I just got my Nord Rack 2 for AU$600, about US$400. It’s an Excellent synthesiser. It’s a pity there are no built in effects. Put through an effects unit, this synthesiser sounds mind blowing. Reverb, delay, chorus, flanger and combinations of effects give every patch a new lease of life.
thank you! we want more. for example - how to make percusive sounds (not the percusive mode but to make perc synth - kicks, snares..) how to make fat basslines. just bought this synth. pathes are ok but too oldschool. but after tweaking become interesting. sound of this synth is so nice. so big and fat there not many nord rack videos on you tube. so thabk you for that
@@optoproductions That sounds really great. Another thing that could really help users of this synth is a video on the "boring stuff". Like the 4 parts and then performances, copy and paste and save, the menus, midi sync for arpeggios, midi cc and other stuff like this which is arguably the most difficult part of the synth to learn. Thanks for responding - Looks like you have a lot of good videos on your channel I'll be taking a look at.
@@arpaddanos9416 I will do that! I forgot the word 'first' in my previous comment, but I'll definitely make another video about all the advanced options. Thanks for the suggestions 😀
@@optoproductions Sounds great, I like the way you do your videos, no 5 minutes of yapping at the beginning, just jump into a good video manual. Your nord 2 video series could be the go-to for new and existing owners of this classic synth
How do you tempo sync the arp to your project etc? I have a problem with a Nord 2 Rack where it sounds like the lfo or the arp is stuck ON constantly and every single patch sounds terrible because of this.. cant turn it off and just play notes and chords.. any suggestions?
If you send a MIDI clock, you can set the clock division via the shift menu for lfo1 or 2. It's labeled on the right hand side. If you press shift + arp it will Hold the notes forever untill you disable it with shift + arp again. But maybe you're experiencing sticky buttons? Mine is getting old and the buttons need to be cleaned as they don't respond well any more.
@@hauymusic even if you set the rate to 12 o' clock? Then the problem probably lies elsewhere. What DAW are you using? Are you sure you're sending out MIDI clock?
Hello excellent video. My question is can I use SysEx library with my Nord Rack 2? Yes, I was able to sync my patches to the computer but not the other way around. 😢😢😢 I need to make a copy of some programs
Hey there! Thanks for posting this, I have a question about the unit itself, do you know if the power supply inside is modular? IE, it can be swapped to different voltages without adaptors?
Best instrument I had so far , loving it ❤
Just got mine.
Thank you
Nice have fun with it :)
Nice one!! Thank you.
Thank you so much for posting this!

That's a great deal! Indeed a bit of effects can go a long way with this synth 😃
Excellent tutorial. Any further Nord Rack 2 info. very much appreciated, Thanks!
Thanks for this. I always knew the theory, but never the application on my 2x, which I've owned (embarrassingly) for 18 years.
Nothing embarassing about that, this synth has so many features, I often forget half of it 😅

Great video here. I would certainly be interested to see your Part 2 for this, showing advanced functionality
Sure will do 😀 I think I'll make a separate video about the drum mode as you can do very cool things with just that alone

I’ve tried using the shift function to sync the arp but no success. Any advice please? Thanks for the video!

I haven't tried that but I'll make an advanced setup tutorial soon so I'll look into it 👍

Hey my unit has an internal transformer, but I can't see if it's switchable
@@optoproductions Ah, i see, no worries! thanks for replying!
