After World War II, one by one, the white man's colonies in the Global South freed themselves as colonial subjects, and regained their dignity. Where they could do so with non-violent civil disobedience, that was what they did, such as in India, Malaysia and Singapore. Where non-violent disobedience was not possible, they had to resort to armed resistance, such as in Vietnam and Indonesia.
Fighting for freedom is the great legacy inherited by the Global South. So the people there know immediately that the Palestinians are on the right side of history, unlike you in Josep Borell's perfumed garden. The US killed 2 million Vietnamese in the Vietnam War. Tell the Global South the Vietnamese are stupid. You'd be thrown out of the room.

Additionally, A_C news published a video on this forum two weeks ago entitled "Israeli Hostage Center releases video showing 5 girls taken hostage on Oct. 7." The women in the video are IDF soldiers. This phenomenon has been commented on by Arwa Mahdawi in an article entitled "The adultification of children has consequences from Palestine to the US." Funny that none of the "hostages " is allowed to talk to media. However, "select" family members and the "same exact doctor who talked on behalf previous hostages" claims to the media they were "abused" - despite they all look way healthier than anyone else in Gaza!

As a white American who fell in love with a Canadian who had been in Israel, I LOVED Shireen Abu Akleh and this is UNBEARABLE! 🇵🇸❤️✌🏽😭
Just imagine being one of those hostages, knowing two or three score people had to die for your rescue.
I pray they had such empathy.
Thirteen score people dead. 22 score people maimed.
We can see how healthy they look... if we can go by many of the released hostages, they were treated well and humanely, and probably, after 8 months, see Palestinians as real people, and would be horrified once the elation of being back home wears off.
Remember the hostages released by prisoner exchange who hugged or shook the hands of their captors, and that was only after a short time.
As always thanks for the great information! I appreciate you and your guest immensely but I have to push back against his claim that anti-Palestinian hatred is found across the board in political circles including progressive.
Many people who have called themselves progressive and who hold progressive positions on many issues, have been revealed to be deeply bigoted against Arabs and Palestinians in particular.
I don't disagree that those people exist. I disagree with accepting their self-definition when they call themselves progressives yet they can't be because a core value of progressivism is anti-racism.
Being progressive isn't something you can claim if there is any group of people that you are bigoted against; all of those people either deeply misunderstand what a progressive is, or they're just lying. Either way they are not progressives.

One thing that will add to Israel’s strategic losses will be the diminishing interest of the US and other powers in the Middle East. The time we live will start to need less oil but more other resources (rare earths from Africa etc). Israel’s gamble might prove to be extremely futile.

There are so many important points to highlight from this interview. I think the most important one is the labour that we all have to engage in to re-humanise Palestinians, their struggle and their suffering. Even for those of us who support their cause,is is really hard to avoid becoming desensitised to the images and romanticising their resistance as if they were made differently from all of us. Just because they have been subjected to atrocity after atrocity for decades does not mean they can or should handle it better than any of us would. to think that is just utter disregard for their humanity. An another point is what your guest rightly said, it doesn't matter whether you condemn Oct 7th or not because nothing justified the last 8 months of unrelenting onslaught. Free Palestine!
This is one if the most important videos I’ve seen in years and at the same time one of the most discouraging, based on the reality.
The fact that this has to be said. It's like he is out here having to convince people that up is up and down is down or that the earth is, in fact, round.
I grew up in the 60s and 70s. Even then, the word Palestinian was synonymous with terrorist.
I now wonder how Iraq was all those years ago when I was a teenager. What did we miss, what did we not see, what atrocities was committed by the us that todays mobile phone would have recorded.

Her whole extended family, 52 in number were slaughtered in Gaza, except for two children 3yr and 5yr old WCNSP (Wounded Child No Surviving Parent).
