I came across of a pair of Stow boots that has been sitting on the shelf for over two years. The leather is as dry as charcoal, and gives me tears in my eyes as I condition, nourish, and cream the leather back to life.
I stumbled upon a pair of espresso brown Trickers Stow in scotch grain sitting alone on a shelf in a local store that had a close down sale a couple of years back. I wasn’t looking for a pair of boots but the rich brown grainy leather and the brogue detailing with the purple heel tab and bright orange sole really stood out to me. The craft and quality couldn’t be ignored so as soon as I noticed they were in my size I really didn’t have to think twice about a purchase. I’ve been loving them since and I plan to enjoy them for many many years to come.
Have a black pair, must be 25 years old now, still in very good condition, I didn't know you could get them in different sole configurations at the time, or is this a later edition. Mine are all leather though I had the heel plates changed, cant remember if they came with metal protectors in the heal from new, but they were just noisy when walking around, hard wearing on my heals as well. They get conditioned now and again, but not worn them for quite a while, they need stretching somewhat which I'm on with, the leather around the heels is still very stiff even after all this time. They are great looking boots just need to get them to fit me better.

Probably Tricker's size 8 F (F=Tricker's width fit 5). The 4497s last used to make Stow boots is actually a country shoe last, intended for thin socks. No extra room is added in the Stow boots for wearing thick socks. So most people can't size down half-a-size, unless they have unusually narrow feet.
A legendary boot unlike any other. The Stow is really a cult classic. Love mine to bits ❤️
