    Great video Cal. Its interesting with the gym, the price for Jetts in BKK is very similar to Australia where I live. I thought it would be cheaper there. However there is the fantastic Gym opposite T21 where I visit every time I am there, thats worth the price any day. The top floor is my favourite, looks like yours too.

    $1700 is much more than what my expenses are in Sweden. I live alone in a 3-room apartment with a large garden. Have no debts or loans. Paying $620 for the apartment and electricity is included, $25 for fiber internet 100/100, Food and beer between $380 and $470 or less. The only thing that would be added if I lived in Bangkok is health insurance, which we don't need in Sweden as healthcare is basically free, you only pay between $10 and $14 regardless of whether it's a visit to a health center for a prescription or a major heart operation.

    • @thebangkokguide

    • @thebangkokguide
      @thebangkokguide  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It’s a good question. You’ll save a little bit on rent, but if you want more space for two people it’s not much cheaper. Overbuilding of smaller units means they seem to go for inordinately cheaper than larger ones. For example the 2 bedrooms in my condo are more than double the price 🤷‍♂️ You’ll def save on hotels and taxis. I’d personally lean towards $3k as a reasonable estimate.

    How can you spent that much with a rent of nearly 12% of your budget only ?

      You can find very good value with relatively inexpensive condos. I just prefer to spend my money on other stuff!

    That's more than enough per month ! !! most Thai people earn less than 35,000 bath per month !

    Dude, if your budgeting $1700 US a month. Then that's not really budgeting in Thailand.

      Yeah I’ve lived on much lower budgets here. I’ll make another video about the time I really lived on a shoestring budget. But I’ve been here for over 7 years and this is more just my spending for a comfortable life now.
