This. I'm struggling so bad right now. I went impatient a year ago while I was still in the military. 11 different psychiatric disorders, genius IQ, and insomnia(both hypo and hyper). Getting out may've been just as tough, though. I just can't seem to find me right now.
I found Blue October when I was about 13 or 14, the hardest part of my depression. At 27, I'm now married with the most perfect little 4 year old boy. This song made me cry because things really do get better. Even if it takes a long time. To anyone who is struggling, don't be afraid to reach out for help and please trust me when I say. Things do get better. ❤
Wow! How cool is that song? The posts i have read have been from men. All positive! My boyfriend of almost 2 yrs., came into the room while this song was playing. He had never heard it before. He stopped in his tracks & said, "what a powerful song!" We both are in our fifties. We both had kids with our former spouses. We were both single parents. When i looked at my boyfriend as he listened to this song, i was reminded again of why i love him dearly. We both treasure our kids, & the experience of raising them. This song, "Home", is what it is, simply beautiful!!

This song helped me tremendously in the darkest of times! Unfortunately it had a twist in my story. I played it for my wife before leaving to treatment for addiction letting her know this was the goal in my life. When i got out, however, she decided it was time to move on with her life. I still listen to this song daily and continue my daily practice to remain clean and sober. The lyrics are a reminder of the things that can be possible living a clean life.
It doesn't matter what they sing I get teary eyed! I love their sound but it hits in such a raw place for me. I'm never sure if I'm in a good enough place to listen to them. Love this song and can't wait to share it with my husband.

There's something so beautiful and special about finally finding happiness after years of pain and depression. It's like those of us who have real demons like this get to experience a different kind of happiness when we get better than those who haven't been through it.
I've been through so many years of the up's and down's , having my husband of 17 years die in 2007...and it started all over again with my dad's death. You have to keep strong...don't be like me. 😢
If you've listened to Blue October for a couple of years, Justin feels like a friend at this point. And as a friend, I'm glad to hear his doing better.
My wife and I are in the hospital right now getting ready to have our first child and this song makes my heart leap with joy with the fact that very soon I am going to be a daddy and will get to experience this love and bonding of a family.

the band got softer as Justin started winning his mental fight. He is a happy man now, and this is why we see this side. he's an amazing guy, saw him in concert and he said he sings his old songs because he knows he's helping someone who is going through the same shit he did.

Damn dude! This is awesome! I got out the joint 9 years ago now. 4 kids, good job, loving wife, a good relationship with my mom and dad, real FRIENDS. I've never looked back. Not to say I don't still have some deeply rooted struggles with certain things but my boys and my wife are my favorite things in life. My youngest is 3 and the way he watches me and does everything I do makes me stay on point with my life. Words don't describe that kind of love that I feel but your face in this video says it all! I'm so genuinely happy to see others break away from the darkness that haunted them!

Hearing this song after hearing "hate me" makes me really hope he's finally living the kind of life depicted here. That hes the picture of what the other side of addiction and/or depression is, that the eternal struggle to laps or ruminate is manageable.

I just seen Justin two nights ago. He was in such a great mood! The last time I seen him he hardly wanted to talk. He is getting better and better with his mental health. This song inspires me so much. I dont have kids but thats not the point... the point of this song is to love and appreciate the little things you have and the fantastic people in your life and build a "home" from your heart rather than from money and greed. i have not heard of this singing group/band. But when i heard the song HOME and i reviewed the video , I can tell that the lead vocalist has put all of his feelings into the song, and that i can FEEL the emotions that he brings to the audience. I do love this song.
Blue October are mostly known for their big hit "Hate Me" which is a depressing, angry song. Most of their songs deal with thoughts of suicide, angry or depression related themes. However, this album and Sway tend to be more upbeat than their previous. I welcome the change.
That is what I've always loved about this band. I can feel with each song. You can tell the music comes. You can hear the emotions behind them. They are pure and raw in so many ways.
I cried listening to this 8 years ago pregnant, hoping this could be my life. Fast forward 8 years...beautiful life and happy tears listening this time. If you can dream it, you can do it.
I've followed this band for as long as i can remember, since their first album, even when they weren't officially a band and went by another name, and every year i'm more and more proud of them. They're the best band there is, the most honest, raw and beautiful, genuine group in the world. I'm so glad they're reaching a little more mainstream recognition this song/album. They're so wonderful.

And sometimes it fits... it just does. Hate Me came out in a very hard time in my life. A lot of loss. Home comes out at a time where we are focused on rebuilding our lives, on home and while things are not perfect me and mine are very optimistic.
The lyrics display a deep understanding of what childhood is like... for a child, seeing and knowing that your parents love each other (as well as you), you can have peace and comfort and the kind of childhood every child deserves... no stress and fear and burdens keeping them from fully enjoying and loving life. The best line is, "we get to do it over again". That is childhood exactly, as it should be anyway. Life is simple, and every day is new... they just want to do it all over again, there is no boredom in repetition if what is being repeated is at it's heart good.
It's incredible how we undervalue the most important things in life like family, children, being with someone you love and who loves you. Love moves the world. Thank you for reminding me once again.
im one of the 99% who struggle to make ends meet, works too many hours and watches the 1% take year long vacations. That has absolutely no bearing on being happy and appreciating what you have. I am so happy with my family. My wife is amazing, beautiful, supportive and I constantly find happiness in her pleasure. My children are funny, brilliant, talented and they are all a constant source of pride in my life. Everything I do, I do for them because they make me happy and that makes me happy.

I remember when 94.5 the buzz aired this song for the first time. since I'm in houston we seriously heard it first. Justin was in studio and everything. I had to pull over and just cry
me too! driving home with my kids in the car and had to pull over to a CVS to listen to it and it hit me hard. You could feel Justin's happiness resonating through the song.

