Clarifications: Belchertown is the correct spelling. At the Shea Ave crossing looking south towards Bondsville you can actually still see a sliver of rail sticking out of the ground to the right. The B&M ceased all operations from Canal Jct. on the CV to Bondsville in August 1979, so it never made it into the 1980s. The site of the Belchertown station can be a little confusing as the original bridge over the tracks which shows up in many past photos with the station was actually torn down and the main road currently State St. was realigned several feet to the south, making the approximate location of the station site on the north side of the present day Rt 202 State St. bridge. The old bridge alignment can still be seen which would have connected present day Maple and Bridge Streets. So basically the station wasn't moved, the road was. The station just happened to shift from the south side of the bridge, to the north side. As far as the water tower goes, it stood quite a distance south of the station. I attempted to look for a foundation after a quick walk down the old ROW, but found nothing.
