@@ThatBoyAqua That game is geniunely bad. It takes a lot to make me say that even the Iron Man and Cap tie in games were better than the MCU Hulk tie in game.
If you watch Matt Mcmuscles video on the incredible hulk ultimate destruction game he talked to the developer of the game where he talked about how they almost made a sequel to ultimate destruction and almost a spinoff based on the Ultimates team with playable characters including captain america, Iron Man, thor and quicksilver
Well you can dodge by holding the sprint button while moving in any direction, but yeah blocking should've been in the game. It's in the 2008 Hulk game but still.
Well, part of me is a masochist and wants to say that’s the point of having spot-on positioning and really learning the controls, because enemies do friendly-fire damage and you can make shields out of trucks. Not to mention buildings and props act as shields also so part of the fun is dashing behind things and spotting trucks for shields. A bit too complicated, but the options do exist in this version of the game. I do think it’s a borderline masterpiece - definitely my favorite super hero game.
When Aqua was talking about how it's weird that Hulk offers no resistance to those brutal (and poorly telegraphed) grab attacks, it got me thinking. Hulk should be able to reverse grapple as sort of like a parry mechanic. The grab should be decently telegraphed but if you press a button at the right time you grab the enemy instead.

I remember playing this on my silver PS2 slim. I think I was in GameStop with my dad and stumbled upon it in the “pre owned” section. Dad got it for me and I felt like I had discovered a hidden gem. None of my friends knew this game existed but when I showed my older brother, I could tell he thought this game was just as special as I did. I was a kid when I played this game so most of my gameplay consisted of destroying everything in sight, and I had an absolute blast. Some years later I played The Incredible Hulk movie game on 360, and it just wasn’t the same. I kept comparing it to Ultimate Destruction and I just couldn’t believe this old PS2 game was so much better than the new 360 game. I played this game for the first time in forever recently. An arcade bar in toronto has consoles setup and they brought me back to the blockbuster days. Good times
I think the graphics, looking at them now, even add more charm because it looks comparable to the actual comics. Like almost any point you can pause it and it almost looks like it could be a panel.
A thing I used to enjoy about NPC civilians in this game is that, if you picked them up again fast enough, it didn't matter how far they fell. You could literally boot someone off the tallest building and then sprint after them, pick them up and 'save them'.
It's not just the greatest Hulk game, it's one of the greatest games ever made in my opinion and I trully pitty all who were not able to experience it when it came out. Like this game was trully fun as fuck and it holds up so well it brings a tear to my eye. It's trully one of the best highs I'll ever have in my life.

When I was a kid in the 2000's,I would always had to pick Hulk:Ultimate Destruction or Spiderman 2 for the PS2.When I was a kid, those two games was the best open world superhero games, that it was difficult to choose which one I should play today.
I got Ultimate Destruction on PS2 back in 2005 and still play it to this day(in fact I'm playing the Devil Hulk Boss, my favorite Boss btw as I type this, I even bought several copies of this game for PS2 incase one of them broke but thankfully my first copy still works great to this day) I really wish we could get a remaster for PC with improved graphics so people today can really appreciate this gem of an experience. Hulk is the one character that hasn't truly been able to shine outside the comics and this was probably the only big exception, why Marvel insists on making Hulk more goofy and kid friendly alongside the Avengers is baffling since he really works better as a standout character with a tragic story as an intimidating force of nature personifying pure rage and destruction, though he maybe misunderstood and truly he just wants to be left alone. what makes this version of Hulk spot on is that he captures everything that makes his character work soo well, he's powerful, he's intimidating, he's truly tortured inside but ultimately knows right from wrong. Abomination in this game to me is the definitive version hands down, Ron Perlman did a fantastic job portraying the character of Emil Blonsky (I honestly wish they casted him in the MCU but that's just me) He truly embodies the desperation that Blonsky in the comics had back during the Peter David Era of Hulk's run and I think they really captured his look soo well( side note but what is it with Marvel constantly trying to erase Abomination's classic look? I think Marvel really should try to make a definitive Hulk game nowadays, I mean his relevancy has been declining for year's and has only kept up due to his comics still being well received and partially the MCU's popularity though even that seems to be declining now more than ever, I feel that if Hulk continues to be more and more obscure as time goes on with the lack of any media outside the comics then eventually he'll simply just be remembered as a goofball that once had edge but now is a bit of a clown. I sincerely hope that never happens but it's becoming more and more likely which is why in my opinion we really need to go back to stuff like this that captures the true essence of the character, even the other 2 Hulk games at least took him seriously and even gave us some pretty definitive villains mostly in the 2003 game with The Leader, Half Life, Ravage, Mad Man, Flux and General Riker. The 2008 Game at least gave us The U-Foes, Bi Beast, and Glen Talbot along with Rick Jones making his only game appearance (if you don't count Lego Marvel or any Mobile games that is) But again I truly feel we've only scratched the surface for Hulk when it comes to his potential and besides the fact that Hulk is only second to Spider-Man when it comes to popularity and Iconic cultural significance, it truly feels as though the world keeps forgetting how great his characters and stories truly are and media outside the comics have only barely tried for the most part to capture it and seems to prefer to force him on a team to "Balance him out" and well I disagree with the notion that Hulk only works well when he's in the Avengers or the Agents of S.M.A.S.H.(which I really hated btw, it was just an excuse for Marvel not to make a Fantastic 4 show while making Hulk more of a goofball character alongside his "family of Hulk's") But nonetheless I enjoyed your review of this incredible game and hope the other 2 games don't leave too bad a taste but hey at you'll have a pallet cleanser with this one if you do
I miss this game. I felt like the gamma irradiated beast that is lurking inside Banner and never felt that since. I remember looking at the back of the case and it said: "The World is your Weapon". And it truly was our weapon back in the day.
