Wow, only 20k in almost three years, that's very good. I won mine from auction by accident with 145k. One year one month later I'm at 176k. I do have a second car but I just love driving the CVPI every day. The only thing I've done to it in those 30k is oil changes, transmission fluid filter change pan drop only, brakes on all four corners and I had an alignment done. The passenger window motor died so I had a spare motor from my previous CVPI.
As to the window regulator, I found that to be a common failing on the CV. I had to replace the right front window, and I was told I got the last one to be had in the state of Texas.
These cars are bulletproof. Especially if you take care of them. Found one back in 2018 in Indiana with only 8,700 miles on it. A 2011. Carfax said no accidents & I had my mechanic check it over. Said it was the cleanest, mint Crown Vic he’s ever seen. Just hit 18,000 miles this year. It’s been good to me so far. I heard these things will last over 350,000 miles so I might still have mine 30 years from now lol.
@@NYG5 Get on the marketplace bro. CarGurus, Auto Trader, CarFax, etc. That’s how I found mine. Just gotta keep tabs on those apps & check them repeatedly. You’ll find one.
I spent $5,300 for a 2011 with 104K miles. I've spent $15K on maintenance, tires, customizing, painting, etc. I look at it as a hobby car for me. Mine is a Money Pit but yours is a great value! I really enjoy my Crown Vic though. I have lots of fun with it.
I don’t know what people are talking about who have had problems! I have one with 250,000 miles on it. I have never spent one nickel on my car. Greatest every day driver car I have ever owned! Totally reliable, fast and trouble free. And yes, mine was a patrol car and not a pampered detective car or police chief car. They are great!
I put 60,000 hard hard miles on mine and never had any problems either. But that being said these are well documented problems and being that there were a million of these cars produced there's going to be issues with some
I watched this video 3 months ago, when you posted it, and it sealed the deal on buying a CVPI for me. Fast forward to today, and this video is my checklist for all the things I'll be tackling over the next year to bring the most life out of the car again. You have an awesome P7B, I love these cars so much
Public surplus dot com is the website I bought this off of. They’re getting scarce and expensive, but there’s still a few on there when I look at it these days.
Radiator support cover is clipped over the header panel from the looks of it. Good video, I've had 2 and the one now for over 10 years. They're reliable and get good mpg. Parts are cheap and when taken care of, give you a great ride and service. Amazon has a great led bulb upgrade (requires some wiring) for the unity spotlight for really cheap. My only issue was axle seals, not axle related just worn out. Easily a cheap 500k mile car.
Im 3 months into owning a P7B 2011 in white. have had to do a fair amount of work on it - I found out that it was a San Antonio detectives car, and had been in a decent smash before it made its way to Dubai where I purchased it - looking good as new. I paid almost $4000, and have spend another $3000 getting it to the point that it's a solid commuter. Just the sagging front struts to address and the horn that stopped working last week... Old cop car life is more expensive than I had bargained for that's my one take home from my experience with cvpi ownership. But I would buy again for sure.
Great video happy to see you posting recently. Maybe try white Led bulbs that’ll help and order a headlight cleaning kit stuff works great. It’s temporary fix but works. If I put a push bar on a grand marquis it’ll look like a P71 would you agree? I can’t decide this or town car. The P71 looks pretty fierce but town car is comfy lol
You could put a push bar on a grand Marquis and it would look closer to a P71, but i think the front bumpers on the Grand Marquis’s are different and you’d have to cut holes in them for the push bar. Town Car is extra cushy but more stuff to go wrong with air suspension and more electronics. I recently got rid of my 2023 Acura and now my Crown Vic is in daily driver status so I am putting more miles on it and loving it!
@@CarDietrich that’s a really good idea I haven’t see. A grand marquis but I’m sure it looks amazing. I’ll have to look that up makes sense though. Thanks for the reply I appreciate it! 😊
I still lurk on public surplus looking for a retired Taurus Interceptor Sedan with the Ecoboost V6. 365 HP and AWD. They are few and far between to say the least
I have a 02 ford crown victoria police interceptor what would you recommend for middle or center console and what u might want to do is where the push guard is is put lights in the middle to help u see better at night
The spot light I fixed for 30 bucks. with a Amazon bulb and an allen wrench. I had to cut and swap the connectors ends but that was easy. I had a connector end kit.
I've bought and sold more of those CVPI's that I can count. As to the rear window defogger, if the wires aren't connected that is no problem. If they aren't you can pretty well forget it. The "wires" on the back glass are just adhered on. They may have been removed during a tint job. I found the best things to do on those headlights was to go to the Ford dealer and buy two new replacements. You didn't mention how many miles currently are on the car, or how many idle hours it has. I can assure you, you can sell that car right now for exactly what you have in it. I currently drive a 2007, and a 2008, both were owned by the Texas Alcoholic Bev. Commission. Love them and I don't have a $700 a month car payment. I insure them both with liability only. Hang on to that car, you already got your money's worth out of it. Thanks for the video.
Thank you for watching! The car has about 178,500 miles on it right now and just over 1,300 idle hours. I had the tint installed at a shop that has done six other cars for me and they never messed up the rear defroster before, so I somehow imagine it was broken when I bought it. Thank you for watching!
If you are keeping the car because you like it and take pride in ownership its a good investment. I had an '04 daily runner CVPI for 16 years, bought it in 2007 with 85K, just disposed of it a couple of months ago with 248K, had too many 'needs' and extra issues that it became more advantageous to replace it with another Panther, an '05 Lincoln Town Car Signature with oem creature features, high tech comfort bonuses, and lower mileage. The CVPIs were driven hard by action hero cops and other 1st responders but the Mercs and LTCs rode with tlc by affluent leading citizens and village elders. Others might disagree but I'm disinclined to undertake extensive time consuming expensive restoration projects, thats the money pit. You are not there yet, your efforts are justified. For all you have upgraded, adding replacement GoodYear Eagle GT 97V tires, the P71B would be worth about $10,000 for a resale or just to have and enjoy it for the next 10 or 20 years.
Money 💰 🤑💰 PIT and BRICK 🧱 💩 HOUSE 🏠 INDEED!!! These cars are NEVER ENDING problems and projects that constantly break down and need parts 〽️ replaced every other month!!! AVOID them like the PLAGUE!!!!
MONEY 💰🤑💰 PIT! The police 🚓 department beats the heck out of them and does minium maintenance on them! I have a 2011 Crown Victoria interceptor and everything has been replaced under the hood and then some both in and outside of the interior! Unless you can find a detectives car that's been well maintained! RUN far away from this vehicle!!! I'm selling it!!!
8:08 on second thought, maybe I’ll replace those tires a little sooner than August

The final Ford Taurus, and any ES Lexus come to mind when the topic of ultimate highway cruisers arises. This can certainly join that group of cars.
