    • @chatcs137

      @@thilagaraj39 In digital marketing you're responsible for setting up the campaign (+ optimize the trafficking and take reports) on various platforms like facebook, instagram, tiktok, twitter, linkedin, google search, dv360 for youtube, display etc. In marketing analytics you'll spend your time using Ms. Excel, tableau, G.A and sometimes SQL to analyze the data and to test the probability with hypothesis testing in advanced level (that's why it's mentioned that 8% need ML skills like Python, R, etc.). So in a nutshell: no. But it's good for your career if you understand how both roles work.

    What type of degree is often required? Is it necessary a economics' or a data science's one or it is enough to have a degree on Communication with the knowledge of some tools like Excel, SQL and Tableau for a junior position? (I'm trying the follow the Google Data Analytics' certificate path). Thank you

    • @leocastillo7518
      @leocastillo7518 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Marketing should be fine, you can always learn more adv Excel, SQL and Tableau/Power BI online like YT or other websites: Codecademy, freecodecamp, DataCamp. If you want more technical skills then Business Analytics or Management Information Systems ( MIS will be more technical than the other 3, but provides broader professions if you choose to change in the future).

    Would it be a strong point if a marketing analyst changes path to a business analyst?

    • @MechaJutaro
      @MechaJutaro 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      There's a great deal overlap between the two fields, increasingly. Both have to use data to tell a story in plain language, typically to audiences who's knowledge of tech doesn't extend far beyond playing around with their iPhones and surfing the web. It's not so different from the way in which the profession of political strategist has been gradually consolidated into the larger field of political consulting. Going forward. it won't be enough to simply be a marketing analyst, i.e. someone who works almost exclusively with the marketing department, especially if one's goal is to move up the pay scale and into leadership roles

      I got a job as a digital marketing analyst. I dont have any previous education on marketing. I got the internship from a psychology/ science background, as I understood statistics and how to perform hypothesis testing. Only after a few months I landed as a full time digital optimisation analyst role, where I perform a lot of A/B testing utilising data from web analytics (using Google Analytics or Adobe Analytics). And I use my psychology/ behavioural science background to come up with ideas generation for effective A/B tests. Also knowing coding such as HTML, CSS and JavaScript is beneficial yet optional since you work a lot on websites.
