On the handling at high speeds - most of these are still on the original front end. Even after a simple front end rebuild they are rock solid at their top speed. Not that I'd know...
I'm confident in taking a curve at 60+ mph in my 08 Crown Vic. I love the updated rack-and-pinion steering in 03+ Panthers. I had a 1994 Crown Vic, It's a night and day difference in handling.
@@infinity3jif Same sitch here. I went from a 98 mgm to an 04 cvpi (last non-dbw car and the fastest year for the cvpi) and swapped the interior and comfort bits from the mgm to the cv. Rebuilt the front end on the cv, did a timing job and a tune up and put wider lower profile wheels - it feels like a racecar compared to the old mgm now!
Thanks for this video! Every time you brought up a topic, I was like, "I already know that" but you went in greater detail, and I learned something from every section! I'd love to see more crown vic videos! Keep it up. You got my sub! Edit: you already have more vic videos! Now I got something to do today!
Is it a standard odometer? Does it not light up? To check it using a computer, you need the forscan application and a USB to OBD2 adapter. The odometer not working is a common issue and can be fixed if you know how to solder. Otherwise you can send the entire gauge cluster to get fixed. I sent on of mine to Royal clusters (on instagram) and I had it back within 4 days.
Wow I did not know that about the trunk latch button, I’ve locked my keys in the trunk maybe 3 times. Ima definitely gonna swap mines lol. Also I didn’t know about the test technique I wanna try it on mines I have 2011 police interceptor
Wow solid video, recently got my hands on an 08 P71 Norsea Blue with 140k. Trunk fact is neat I had no idea. My trunk opens without the key having to be in the ignition.
Have an '04 p71, best year ever (last of throttle by cable), it is the one of the greatest car I've owned, with 225,000 miles on it. More than 3/4 of which I put on the car. Not the fastest or quickest, but she sounds great with glass packs, gets consistent mileage, and does anything I ask. Only bests my '68 Galaxie, 390ci (6.4L) on miles per gallon, Which does everything else better! Thus keeping them both neck and neck for the title.
People not using that OD button has destroyed a lot of transmissions, anything 40mph and below keep it off . Anything above turn it on. I use my countless times a day even when slowing down at 45mph OD off. As I’m driving from a red light or whatever once I hit 40-45 OD on. 254k miles and my transmission shifts great.
You should also add some weight in front fo the rear seat and spread it out through the trunk. Like 3-500lbe + my 230lb ass with studs all around its a champ
2:25 I thought C6 is the code for 3.55 LSD, and C8 is for 2.73 open?
You are correct! I had C6 written down in my notes, but I said C8 by accident.

I don’t know what you are talking about 🙂↔️🙂↔️🙂↔️🙂↔️

I agree, I got a Vic LX back in Sept and it was super floaty. New upper and lower ball joints plus a set of shocks transformed the ride a good bit
I learn more and more about these every day! Hope to see more from you. Thanks for the info
Good video. Although I knew a lot about crownvics before, I still learned something new here. Thanks!

What type of gas mileage do you normally get?
@@wadethetrucker About 23mpg mixed, and 19.5 if all in town with the AC on. The ol' Galaxie gets 9...... ish..
