- Replacing the rear valance panel on our rabbit pickup is the final piece of the puzzle to complete the restoration welding on the rear end of our MK1 caddy. In today's video we're making our own panel from 2.5mm steel with the help of our Swift Cut CNC plasma table and Promecam 50 tonne press brake.

Hey! We're Mat & Len, a guy and a girl from North Yorkshire in the United Kingdom. We love making stuff out of metal and building cars together.
What kind of cars do we build? We mainly work on modern classic cars (anything 80s- early 90s) and right now we're restoring and modifying a VW MK1 caddy pickup #thatslammedcaddy
We're down for anything metalworking related and always love to hear your suggestions for what DIY project we should take on next in the comments!
Thanks for stopping by, if you want to see more welding, grinding, hammering, plasma cutting, press braking as well as all the ups and downs of our fabrication projects make sure you subscribe by hitting that red button!

Cheers!👍
Its funny how i made the exact same thing this weekend on my caddy !!! Yours look a little better i have to say. Good job !
What a coincidence! Cheers 🙂👍
Arrrrr the old set hammer hahaha
Loving the work you are doing on this guys, keep it up! One observation though - is the wording in the rear panel going to be hidden by the new bumper?
Cheers for the comment! Yes it will be, Mat was very specific on the measurements so that the writing would fit nicely behind the bumper without being visible. It was a little bit unnecessary, but we couldn't resist putting something in that blank space and now it should look good even without the bumper 😀
@@RotboxMetalworks cool! You know someone is taking attention to detail seriously when they hide things like that in areas that will never be seen! 😎
👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thanks dude!
Where can I buy that air saw you're using ?
They sell them in loads of places, ours was like £25 on eBay, just search for "air reciprocating saw" and you should find one 👍
This car is not rare by us in sa
where is your grinder safety shield, you are now about the 20th youtube channel with it missing showing the world how to lose a finger or an eye to sparks, please put it back (I have restored cars for 35 years it does not get in the way)
