So in my 6.0 I'm running rotella t6 oil and just ordered Amsoil 15w40 so do I have to do the engine flush or I'm I good to just drain the old rotella and fill it up with the Amsoil.
I always do a engine flush on the first oil change that way it gets all the old carbon deposits off the timing chain also cleans up the oil coking in the turbos and it also cleans the oil cooler ports and a lot of other areas that get a lot of carbon deposit so that's what I personally do if you decide not to I would change the oil filter at about 3,000 miles because the signature series Max Duty diesel oil is going to break down all the old junk and it's going to circulated and end up in the oil filter so that's my experience with over a hundred engine flushes and probably 200 oil changes

Yes, the label is red now it's a little bit brighter and a little easier to read from a distance. I believe the formula is still the same. This was so cool to see the oil come out like regular gasoline oil 20 weight after doing a flush
Synthetic Oil Protection the new label looks nice, I still have a bottle of the engine and transmission flush leftover that I haven’t used yet that still has the old labeling on it.
I bought a used 2004 F250 6.0 truck with 180,000 miiles; my first diesel truck. I changed the engine oil and transmission oil. Cleaned out the transmission oil pan and put in new filter. Engine oil change I applied 15 quarts of Motorcraft SAE 15W-40 with new filter. Transmission oil I applied 8 quarts of Motorcraft Mercon LV Automatic Transmission Oil (so far dip stick shows between cold and hot level). When I'm driving my truck I get a vibration and feels like resistance from the motor when I accelerate. I didn't feel that before the motor and transmission oil change. Anyone know what the problem may be? Any advice is much appreciated! Thank you an advance.
Sure could be a bunch of things could be something got caught in one of the oil passages in the transmission so it may not be shifting right or there could be something impeding the flow of oil somewhere when you did the fluid change. I would consult a technician and have someone that drives your vehicle everyday that's an expert drive it that way they'll tell you immediately what seems to be the problem💯
So when it comes to doing the flush it was pointed out to me some oil stays in the rail and HPOP so not all the flush would be removed. Is this a problem?
Great informative video content! I’ve used Rotella T6 with Archoil oil & fuel additives every 5K miles and fuel filters changes every 10K. Getting on average 14 mpg city & 22 mpg highway. How would Amsoil help me? Benefits? Thanks again for all you do making your videos!
The Amsoil oil filters flow better so you'll have less restriction on your oil pump also you'll get better gas mileage and better cold start protection because 80% of the where is during your cold start. Also the hundred percent synthetic has higher film strength so you'll have less wear in your pistons and cams. Also the Amsoil doesn't burn off like the other full synthetic so you won't have to add oil over the course of your oil change like other oil. Amsoil oil is 100% synthetic so there is no mineral oil in it so it's much more stable than full synthetic that have volatile mineral oil. Also enjoy oil uses proprietary detergent. @@Syntheticoilprotection the problem with non ford/Motorcraft is the bottom seal on the cartridge. The OE seal is a fabric/fiber reinforce is their and way you can send pics of the bottom seal of cartridge for 04 F250 6.0 powerstroke with oe short cap
I looked at the engine bay, said FUCK!!!! Lol I can’t tell u a single part beside the battery and the alternator lol, main reason why I don’t like trucks lol I won’t know how to work on em
Having discovered this video two years after its posting, I would like to request oil analysis updates for this truck. My logic is this: Amsoil is a phenomenal oil that has proven itself repeatedly throughout decades of testing. HOWEVER, the 7.3 and 6.0 Powerstroke engines utilize a hydraulic system to fire the injectors - utilizing the engine oil. The oil pressure in a 6.0 can reach up to 3,000psi. I am curious to know how well Amsoil withstands that kind of abuse. While I’m aware of what the jug says (durability and mileage), was there any testing on the oil done at 3,000psi/was there testing done to simulate high pressure scenarios?
These are some great questions honestly I don't know anything about the PSI You're talking about have truly no idea I do know I've done a bunch of oil analysis always great results these are some good ones to check This playlist th-cam.com/play/PLB_ftWArBFddc-nU9A-k2vfxWYxdq3E_b.html .
@mitchploeg this is why I commented about being uncomfortable with a longer interval. I would also love to see an update. The IPR, and injectors rely on having good clean oil to work properly and just an IPR valve replacement at a shop is going to cost at least $500. Injectors cost thousands. Another concern is that other issues impacting oil like fuel dilution or water in the oil might go undetected longer with longer oil change intervals. I'd rather pay a little more for frequent oil changes. The 6.0 really is a high maintenance babe! If an update is already posted please drop a link!
I don't think I could ever bring myself to use a 15k interval no matter what oil it was. Diesels are just so incredibly dependent on good oil compared to a gasser. Not saying they aren't right... Just makes me feel uncomfortable
@synthetic thanks for the link. I watched a few of the vids. They are compelling. On another note I used to live in Centennial Hills and now live just 2 hours up I-15. Fun to find content creators that live nearby!
I found this channel because I was about to do an oil change on my 6.0 power stroke. I had already purchased motorcraft oil for it but I did call a quick audible and did an engine flush as part of the oil change. Literally just finished washing my hands. This truck has a lot of mods for dependability (bulletproof heads and studs, upgraded turbo, upgraded EGR, new injectors last year). The two places I still worry about having a failure are the oil cooler and hpop. Either one of those would be a large repair bill... Even doing the wrenching myself. Hopefully the flushes will help extend the life of the oil cooler! I will add that as a step every time going forward... And maybe I'll switch to amzoil and a little longer interval. I had a recent little incident with a coolant hose that let the motor reach limp mode temps so I changed the oil after only 2.5k miles this time. Better safe than sorry... $150 on an oil change is better than a catastrophic engine or fuel delivery system failure.

