You know - I used to bust balls on guitar hero because my thinking was: “why put so much effort into learning to play a game controller when the same effort could actually be invested into playing a real guitar?” Then I saw the drums version, and realized…the game could actually train a drummer to stay in the pocket, which is without a doubt, the most valuable skill a drummer could have. Hooray for flashy fills and blasting double bass beats but staying in the pocket and driving the song is the skill to have. I still question the games value regarding the guitar controller (except for fun, of course) but for drummers, there is without a doubt a real value.
By playing the Guitar hero world tour drum kit with expert plus literally taught me my drumming fundamentals. I remembered songs how they were positioned my kit, it was life changing
Played Guitar hero for 5 years on the controller as a kid before getting enough money to buy a real one and I must say - while it doesn't exactly teach you much about finding your way on the real guitar it sure as hell speeds up the learning process because your hands are already fairly coordinated together and you have some dexterity. Obviously the rhythm is also already developed, so It's not totally useless. I remember my friend who bought the same guitar as me on the same day quit a few months into it because he just couldn't figure out how to pick or do anything with his right hand, something that Guitar Hero Metallica taught me to do a long time ago lol

I really want to get back into doing drums :). Just got to find me a nice affordable kit that also won't be to loud for my neighbors since I live in a apartment 😂. Would get another pro Rockband drum set, but.. I broke the pedals so many times and the red pad went out last time. Not to mention they seem so expensive now to find with the cymbals 🤔

dumb question here xD I never played drums on gh but I know the drumkit has 5 pads to play (3 toms and 2 cymbals), so I never knew how is it that sometimes there are only 4 like in this video, I can't imagine developers saying: "hey let's make some charts with just 4 pads in case people use the rockband drumkit and not ours" haha :'v so what's the main reason? thanks.
Alex Ávila Rock Band kits start out with just four pads, but for the pro players, a lot of the time they add cymbals to the RB kit to make it feel more comfortable. And GH kits come standard with the cymbals on there, it’s just how they’re made. The only thing you can add on a GH kit is another pedal for double bass.

Buy you another pedal for the guitar hero drum kits and get you an adapter to plug into. It can plug in both of the pedals then plug it into the drum kit.

I don't know if you see it but for me those games are complete shit. They don't visualize anything proper in terms of touch points for instruments. It's either you play what the game is expecting or you play the actual sounds. Tell me why I feel like that? Or is it like a kind of delay? Lag?
In order to play this you have to not be able to play the drums. Fooling yourself with one of these games will make you not able to play actual drums. Period
