    I love cantonese braised duck! We have a restaurant here in Dublin who served the same and we always love to go there just to have it! I never saw its preparation though. It's really nice to watch you preparing and cooking it. :)

    This was a great recipe to try. The duck and sauce tasted just like I would get in HK or Shenzhen. The problem I had was that to cover the duck with water (and I didn't completely) there was so much water that even after 45 minutes of boiling down, I still would have had to go another 15-20 minutes to get a thicker sauce like you did. I'll try less water next time, but you need to allow more than 10 minutes at the end to boil the sauce down I think. Thanks for the recipe.

      Thanks Robin S. Glad to know you tried out the recipe and it was to your liking. Covering the entire duck with water is a challenge even sometimes I face. Having the water height pass 70% will be sufficient, just need to flip the duck more often for better results. Boiling down the sauce at the end for another 15 to 20 mins is best for achieving the thicker sauce. I make this duck quiet often all because of that sauce, haha. If you like duck recipes, feel free to check out our other recipes on this tasty bird. Take care! 👍😀

    Would love to try this duck recipe but not too crazy about deep frying the duck with that marinade on it. Still, father's day is coming up and I think my dad would love this. Also, I think I might do it in the slow cooker. Thanks for your video.

    • @AmazingKitchen

      Sounds great! You can skip the deep frying part if your not to fond of doing it. It will taste just as great. The frying just add that tad bit more to the experience but you can perfectly do it in a pot and slow cook it. Let me know how it turns out🙂 Thanks Buddha Tbay👍

      @@AmazingKitchen Yes, I think so. I'm likely going to do the oil thing outside and I have a little induction cooktop. Won't get oil all over place . LOL! Thanks again!

      @AmazingKitchen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      A small tip, ensure the skin of the duck is dry so to minimize the sizzling when doing the oil part. Have fun😀

    do not blanch the duck like that with oil, its stupidly dangerous. if you must, get a wok then try to have space for the boil over

    • @AmazingKitchen
      @AmazingKitchen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The amount of oil use for blanching had been measured to account for the boil over already. But I do agree it is not recommended for beginners who has never done such a dish before. Thanks Bcat BB🙂👍