Now I am... happy with my life in a way I can't explain, I am engaged and everything seems so right its impossible to explain how i escaped those bad times of loss and suffering but here I am.. and here Blue October is... Somehow still being a source of amazing empathy, and joy. Look.. I write... I.. do stuff... Its not my passion for life but its a side thing for me.. I feel you. My father was mostly absent. When he was present he was abusive. I wondered for years what it would have been like to have a loving father. Now I’m at peace with it and think …good thing my mom had enuf love to cover his lack of it. She died unexpectedly two years ago next week and my heart aches for her every minute of every day.

Years ago I was going through one of the most difficult times of my life, I had just lost my kids. Blue October was playing in Omaha Nebraska. I went but the fire marshal said too many people had shown for the concert it was a small venue. Very few stayed after that, I was one of them standing outside in the rain. After the show was over and everyone had disbursed I finally got to go inside. While I was standing at the bar ordering a drink you walked behind the bartender to go out the back carrying a beautiful curly haired little girl she couldn't have been more then 3. A precious moment I never forgot, seeing a superstar being a good dad. I came to hear you play but got so much more. Thank you.
Hate me came on the radio today and it was the first time I heard that song in such a long time and it just hit me so hard that I got home and started listening to all their old songs. I'm really happy for him that he made such a great life for himself, I'm sure that his mom is so proud of him.

This song helped me tremendously in the darkest of times! Unfortunately it had a twist in my story. I played it for my wife before leaving to treatment for addiction letting her know this was the goal in my life. When i got out, however, she decided it was time to move on with her life.
I still listen to this song daily and continue my daily practice to remain clean and sober. The lyrics are a reminder of the things that can be possible living a clean life.

Damn dude! This is awesome! I got out the joint 9 years ago now. 4 kids, good job, loving wife, a good relationship with my mom and dad, real FRIENDS. I've never looked back. Not to say I don't still have some deeply rooted struggles with certain things but my boys and my wife are my favorite things in life. My youngest is 3 and the way he watches me and does everything I do makes me stay on point with my life. Words don't describe that kind of love that I feel but your face in this video says it all! I'm so genuinely happy to see others break away from the darkness that haunted them!

This song inspires me so much. i have not heard of this singing group/band. But when i heard the song HOME and i reviewed the video , I can tell that the lead vocalist has put all of his feelings into the song, and that i can FEEL the emotions that he brings to the audience. I do love this song.
Blue October are mostly known for their big hit "Hate Me" which is a depressing, angry song. Most of their songs deal with thoughts of suicide, angry or depression related themes. However, this album and Sway tend to be more upbeat than their previous. I welcome the change.
That is what I've always loved about this band. I can feel with each song. You can tell the music comes. You can hear the emotions behind them. They are pure and raw in so many ways.

The lyrics display a deep understanding of what childhood is like... for a child, seeing and knowing that your parents love each other (as well as you), you can have peace and comfort and the kind of childhood every child deserves... no stress and fear and burdens keeping them from fully enjoying and loving life. The best line is, "we get to do it over again". That is childhood exactly, as it should be anyway. Life is simple, and every day is new... they just want to do it all over again, there is no boredom in repetition if what is being repeated is at it's heart good.

Way WAY back when (seems like a life time). and it was strange how every time my feelings changed I always went back to Blue October, and I felt like I was on the same ride. Now I am... happy with my life in a way I can't explain, I am engaged and everything seems so right its impossible to explain how i escaped those bad times of loss and suffering but here I am.. and here Blue October is... Somehow still being a source of amazing empathy, and joy. Look.. I write... I.. do stuff... Its not my passion for life but its a side thing for me.. NinjaSkittlez I just found there music. I suffer depression. I have sczoaffective which is bipolar type which is hearing voices plus depression. Ptsd, borderline personality disorder.

Folks... the valley and the peak cannot exist without each other. Blue October sings a lot about the valley, but the peak needs love too. This is part of the journey and deserves to be celebrated. I love it with all my heart.
This music inspires you to see your faults and overcome them and the members of this band feel like family to the fans they have. If you know the hard road this group of musicians took to get here you'd understand. This just isn't a typical band. These guys are hero's to many.
This has been my favorite band since I was young, and this song is just amazing. It is also great to see this song as a happy song instead of the dark, sad, songs they usually sing.
Listening to this song makes me wonder what it would have been like to grow up with a family like you described in this song. My parents were always fighting. The lyrics "Daddy loves momma and momma loves him" hits me really deep and I truly hope my son feels like this song is how his home was when he grows up. Thank you for making beautiful music.
I feel you. My father was mostly absent. When he was present he was abusive. I wondered for years what it would have been like to have a loving father. Now I’m at peace with it and think …good thing my mom had enuf love to cover his lack of it. She died unexpectedly two years ago next week and my heart aches for her every minute of every day.

As someone who grew up in an abusive home, I have always longed for the same thing. Today, my husband and I just work hard to break those cycles and give this song to our children and ourselves.

Years ago I was going through one of the most difficult times of my life, I had just lost my kids. Blue October was playing in Omaha Nebraska. I went but the fire marshal said too many people had shown for the concert it was a small venue. Very few stayed after that, I was one of them standing outside in the rain. After the show was over and everyone had disbursed I finally got to go inside. While I was standing at the bar ordering a drink you walked behind the bartender to go out the back carrying a beautiful curly haired little girl she couldn't have been more then 3. A precious moment I never forgot, seeing a superstar being a good dad. I came to hear you play but got so much more. Thank you.

Hate me came on the radio today and it was the first time I heard that song in such a long time and it just hit me so hard that I got home and started listening to all their old songs. I'm really happy for him that he made such a great life for himself, I'm sure that his mom is so proud of him.