AMSOIL Signature Series 5W-30 Synthetic Motor Oil protects against harmful deposits on turbochargers 4X better than Mobil1® Extended Performance and 3.6X better than Royal Purple® in industry-standard testing*.

Also you'd save a lot of money because you would only do one oil change instead of 3 or oil changes which would save a lot of time.
Thanks for all the questions Joseph!!!

Is the amsoil oil filter compatible with oem for the 6.0 ??
I would double check the lookup guide they may have an update.

Is this better than the rottia i have been using
What type of vehicle do you have
Eben, what size/capacity will one bottle of Engine Flush treat?
I have used it in 11 quarts and it worked great.
If it's over 13 quarts or more I would definitely get two bottles if it's a diesel because the diesel has a ton of soot.
@@Syntheticoilprotection Thanks for the info Eben! I've used Liqui Moly before and needed 2 bottles since my oil capacity was 7 quarts. I looked on Amsoil website and couldn't find the info and going to do a flush/oil change in a few weeks. Thank you again friend!
Anytime Billy thanks for being a part of the channel really appreciate you 😊
@@Syntheticoilprotection Your welcome pal!! I enjoy your videos!
Cheers to protection protection protection......,.
Should put the bulldog tuner in the truck
Fastest way to blow up a 6.0.
I've got a buddy with a 03 Excursion with the 6.0 Power Stroke that I'm trying to convert to Amsoil. I should give you his number so you can help me get him to the Amsoil side.
Thanks Scott I would let him do it when he feels comfortable you could show him this video and he'll see the great result people get - th-cam.com/video/0YNrt962Q7U/w-d-xo.html
All of that amsoil stuff is worth more than that 6.blow your putting in it.
why did he not use the EA filter
That's a great question I think at the time they didn't make the Amsoil filter for this model now perhaps they make it you'll see it on the lookup guide if it's on there.

I don't have one available to take a photo of
I looked at the engine bay, said FUCK!!!! Lol I can’t tell u a single part beside the battery and the alternator lol, main reason why I don’t like trucks lol I won’t know how to work on em
They are just like cars but bigger😁
Just a bit more turbo Plumbing
These are some great questions honestly I don't know anything about the PSI You're talking about have truly no idea I do know I've done a bunch of oil analysis always great results these are some good ones to check This playlist th-cam.com/play/PLB_ftWArBFddc-nU9A-k2vfxWYxdq3E_b.html

I can actually drain the oil first, then pull
the filter, u will get the same results.
I'm not sure what you mean Kevin
Is it good for an Opel Astra G 1.7 Turbo Diesel from 1999 with 166.450kms????
Yes, you should be able to look up the oil specification with the lookup guide here.

I don't think I could ever bring myself to use a 15k interval no matter what oil it was. Diesels are just so incredibly dependent on good oil compared to a gasser. Not saying they aren't right... Just makes me feel uncomfortable
Oh yeah I thought the same exact thing until I started doing the oil analysis tests
