    This seemed a lot more like a general Model Y review instead of the titled 20,000 mile update. Would have liked to hear a lot more about the 20,000 experience instead of generic features that everyone else talks about.

    Model Y Performance buyers need to be aware that the front and rear tires are different sizes. A new set of replacements tires will run around $2500. Not cheap but it’s the price you pay for a 3.5 second 0 to 60 high performance vehicle.

      Yup you gotta pay to play. It would be the same story for any other gas performance car plus you’d have to fill up with high octane fuel.

      Where are you getting 4 replacement tires for $2500? I’ve purchased a recent set of Michelin AS4s from Costco and they’re 1600.

      Haha, true. I went from driving a 2007 Prius until it pretty much died and said, well, I'm going to buy something ridiculous and just own it because I'm 40 and can finally afford it. Miles of smiles so far!

    Damn bro. Fellow San Diegan here and I remember watching your videos about two years ago when you first got that Y. I’ve always wanted one for years… wayyyy back when it first dropped in 2020. Which was almost impossible to get and $60k… fast forward to 2024c I’m happy to say that I now purchase one two weeks ago. A MYLR in the new stealth grey. So far I love it and it feels like a new drive every time. Hoping to see more content and updates bro! Maybe I’ll see you on the road.

    My 2021 y performance back tires lasted 22,000 miles and cost 500/tire 😮. At 39,000 miles the back tires needed replacement but I decided to replace my wheels and tires with 19 inch Gemini wheels and continental tires . Much cheaper to replace and rotatable. The Uber turbine wheels are prettier but not practical for my wallet 😮. Great review,subscribed.

    I know the model Y’s have upgraded their suspension. What’s your opinion on the ride suspension with the performance model vs the LR model? Is it really a lot more bumper? Hands down the white is the best !! ⚡️Hour & half to charge a Kia 😮 I would have convinced her to trade that in asap !! 😜

    I placed my order 2 days ago and pick my 2023 MYP exact same spec as yours. Im pissed though because I put your code in on everything I was trying to order it with and somehow it didn't connect to the device I used to purchase it. Sadly now I lose out on 250 bucks and 3 months of FSD :( also you don't get the 10k points. It really sucks and I asked the Tesla advisor if I could add it on now and she said its only possible through the order link..

    It's so funny that someone would buy an EV and not even think about home charging. Get rid of those 21" UberTurbine heavy wheels and get 18" wheels for better range and curb rash protection. Liking Autopilot does does not mean you will like FSD, they are two different animals.

    • @TeslaoftheDay
      @TeslaoftheDay  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Most don’t really do the research to better understand how it all works. Plus the dealer most likely want to explain it, they just want to make a sale.

    • @diegoe4764
      @diegoe4764 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      21's are too nice to get rid of even considering the small range loss especially if you have a home charger.

    • @Resist4
      @Resist4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@diegoe4764 I wouldn't call 27 miles a small range loss. But as I said besides the weight of the 21's, they curb easily and any pothole will damage the tire and rim. Beefier side walls are safer and look better.

    • @bigbawsz2054
      @bigbawsz2054 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I think he got the performance because the 18”s look terrible. I have the performance, never curbed the rims once 6 months now. Pay attention of surroundings and it’ll all be good.

    • @Resist4
      @Resist4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bigbawsz2054 I just put 18" on my Model Y Performance and they look great. When I had my 2018 Model 3 I never curbed wheels for 2 years, then one wheel got curbed, then another and finally a third wheel. It had the Aerowheel covers on but they don't protect the rim of the wheels. I ended up putting Rimetrix wheel covers on, which hid the damage and even protected a wheel once more. But in over 50 years of driving I have never once curbed a wheel in other vehicles I have owned. Tesla uses rims that stick out as far as the tires, so the tires can't protect them. And I certainly didn't want to chance any damage to my 21" UberTurbines. The new 18" TSportLine wheel set I bought look really good on my Model Y and it's easier to see the red calipers now. Plus, I like the beefier look to tires with more sidewall, and never liked the low profile rubber band tires, they damage too easily. But because the new wheels are so light I think I can get better than the Model Y Long Range's mileage of 330. I can probably get 350 miles of range, at least it's on track to get that if I don't have much uphill driving to do.
