@shanerose7204 Ghost Rider hurt, like a lot. Bruce Banner and Beast only felt it during transformation but Ghost Rider will still felt the burning sensation and that whole insanity of seeing sinners in GR form. Think of it like combination of both physically and psychologically. Rogue had once absorbed Johnny's power in one the comics, she regretted it and begging Johnny to take it back. The fact that concept of multiverse already implemented around Marvel and MCU just makes it whole a lot better. You can't hate this version of GR anymore cause it's canon event.
I love that this Johnny Blaze is all but certainly the one who shows up in Agents of Shield when Robbie Reyes makes his deal, based on the style of the bike.
Nicholas Cage pushed to play Ghost Rider because he is a fan of the Comic and he felt that he could do the character justice with his crazyness and Nic-things. Also the skull is an exact replica of Nics actual skull from an MRI.
My favorite part about the transformation sequence is that, like Wolverine, they really sell that this isn't painless. He's literally burning from the inside out, his brain boiling, his mind fracturing as it bonds with the Spirit of Vengeance. Sure, he gets used to it, and maybe it gets easier when he embraces it, but he still feels every bit of it.
I love how they did the graphics for the Penance Stare, as well as the mechanics of it. Turning someone's sins around on them and burning out their eyeballs in the process is a worse fate than death, in my mind.

I remember watching this movie in theaters at nine years old. I didn't know it was a Marvel movie since I was so used to the light-hearted movies at the time. I have been waiting to see the character again.
You asked the question at 25:47, “How do you ensure the jacket doesn’t catch on fire?” In the comic book, Ghost Rider’s flame is metaphysical, not physical. That was always the writers explanation of as to why GR’s threads never got burned. And if you read the actual comic, there was a character called Caretaker, and I think that’s who Sam Elliot played.
Nicholas Cage was born for this role. Peter Fonda also made an excellent Mephisto. Heck, the entire cast is 🔥! You kept calling him Johnny Storm, but it's Johnny Blaze!
My dad is an electric guitar player and he used to play and sing the Ghost Riders in the Sky as sang by Marty Robbins. It is one of my favorite memories. This movie uses an updated version of that song at the end. Of course I loved this movie!

You definitely need to watch "Punisher: War Zone (2008)". It's very violent, unique in its tone and out there! I will recommend it again when you do eventually your watch of Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (2011) which is a better movie when you not consider it being a sequel to this but rather a reboot with the same actor
7:59 This was a recreation of an actual crash that stunt cyclist Evel Kneivel did in his career. Evel Kneivel broke almost every bone in his body from that stunt.
The Cage name Nic got from is Luke Cage to separate from his famous uncle Franics Ford Coppola. Also you get to see New Zealand actor Joel Tolbeck from Hercules and Xena playing a minor thug in this film.
What I love about Ghost Rider is that he is a literal powerhouse. His power is limitless Johnny is just a limiter that keeps the rider in check. Not to mention anything a ghost rider touches or drives becomes his "Ride" or deadly weapon. Also because his fire is "Hell Fire" he can damage and kill almost anyone including Meta-Humans with healing factors. Ghost Rider is truly one of the most underrated badass Marvel characters!

