Long battery, unlike the steam deck and Ally, quiet, lightweight, ideal for me. Good review mate.

    This is not just cloud gaming. Is that it's focus absolutely. Some stuff you didn't touch on because you aren't a gamer is the fact that it can stream games from your computer, it comes preinstalled with steamlink and works a treat. The other huge market is that it can do emulation very well of consoles up to the ps2 generation. It has a micro SD card slot so you can jam an absolutely insane amount of games on it. Some notes for people using their phones to stream stuff which is possible is that most phones aspect ratio means even if you have a 6" screen usable display for some games is closer to 4".. then comes Bluetooth lag it is inherent in the tech and unavoidable.
    I actually don't use mine for cloud stuff at all just play my Xbox console games and steam library remotely on top of the emulation.
    Cheers

    For me I am excited by this device and it fits my needs here:
    1. I am a minimalist who doesn't want big tv/monitor gaming setups. I like my switch and portable devices that don't take up too much space in my house and I can take with me. I also don't like to 'own' games and would prefer to subscribe to a streaming service like game pass and not have to worry about building a collection that will one day be outdated with free emulators etc. I can't be stuffed building a collection where I am always wanting more and paying more per game. I would rather pay a stable fee and have em all there for me.
    2. It has a much better battery than the switch and the steam deck. This is kinda a big deal for me
    3. It runs android. I can listen to music or my audible books if I want. I can download my board game apps as well. Like castles of burgundy, Concordia etc.
    4. For on the go- I can download ds, 3ds, 64 and gamecube emulators and have fun
    5. I am a serious gamer in terms of dedicating a lot of time to specific games- Elden Ring/Souls, Elder Scrolls, Zelda, FIFA, NBA 2k. For that I can buy a switch and steam deck. However for most of my gaming away from those 3 series loves and sports games I am pretty casual and just wanna boot up some fun games whether that be on game pass or emulators. I don't wanna think too much about it- just have fun
    6. The switch and the deck both just don't cut it for me and my gaming needs at the moment. I hope I have explained why this device is for me

    If this was £200 then yes it would be a great addition, but at the same price (or more!) as a Switch which can run games whenever and wherever - a cheap android phone and controller would do just as well

    Maybe i can add to the debate of whom or why people would buy this handheld, i have previously owned a steam deck and switch, and i use this device mostly for times away from my main computer and for work, i work nights and the main reason i choose this over the others is the screen, it is a joy to look at and better then the steam deck, maybe not the oled switch, but while working i use my G cloud for retro gaming with a 1 TB sd card full of games, and correct me if i am wrong the switch is not a great retro emulator and don't have xbox cloud,steam link and Geforce now, so that is the reason i use/play the G cloud....

    Cool vid. Would love to see more mobile gaming alternatives. Im kinda interested in the G Cloud to get Steam games easily but not sure I’d bother at the price. Keep my Switch most likely.

    I recently sold my Backbone controller in favour of using my iPad Mini + Dual Sense as a combo to play PS5 games remotely. This is a really clever idea from LG but far too expensive to make it appealing to the ‘average’ gamer.

    My son has a Xbox series S with a Xbox Live ultimate account. This, like you say, would be great for 'grazing' on a few games now and again. As we already have a Xbox Ultimate account, some of the ongoing cost is already accounted for. Years ago (Sega Megadrive/PS1) I would play games for hours on the TV. Now I am much older, playing on a TV doesn't interest me one bit so I would say I am one of it's target markets. £350 may be a bit pricey. I'm interested though...............

    This seems perfect for me. Just like you haven’t played games in many years. So having this completely “all in one” and portable device to get back in is a great option . I just hope I don’t have connection problems!😅

    I stream geforce now during lectures in college....and trust 12 hours of battery with no heat is better than subpar gaming on a laptop unplugged or the rog ally

  • @louisefindlay23
    @louisefindlay23 ปีที่แล้ว

    True. There are different types of games available on Switch vs the G Cloud (or cloud streaming). Though there's probably more games suited for the casual demographic on the Switch and while I agree casual gamers probably don't have a lot of time, I do wonder if the limited catalog of games available (what's on Xbox Cloud Gaming and Nvidia) without using Shadow (which is more technically involved) would be a factor. Assuming the casual market that wouldn't be able to stream from an existing console or have a backlog of PC titles.
    One of the key points of a handheld is the portability which you mentioned won't really work with the G Cloud's need for the internet. Quite pricey considering the Kishi and the Backbone.
    Overall, I'm not the target market since I have and love my Steam Deck and Switch. Curious as to how Logitech will sell this considering the casual mobile gaming market.

    Whilst this hardware looks nice, and xcloud works well, there is no competition between this or the Steam Deck / Switch. I think almost everybody would be better off with either of those devices. The ability to play anywhere offline is key. And while you do have to buy the games, the choice is much wider. You might well be right with your take that more casual gamers could like it. Love the video though. Really happy to see this kind of content on your channel!

    I am thinking about getting the logitech g cloud I have Xbox and a gaming laptop as well but sometimes I don't like taking my gaming laptop when I go on vacation with the family because it makes my backpack gem heavier then it is that's why I am looking at the Logitech g cloud to game on as well as game when I go on vacation with the family and maybe when I home but I use my gaming laptop more then my Xbox when I am home and the other hand held pc gaming system I am looking at is the Razer edge 5 g or the Razer edge WiFi