Just copped a copy on PS2 for my backwards compatible PS3 I found in storage. Had so much fun revisiting it, funny that you dropped this around the same time!
My absolute favorite move in this game was picking up a street light and throwing it at a mech, and it would actually impale him and stick him to a building. I can still remember that a decade and a half later despite not playing it
Damn. I remember when I got this game, it was genuinely one of the best games I played as a child. I loved the first Hulk but this was on another level at the time. Can’t believe it’s been 18 years!?
Gods i loved this game. So satisfying using the critical mass special moves like thunderclap to clear out huge areas. Being able to weaponise so much of the environment was so much fun.
As someone who was born in 99 and was 3 years old playing halo on blood gulch with my cousin, I related to the "they dont make them like they used to" line too much and its exhausting
I remember playing this game and having so much damned fun. I even initiated a dogfight in the skies, using every aerial move that the Hulk had to keep myself in the air while fighting the Hulkbusters. And then I'd grab the last unlucky guy, take him as high as i could, then just beat his ass while we fell towards the ground. God, so much fun.
This game definitely needs a sequel. Where instead of it being just Hulk, the MARVEL Bruisers team up with him. Where players can rebuild and repair the city as Heroes such as Hulk, She-Hulk, Hulk Buster (Tony Stark), Thing, Colossus, Bishop, Hercules, Thor, Sandman, and Venom. Or destruct and demolish the city as Villains such as Red Hulk, Abomination, Absorbing Man, Anti-Venom, Blob, Juggernaut, Rhino, Lizard, Tombstone, Ultimate Green Goblin, and Zzzax. And it has Heroes vs. Villains multiplayer campaign battles.
Hey now. I remember having a fair deal of fun with that Hulk game that came after Ultimate Destruction. It was no Ultimate Destruction by any stretch but if I'm remembering correctly it was fine enough to not be deserving of as much smoke as it gets.
This was 1 game as a child that I could never stop playing. Every other game was irrelevant to me. This game will always be top 5 in my gaming hall of fame list. But you forgot to mention the red hulk and Joe fix it. Joe fix it gave the hulk so pretty interesting and annoying dialogue lmao! Great video brother!
This game is amazing so much love was put into this game I had it on PS2 when you pressed the select button he did 3-4 different roars which scarred innocent people in both maps this game is every hulk fans dream.
I enjoy playing this game even today. The movement and strenght of hulk are the highlights of the game, and keep it from becoming to competitive. I wish they made a follow up game that was better, with a better world and even more destruction.
I lost weeks to this game as a kid, it was the only game I played where you could destroy sky scrapers, not to mention skateboard a bus AND glide on a flory gorilla I wish they’d re-release this alongside Ultimate Spider-Man
i feel sad for this studios because they made good games and radical did made another cult classic that is PROTOTYPE but that also didn't save them RIP RADICAL
I remember shouting in cinema when Nortons Hulk did car fists in a movie! It’s was just glorious thing to watch’ The moves were just crazy there! Even the flying elbow have so much WWE vibe
I am a huge fan of this game. I also remember a trailer for this appearing on Australian television. What I found notable was that they quoted Hyper Magazine, a popular gaming publication. Yet they only used two words from the review, "Absolute Classic". Actually, if you read their review, what they said was, "There are some things that prevent this game from becoming an absolute classic." They just took two words from a negative line, and turned it into a positive. That's the advertisers for you!