Lots of cool scenes in this one. I find it funny how easily dispatched the henchmen were 😂 💀 🔥
The best scene in the film to me will always be when Johnny realizes the old man is not only Carter Slade..but that hes also a Ghost Rider.. as they both transform and ride off into the darkness.. As a kid this film was so hauntingly beautiful! One of my favorites of all time..
I absolutely love this movie, right up there with Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man for favorite comic book movies from my childhood Ever since watching this movie I almost exclusively pronounce “Italian” in that goofy way That first transformation scene is SO GOOD!! Nic Cage’s over the top acting, the choir music, the visuals! Everything is just 👌🏻🔥🔥 Fun fact: they actually set his boots on fire for that one shot That was in fact Rebel Wilson and iirc it was actually her big film debut “Forgive me Father for I have sinned. I’ve sinned a lot” Wes’ delivery of that line is perfect The 2 Riders riding through the desert while Spiderbait’s cover of Ghost Riders in the Sky plays is phenomenal. RIP the lizard tho 🙏🏻🦎 “My name is Legion. For we are maaaannnyyy” creepy. I love it I watched Spirit of Vengeance once in theaters and I remember not liking it. But I should rewatch it just to better gauge how I feel about it 🤔
My favorite part of the movie was when both Ghost Riders heading to San Venganza with Riders in the Sky playing over the scene. Like it's the ultimate culmination of the song created by Stan Jones.
This movie is so good. May be the first movie I saw in theaters, though most of what I remember is seeing the Spider-Man 3 trailer in front of it and the awesome Spider Bait song at the end of the movie. Spider-Man 3 is far more nostalgia and I have far more childhood memories of it. But Ghost Rider is still a fun movie I enjoy. Also, same composer did both movies (plus Hellraiser). I love the Spider-Man 3 score, and I definitely hear similar music in Ghost Rider. And this one is for Erik Voss, MEPHISTO!
When Ghost Rider makes his way into the MCU, I hope they bring back Nick Cage. We've had a Spider-Man team up, now let's get all the Ghost Rider's together.
21:48 In an interview (one of those "actor answers the internets most searched questions") Nicolas Cage confirmed that is his real body in that scene. He also said that because everyone thinks it's cgi he'll never put the effort into getting in shape for a movie again.

25:40 “How do you ensure the Jacket doesn’t catch fire” Anything that he puts on, automatically becomes “hellish”, or in other words, a *part* of him, even more so when he customizes it like he does with the spikes. This applies to clothing, vehicles, and even other weapons, should he happen to pick up say…a pistol or a rifle, it automatically becomes imbued with his essence, binding it to his will, just like the Hell-cycle/Cosmic-cycle
Mark 40:02. In "Practical Magic" Nicole Kidman's Witch used her her magic to also drive cross-country like that to get to her family home without causing collateral damage. But in both examples, I'm reminded of that movie company logo. 🤔
Some backstory on the comics, Johnny Blaze made a deal with Mephisto to save his father, Mephisto In return fused Johnny's soul with the demon Zarathos, ever since johnny and others have to spend eternity collecting souls for mephisto.
Donal Logue portrayed Quinn in the 1st Blade movie 9 years prior to this one, and Sam Elliott portrayed Thaddeus 'Thunderbolt' Ross in 2003's Hulk only 4 years prior to this movie. Of course, Elliott was the first to portray Betty Ross' father before the now late actor William Hurt had taken the role in part of a long lineup of comic book adaptations in what is currently known as the Marvel Cinematic Universe!!!!
I’d like to see characters like this pop up in Secret Wars. I’ve always wanted to see Wesley Snipes’ Blade, Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Patrick Stewart’s Professor X, Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, & RDJ’s Iron Man sharing a screen as the pillars of the superhero genre. Throw in Chris Evans, Andrew Garfield, & great FOX characters like Deadpool & Michael Fassbender’s Magneto. I’m not holding my breath on RDJ, Snipes, or Evans, but I could definitely see the others (FoX-Men & Spider-Men) banking off an Avengers crossover decades in the making. Then they can hit a multiversal reboot with a new cast of Mutants + potentially a new take on other MCU heroes that have been portrayed before.
Mark 50:56. "Prison"? That was just a temporary holding cell at the police station. That's why it had so many guys in it. Communities and counties have jail facilities. You don't go to prison until you're at the state and federal levels. Granted, because of overcrowding, there have been transfers.

Tara: “I loved when that guy got melted”
A few moments later: “I don’t even remember the first villain.”
I’m so glad you guys enjoyed this it was amazing seeing people actually enjoying this movie lol it’s so entertaining
It's about time all the non-mcu marvel movies got the recognition they deserve
I just love that I'm not the only one that mixes up Johnny Storm and Johnny Blaze.
I mean concept art shows he was initially going to be part of the Illuminati in MoM
@@mattdoesntknowwhattodowith5760 thank God he wasn't,they would have massacred him like they did the others.
Mark 50:56. "Prison"? That was just a temporary holding cell at the police station. That's why it had so many guys in it. Communities and counties have jail facilities. You don't go to prison until you're at the state and federal levels. Granted, because of overcrowding, there have been transfers.
38:46 I always say it’s funny but cool and I like that the devil kept his side of the deal and Johnny is the one who betrays him
7:32 CRAZY TRAIN
