Really good video, excellent graphics. I have pulled a number of these projectors apart but didnt realise some of the details you explain. Im amazed at the MEMS mirrors and equally the alignment of all the parts in these projectors and yet they are thrown away with no appreciation of the incredible technologies in these devices.
There is no mention of rainbow effect (RBE) artifact, which all single-DLP projectors produce. Some people never see them; some people see them but are not bothered; some people instantly get sick when they see RBE. RBE is very real, and along with any discussion of wretched single-DLP projectors, should always be touched on.
@@c1a9h9r9 RBE is caused by ANY sequential color system. Even if it's 3LED, there is still a single DLP. Most people fortunately don't see it; some see it and learn to unsee it; some always see it. Some very expensive projectors always have it. th-cam.com/video/yj0QveffCEM/w-d-xo.html

Yeah. I have some medium and cheap DLPs. A few months of 6-8 hours of every days of using the best of these one and got a painful eyestrain and pain. But sharpness of that DLP is excellent.
I enjoyed this video. I was a bit shocked that you said your projector is LCD as it most definitely is not. You have a DLP Pico projector. No DLP controllers would ever be in a LCD projector. But, your video was great with animations and really spot on in many regards. There are also single chip LCD projectors, which are pretty much garbage. Finally, LCoS projectors own the high end of the consumer market space as used by JVC, Sony, and even one from Epson. The ultra high end, as theaters use, is the three chip DLP. I’ve moderated Projector Central’s forums for years, feel free to reach out if you want any follow on work or ideas. Keep up the great work.

@@Sardeiuzz89 - It is best to look at FixItFrank's channel on TH-cam as I am not a repair person, but the most likely cause for a shift to magenta is a failing or completely failed green LED or processing that handles green in the projector. A lack of green = more magenta.
Your animations are excellent. Great video! You should have mentioned the problem that appears with single DLP systems and color wheel or sequential led, which is the "rainbow" effect that bothers many people. While three LCD, LCos systems have the problem of RGB channel alignment. And you could already comment that in systems with DLP the micro-mirrors are not only updated sequentially for each color, they are also modulated in pwm to adjust the saturation of each color.
I am also an electronics engineering student and content creater here at youtube and look upto you and other great youtubers for inspiration thank you.
But there is also chep projectors in the market that uses single coloured lcd to project image so why this projector has 3 Lcds for each colour instead of using single Coloured lcd?

That last one reminds me of CRT tvs, a light beam drawing lines across the screen, or in this case a laser on a wall. If they could ever improve the tech to make full screen images at 60 or even 120hz it could potentially provide the best looking picture ever. Actual bright vivid lasers making up the picture would look phenomenal.
CRT used to HAVE 120 hz monitors before LCD took off. Even 240 hz and higher LCD and LED monitors today often compare poorly to 60 hz CRT in terms of reproduction quality and overall brightness despite the advances in detail density and fineness.
Great video! 3 LCD and RGB Laser are the way to go these days! Good to know how they both work. Keep it up! Got a "Like" from me! Maybe do one of these on Ultra Short Throw projectors? Not sure how much more or less different they would be than a regular projector, but I am curious to know more about them.
Thanks, bro for the video. I have an Android DLP projector giving a message "NO SIGNAL". I opened up the product and confused about what could be wrong?
Would love to know where to source some of these "cheap" 4k LCDs. I can't even find any monochrome LCD with 1080p or higher that isn't at least 5" diagonal and lacking a UV filter, much less one specifically for projection purposes. Do you (or any viewers) have any recommendations? Thanks!
It is unlikely that the speaker module has an amplifier inside as mentioned. Besides not being practical from a design standpoint, your speaker only has two wires which are highly likely the two wires to the voice coil. It's also clear from the picture that the speaker module has an active speaker and a passive radiator to extend the bass.
