This. I'm struggling so bad right now. I went impatient a year ago while I was still in the military. 11 different psychiatric disorders, genius IQ, and insomnia(both hypo and hyper). Getting out may've been just as tough, though. I just can't seem to find me right now.

I found Blue October when I was about 13 or 14, the hardest part of my depression. At 27, I'm now married with the most perfect little 4 year old boy.
This song made me cry because things really do get better. Even if it takes a long time.

Wow! How cool is that song? The posts i have read have been from men. All positive! My boyfriend of almost 2 yrs., came into the room while this song was playing. He had never heard it before. He stopped in his tracks & said, "what a powerful song!" We both are in our fifties. We both had kids with our former spouses. We were both single parents. When i looked at my boyfriend as he listened to this song, i was reminded again of why i love him dearly. We both treasure our kids, & the experience of raising them. This song, "Home", is what it is, simply beautiful!!

This song helped me tremendously in the darkest of times! Unfortunately it had a twist in my story. I played it for my wife before leaving to treatment for addiction letting her know this was the goal in my life. When i got out, however, she decided it was time to move on with her life.
I still listen to this song daily and continue my daily practice to remain clean and sober. The lyrics are a reminder of the things that can be possible living a clean life.

This is the song I sing to my 4 month old when he is upset I’ve been singing it to him since I was pregnant. It’s the song that that soothes him. It also was the song that soothed my now 4 year old when he was a baby, he still dances in the kitchen with his momma to it. It makes me so happy that this is the same person who wrote and sang hate me and into the ocean. It really shows how life gets better.
My wife and I are in the hospital right now getting ready to have our first child and this song makes my heart leap with joy with the fact that very soon I am going to be a daddy and will get to experience this love and bonding of a family.

I have 3 months off opiods, for a while I lost my wife, my children, almost lost our home. I was a cop I got hurt and they sent me to pain management, I thought because I went to Dr's I wasn't a addict. Then I found Jesus waiting for me, I became born again. I put my life in God's hands stopped going to pain management started going to church and celebrate recovery. I'm blessed to say I have my wife back my children back and my savior back. This song is truly my life song. For anyone out there struggling your not alone, THERE IS HOPE.

My husband is a cop and he refuses pain medication because he is so afraid of this scenario. It breaks my heart to see him in pain when he gets hurt.

Damn dude! This is awesome! I got out the joint 9 years ago now. 4 kids, good job, loving wife, a good relationship with my mom and dad, real FRIENDS. I've never looked back. Not to say I don't still have some deeply rooted struggles with certain things but my boys and my wife are my favorite things in life. My youngest is 3 and the way he watches me and does everything I do makes me stay on point with my life. Words don't describe that kind of love that I feel but your face in this video says it all! I'm so genuinely happy to see others break away from the darkness that haunted them!

And sometimes it fits... it just does. Hate Me came out in a very hard time in my life. A lot of loss. Home comes out at a time where we are focused on rebuilding our lives, on home and while things are not perfect me and mine are very optimistic.

i have not heard of this singing group/band. But when i heard the song HOME and i reviewed the video , I can tell that the lead vocalist has put all of his feelings into the song, and that i can FEEL the emotions that he brings to the audience. I do love this song.
Blue October are mostly known for their big hit "Hate Me" which is a depressing, angry song. Most of their songs deal with thoughts of suicide, angry or depression related themes. However, this album and Sway tend to be more upbeat than their previous. I welcome the change.
That is what I've always loved about this band. I can feel with each song. You can tell the music comes. You can hear the emotions behind them. They are pure and raw in so many ways.

From someone who was really young when Hate me came out, during a time in my life where I did not want to be here any longer, their music has been many anthems in my life. When Fear came out it was anthem during a time where I was in a not so good relationship with children and then came Home. I just kept wishing one day mama is going to have this for my children. Finally, 3 years ago, I found a way out and am now married to a great guy who is truly my home. Thank you, Blue October, for all the songs that have brought me through this life.

I've followed this band for as long as i can remember, since their first album, even when they weren't officially a band and went by another name, and every year i'm more and more proud of them. They're the best band there is, the most honest, raw and beautiful, genuine group in the world. I'm so glad they're reaching a little more mainstream recognition this song/album. Years ago I was going through one of the most difficult times of my life, I had just lost my kids. Blue October was playing in Omaha Nebraska. I went but the fire marshal said too many people had shown for the concert it was a small venue. Very few stayed after that, I was one of them standing outside in the rain. After the show was over and everyone had disbursed I finally got to go inside. While I was standing at the bar ordering a drink you walked behind the bartender to go out the back carrying a beautiful curly haired little girl she couldn't have been more then 3. A precious moment I never forgot, seeing a superstar being a good dad. I came to hear you play but got so much more. Thank you.

