It's way harder to move a whole laser diode assembly than to move a very lightweight polycarbonate mirror with a tiny magnet chip on it.
It would still be easier to move the foundation the laser is mounted to.
Moving a mirror is still harder than moving electrons in a vacuum, right?
@@1994AustinSmiththat's going into the realm of CRT. This is a laser display it's photons moving not electrons but yes it would be easier to bend the path of the electrons
"yes it really works!!!" - proceeds to flash a fake ass looking .png on top of their bit of paper
keep watching he says it doesn't he was making a joke out of how dumb it was
your series on making circuits found on the internet is very interesting. please keep it continue.
Why not point the laser at a tiny mirror and move the mirror? That's way easier right...
Yup, that's how it's done on stage lasers
Thats how actual laser projectors work. Instead of moving the diode they have a small mirror with a magnet on it that gets turned by running varied current through a coil.
Confocal laser scanning microscopes also do the same thing to precisely move the laser beam in a grid pattern. When they were first invented the original idea was to move the entire microscope stage along the X-Y axis until precision electronics got good enough to move the laser beam.
also that's how DLP projectors work, except there's more mirrors and they are really tiny. (and a lot of commercial DLP use LEDs as the light source instead of a laser.)
This is how a old crt worked, think of the laser diode as the electron gun and think of the electrons as the laser, and think of the paper as the phosphorescent paint
This reminds me of the ion emmiters in the back of a CRT.
_And the precision you need may be able to take some inspiration from such._
There's no ion emitter there. It's an electron cannon. Ions are charged atoms, not just electrons.
@@wernerviehhauser94 My bad.
Got mixed up with an old project.
But the statement, mostly to reference the magnetic aiming.
Could possibly use the same scanlines and timing with the laser, from an old CRT or a mockup of the circuits.
Using magnets to steer electrons is very different to a massive physical object.
ion emmiters & electron cannon sound like Star Trek terms to me
Hahahahah!!!
I was just about to post /comment this but I could not remember the terms like "guns" & "convergence rings on a crt"
I'm following you for 4 years
I hope you read my comment
I became good at circuit designs by watching your videos
my friends in the college are surprised and keep asking me "did you study a specific course?" and I answer them .. "watch Great Scott and try many times"
I'm really proud of you ♥️🥰
keep going.. we love you
if anyone got fooled by that flashing png, im gonna lose it
Why is it sped up? Sounds kinda funny:)
To include max information
@@TLOUG makes sense
Try to tell all this information in less than 60 seconds
@@ooooooooooooooooooooooooooooow watch the full video:)
it's sounds horrible, unwatchable
there was a perfectly valid project like this more than 10 years ago with a shoe box and spinning mirrors, and one mirror resting on a speaker. You're just overthinking it.
I hate fake science and technology projects
and the best(worst) of them are people making planes without any knowledge , makes you waste hundreds of rupees and at the end show a fake video
@@RG_aming The worst are slap some solar panels on something or hiding your code.
use 2 or 4 speakers with the laser mounted on a small wooden X axis connected to the center of the speakers with wooden dowels and then try to use the sound waves to control the output image.
Hah, I didn't notice your vid was sped up until I read the comments. I usually watch your vids at 1.25 or 1.5x so it just sounded normal for me 😂
SAME! but I use "Video Speed Controller" - even allows controlling yt shorts positions (ie. FFW/RWD by a custom amount of time intervals)
The old TV tunes works like dis
.. & CRT monitors.
That's what I mean @@user-rw3fm9ix3i
Lol of course this doesn't work.. I once saw something similar that worked really well though. But it used small mirrors on two stepper motors I believe.. By attaching the mirrors at a slight angle and rotating the 2 mirrors at different frequencies you could make quite interesting shapes..
misinformation on the internet is like music in my ears
Kind of fancy CRT 😂.
Stick a mirror fragment on a stretched balloon and you can get pretty close to the fake "projector"
You should be careful using those lasers as they don’t have good quality control so they can be overrated and dangerous,
It sounds like that you have sped up your videos which I appreciate thank you
You want to try a diy galvanometer next, using speaker coils to move the mirrors.
What kind of power supply is that
Wondering if phased array would work in such a case? 🤔
Let's be real......the first video wasn't making mistakes, it was intentional deception for views likely just content farm BS
Use the coils from a VCR capstan motor, flat coil air core type. Glue 4 tiny neodymium magnets to the laser diode. All 4 with the same pole facing outward or alternate NSNS. Make the laser diode support spring a fairly stiff one with some vibration damping on it. Next run it with quad op amp with 4 half bridge drivers. It wont do fast animations but if you want simple eyecandy stuff its fine.❤
why not push pull with strings and motors? would be more efficient and easier....
The speedup sounds weird
Robotics Kanti be like - re yeah to dhoti khol raha hai 😂
What about CRT works ? Cathode ray tube. This has similarity ?
Bro just make diod inside more magnetic metal
This is on TH-cam shorts.
What is the subject matter?
What are you talking about? What project?
Thanks Again TH-cam.
There are so many fake electronic projects on here, keep doing this. I can't be bothered...
You should stick some neodymium magnets on diode
It's should be real
it's called crt monitor, but crt monitor doesn't use laser, crt monitor is shooting electron from electricity
You can easily see the laserprojection is fake
Thank you it's important what you did say the true, bless you
Seeing how bad even the pilot laser of the trumpf systems at work are that’s nothing that shocks me😂 even though it works (it costs lots of money so dough) but it only scans with 5m/s so drawing contours looks a bit shitty sometimes
your replica is not right your electromagnet is too far at the tip. and your steel is too heavy
I am amazed at how stupid some of those diy projects get. I really don't get where those 'creators' benefit from such trash content.
Hahahaha I ❤ Great Scott
Don’t tune shit xdd. Use open cv compensate for it with a webcam as feedback. U will never get a perfect 1:1 relation in the voltage movement so why bother.
How you gonna get a webcam to spit out frames even close to the speed of eyesight? And then run OpenCV and then compensate with that feedback...
@@dylpickle8147 u can use still low speed opencv for feedback in how depending on the coil it converts to x y values. Then crank the speed up. If u were to make a x pattern while cranking up the speed u could see the change on the x and y with speed as one frame gets captures which due to the shutter speed will probably capture the entire movement in one go. I guess u could implement a pid loop and tune with it with a pre movement calibration. I am just giving ideas on how to do it :s.
Speeding up a video just to fit it in the 1 min limit is not s good solution, try to cut it shorter and sum up some stuff
It isn't fake! I've tried it myself and it works.
My opinion:
In this video is to much information and video content.
Speeding up the voice does not help, it sounds a bit like a voice from a robot.
I have also seen some awesome one's from you.
I'm not a big fan of TH-cam Shorts.
The limited time is on reason of it. (Isn't this the reason for this kind of content 🙈😅)
I'm a longtime viewer. I saw your video about TH-cam Shorts too.
I hope you do not miss understand my comment.
It's for me a feedback.
Your regular videos are really awesome, i enjoy everything single second of them.
Best Regards

You and your projects are awesome!
Don't speed your videos up. It makes it incomprehensible.
"Video Speed Controller" - even allows controlling yt shorts positions (ie. FFW/RWD by a custom amount of time intervals)
@@user-rw3fm9ix3i orrrr don't inconvenience your audience and make them work else they won't watch anymore of the videos