I remember this being the last game I ever got to buy at our local Sam Goody before they closed in our mall, probably the best Hero Game at the time next to Spider-Man 2. I remember just spending hours rampaging to summon the Hulkbusters out to fight but I never did finish the game because the mission where you disguise as a truck was always too tough for me when you get to the part you start fighting them on the way out.
I haven't played Hulk Ultimate Destruction in live over decade i gotta give it a replay and see if it holds up also hell yeah it would be awesome if you did video on the Hulk 2003 game 🤘🔥
For as great as this game is it is a tragedy we never got another Ultimate Destruction. Great video as always

Have fun, buy those upgrades especially the shockwave smash
This game and the 03 needs a remaster.
I need an 18 rated hulk game with violence and gore like the wolverine game
Sounds more like a Red Hulk or Abomination game.
The 2003 Hulk game on ps2 was the one I played as a kid, so it'd be fun to see that one for me
I was in grad school when this came out, but playing it on a home theater and 110 inch screen was a ton of fun for me and my buddies.
I loved this game I played this game on GameCube I miss this game still wish I had my GameCube
*Insomniac* needs to buy the rights and make a sequel 😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎😎
I miss this game. I felt like the gamma irradiated beast that is lurking inside Banner and never felt that since. I remember looking at the back of the case and it said: "The World is your Weapon". And it truly was our weapon back in the day.
Would love to see a deep dive on the hulk game from 2008. Especially since we really don't get games with hulk or any other super hero these days
I’m really shocked that this game never got the remake treatment
Literally 5 minutes 27 seconds into stumbling across this video and this is a favourite channel of mine.
I miss this game so much; along with Marvel nemesis : rise of the imperfects
Xmen wolverine orgins next?
I would love a video about the previous Hulk game with the Banner missions. I personally remember having fun with it. Great work btw!
Omg this was THE GAME of my childhood. I loved this game so much.
Just copped a copy on PS2 for my backwards compatible PS3 I found in storage. Had so much fun revisiting it, funny that you dropped this around the same time!
Ah yes. The prototype of Prototype
core memories unlocked with this one, especially you carrying the blue gorilla! used to do that too for fun :)
I will never forget unlocking Joe Fixit and hearing his one liners omg this game and ultimate spiderman were the best games ever made!
As someone who was born in 99 and was 3 years old playing halo on blood gulch with my cousin, I related to the "they dont make them like they used to" line too much and its exhausting
WHY HAS THIS NOT BEEN REMASTERED!!!???
I remember playing this game and having so much damned fun.
I even initiated a dogfight in the skies, using every aerial move that the Hulk had to keep myself in the air while fighting the Hulkbusters. And then I'd grab the last unlucky guy, take him as high as i could, then just beat his ass while we fell towards the ground. God, so much fun.
Dude! I love this game. My absolute favorite part was going to the canyons and punting the cows lol.
I always played as Joe Fixit, he would constantly shout snarky things during gameplay, and a few cutscenes. I loved Joe.
This looks like Prototype but for younger fans lol
This was 1 game as a child that I could never stop playing. Every other game was irrelevant to me. This game will always be top 5 in my gaming hall of fame list. But you forgot to mention the red hulk and Joe fix it. Joe fix it gave the hulk so pretty interesting and annoying dialogue lmao! Great video brother!
This game is amazing so much love was put into this game I had it on PS2 when you pressed the select button he did 3-4 different roars which scarred innocent people in both maps this game is every hulk fans dream.
2:05 has me geekin but this game was amazing wish you didn’t have to buy an old console to play it
I enjoy playing this game even today. The movement and strenght of hulk are the highlights of the game, and keep it from becoming to competitive. I wish they made a follow up game that was better, with a better world and even more destruction.
Such good memories of this game, when The Hulk was still a badass, unstoppable beast... Before those pieces of shit at Disney turned him into a joke.
In the chapter title “garden of good and evil,” it is explained that Blonsky is being influenced by his own Devil Hulk, hence his growth
I lost weeks to this game as a kid, it was the only game I played where you could destroy sky scrapers, not to mention skateboard a bus AND glide on a flory gorilla
I wish they’d re-release this alongside Ultimate Spider-Man
i feel sad for this studios because they made good games and radical did made another cult classic that is PROTOTYPE but that also didn't save them RIP RADICAL
Had the game pass for block buster back in the day this game always brings back great memories. This movie was amazing and so much fun.
this is one of those that will always stay in the collection because there will never be another as awesome :D
Oh my god i loved this game when i was a kid. The ability to just destroy everything blew my mind.
I remember shouting in cinema when Nortons Hulk did car fists in a movie! It’s was just glorious thing to watch’
The moves were just crazy there!
This games goated, the skeleton of the prototype games🤝
18 years my ass I remember playing this as a kid 😭
