is that not hard coated? I would never run poly uncoated in the front, rear maybe, but not front. If it is coated, this much care and carefullness isint needed.
@@Mikeyhoncho1 I ride where lots of dirt and mud trails so that's why mine didn't last. I load manual wiper and even rinsed most the dirt before using it. Still small scratches. Glad yours is working well
@@PNWOffroadAdventuresI put a Cooter Brown hard coated windshield on RZR for my daughter in southern WV with a manual wiper for 6+ years now. She keeps it covered in mud and wipes it constantly with the wiper, cleans the inside with Windex and a squeegee usually a couple of times each ride when it's dusty and to keep it clear when raining especially at night. The only scratches she has are from flipping it and it slid over some rocks once that cut a few deep groves into it. I think wherever you bought yours from must've accidentally sent you a windshield without any coating in it.
@@SuperATVMedia I mean, I cant believe that there is as many as there are and no one seems to have anything to protect them.... it's weird! I guess people think that if you dont have the money to spend 2k on an enclosure, you must not want to protect your $500 one. 😖☹
Well what is gentle dish soap, i think the majority of people come here to find out what product to use, the rest is somewhat intuitive... dawn dish soap to me isn't "gentle" dish soap as it has chemicals in it that strip wax and other protective coatings off of paint, so what is gentle dish soap, can you just tell us what you used or at least hint at it?
Our scratch resistant windshields are hard coated, but that does not make them scratch proof. This video will help you prolong the life of your polycarbonate windshield whether it has the XR Optic scratch resistant coating or not.
@@SuperATVMedia I've watched your video that says it needs to be dry cleaned or you risk scratching it. Way to absolve yourself from all liability and yes I do have a Super ATV windshield installed in my sxs. I'm not talking about grinding mud into the windshield with a dirty rag that I used to clean my wheels either.
If your windshield is covered in thick mud, it is recommended to saturate the mud with clean water until it rinses off completely before wiping the poly down.
Leaf blower after rinsing to remove all remaining water droplets. Works very good.
That's a great idea!
Thanks for one of the only informative videos I found on the topic 😄👌🏾
Glad it was helpful!
Blotting with the shami? And you sat there and wiped it? Too funny.
Lol 😆...welp we're all human 😂
I immediately came to the comments when I saw that lol

Thanks for the feedback! Providing you are using a clean chamois, wiping shouldn't be an issue.
Was wondering what would you use to remove frost or ice build up in winter on the windshield or to prevent it the night before?
Just lay a piece of cardboard, rug or old floor mats over it as the night before option
This is the reason why I finally went with a glass windshield
Yes, don't waste your money on plastic
Glass cracks. Unless you’re not riding hard with other people you might have luck.
Until it breaks, cracks, chips and you need to replace it. Lexan can easily be cleaned and scratches removed, and it is harder to break or chip.

what if your poly windshield is hard coated like the superatv flip up? Can you run a wiper on that?
Plexus Plastic Cleaner, the best stuff ever
This comment is better than the entire video. Thank you
Super informative!!
Thanks for the feedback!
wow i did all those except windex! no power washing or trail squeegee?
Power washing and squeegees are not a good idea on polycarbonate.
I've taken my rzr out 3 times since I've had it it gets covered with mud every time
Sounds like a great time! Be sure to follow the steps in this video to prolong the life of your windshield!
If you have this as your windshield for your car and you daily it how do you use your windshield blades?
We do not recommend using a wiper blade on a polycarbonate windshield.
@@SuperATVMedia what do you recommend using if that windshield is in my car now for my race car
I have the Super Atv Maxdrive windsheild and the instructions say you can use rubbing alcohol to clean. Am i ruining my windshield?
No! Rubbing alcohol works to remove any sticky substances on your poly.

They still scratch. I had one. Never again.
@@PNWOffroadAdventures no issues with mine. I run a electric wiper, and wash is however I want minus windex, zero scratches

Funny how the clips of the buggy going through the woods doesn't show it getting dirty at all.😁

Can’t find the XR coating on your sight??
XR Optic coating is added to the poly in the manufacturing process of our scratch resistant windshields.

I spent $580 on a polycarbonate windshield for my x3, went mudding an got scratched to absolute shit. Buying glass from now on
Unfortunately, if you want a scratch proof material, glass is the only way to go.
Never buy one that doesn't have scratch guard protection on it
Can’t you not buff out clear plastics? like on headlight covers.
Polycarbonate care info is EVERYWHERE!! Maybe help us by telling us how to care for soft plastic UTV windows.
J
Soft plastic as in what's on a soft cab enclosure? We can see if we can put something together!

To avoid water spots, Do Not Do This In DIRECT Sunlight.

Baby soap or liquid Ivory soap are both good options.
Baby shampoo is a gentle soap you may want to consider.

Great information for cleaning an already clean windshield on a nice sunny day. Not really helpful for anyone who is actually using their machine.
The same procedure applies for a dirty windshield.
Lmao. Show it with a muddy disgusting windshield