I'm 32 and came from a broken home. My loving caring mother passed away from cancer when I was 13 and my dad just abandoned us after. He wasn't the best dad, but he worked a lot and put food on the table for us. My older siblings took care of us younger ones after he left.
I had stopped crying to sad songs in my early 20's and thought I had overcome my childhood trauma. When I heard this song for the first time I cried like never before and finally went to therapy for help.
I still cry when I hear this song, but I'm doing better now more than ever thanks to this song.
The lyrics display a deep understanding of what childhood is like... for a child, seeing and knowing that your parents love each other (as well as you), you can have peace and comfort and the kind of childhood every child deserves... no stress and fear and burdens keeping them from fully enjoying and loving life. The best line is, "we get to do it over again". That is childhood exactly, as it should be anyway. Life is simple, and every day is new... they just want to do it all over again, there is no boredom in repetition if what is being repeated is at it's heart good.

My 3 year-old is having brain surgery in Feb. The last few months has been crazy for our family. Only took once to hear and started bawling. my husband and i got into drugs heavily in the beginning of our relationships and everyone trying to rip us apart but amongst everything and everyone around us, we stayed true to each other. got clean, have three beautiful babies together, got married and now here we are keeping our family tight and most important priority!!! and even though we had a lot of rough patches, the dances in the kitchen to no music were my favorite moments, knowing no matter what we were gonna be ok!!!

Angel of death He performed at Lake Hills Church in Northwest Austin with just one other performer this past Sunday morning 1/7/17 for the 9:00 and 11:00 service. I was there, I'm a member of the church. His story was spellbinding and his performance left not a dry eye in the house. I could possibly track down a video if you like?

He spoke of being at rehab and praying for God to give him a sign and he recounted that a bee came down and kept buzzing around him and then dived into a barrel of poison. He felt that God was telling him that he was that bee. I'm telling you that the whole crowd was hushed and in tears after that.
Hearing this song after hearing "hate me" makes me really hope he's finally living the kind of life depicted here. That hes the picture of what the other side of addiction and/or depression is, that the eternal struggle to laps or ruminate is manageable.

I listen to this song almost everyday. I have been a fan of yalls since Hate Me. I still listen to all your music. But this song just uplifts my mood so much. My boyfriend and I are talking about getting married and I told him this is my wedding song because everytime I hear it, I'm just so happy and thankful for my family and the support I have. Blue October gives you life!
I have listened to Blue October since I was like 8. I'm now 20, married and with my first baby. I hadn't listened to it in maybe a year. My baby was asleep and me and my husband were dancing in the kitchen. This song started playing in my head out of nowhere and I just cried, looked at my husband and said "this is what I have always wanted." This song is part of my life sound track:) love yall

My parents were together for 20 years before they spit. Both are crazy blue October fans. Both show up to the same blue October meet and greet and show every year. They both introduced me to the world. But this song kills me every time I hear it. Growing up in a great (amazing) family until I left the house after 18. I hurts me to hear the chorus. But as many other songs it helps me so much.
Growing up Dallas, Blue O meant so much to me. I could do with just playing these songs in the dark over and over. Having moved to Scotland 20 years ago, my wife does not understand. I do wish she did. I think she would have grown up 90s Texas with me to understand how fucked up we were and what we came through to get out.

Listening to this song makes me wonder what it would have been like to grow up with a family like you described in this song. My parents were always fighting. The lyrics "Daddy loves momma and momma loves him" hits me really deep and I truly hope my son feels like this song is how his home was when he grows up. Thank you for making beautiful music.
I feel you. My father was mostly absent. When he was present he was abusive. I wondered for years what it would have been like to have a loving father. Now I’m at peace with it and think …good thing my mom had enuf love to cover his lack of it. She died unexpectedly two years ago next week and my heart aches for her every minute of every day.

I don't know if the actual band reads this but i want to thank them. My mother passed 6 days before christmas this year. A few friends took my mother to see your concert and to meet you earlier last year or 2019. When she passed she still had a picture of the concert as her phone background. It meant the world to my mom to meet you at a meet and greet. I just want to say thank you for being an important part of my moms life and giving her so much inspiration to be the person she wanted to be.
