      Rooflines! I do love interesting ones. It can completely change your build and it is really difficult to master.

      Some of the most popular Minecraft TH-camrs out there can learn from you about not overdoing the texturing😉

      Teraforming would be a good topic to cover. Could range from contouring the terrain or building up or taking away to fit builds all the way to creating natural feeling pathways.

      Could you do floor plans and statues. Varunas town hall(angled interior and over decorated outside) and their agnoia(simple masterpiece) are 2 very informative builds where anyone who can replicate those 2 will probably be able too build anything based on their diverse techniques used.
      Yet I've found no videos on such techniques.
      I just found your channel I hope you can help.

    Even my favorite Minecrafter does the “thicc boy,” overly detailed wall. 😂 I sometimes add too much and think, “do I need this? Does it look good without it?” Then that block is eliminated. Texturing really lessens the need for detailing.

    • @AdieCraft
      @AdieCraft  2 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      That’s a good way to look at it. 👍🏻

      It all comes down to personal preference. Texturing doesn’t come close to adding the same amount of depth as detailing with trap doors or fences for example. Texturing is more about adding visual interest and keeping an area from looking too boring. It’s barely useful for adding depth Imo.

    I absolutely love how you bring in the fundamentals of art and composition to explain and back up your building tips! Not only does it make the build tips make sense, but it helps watchers to learn to build for themselves, not just follow tutorials and copy others' styles!
    I gotta go watch the rest of this series for sure!

    Personally, I like how you illustrate and explain your build principles (nice editing and choice of images in the opening, btw). I’m practicing gradients and depth, but most of my builds are meant to seen up close, so this video encouraged me in my choices to opt for more subtle shading and layers. Thanks!

    I love the way you teach by setting everything out and explaining it all so well so thank you. It can be hard to find helpful content about Minecraft building. So many tutorials are more like specific tutorials rather than lessons on fundamental art concepts and mechanics of each type of item.

    Good tips.
    I do like the depth of extra thick walls though. I think it might work well with really large builds. Or I guess if the build of something smaller is carefully designed so the interior looks nice as well.

    • @AdieCraft
      @AdieCraft  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes. when used in the right way they can work well. For example a Gothic cathedral will have protrusions many meters from the structure in real life.

    5:25 Surely it is dark that looks further away? For example, if I have a wall of stone and the center is inset, it is darker. The same illusion could be prosuced by having a flat wall with light blocks on the outer edges and dark blocks in the center.

    How do I add depth to a pyramid build

    • @AdieCraft
      @AdieCraft  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would use shading to add depth as you don't want to change the shape. But Pyramids don't really have depth. They are flatter spaces by design, so I would be subtle about it. Check out my recent Jungle Pyramid tutorial for some ideas.

      Most of them are less than 1m that but you have to make do with the 1m standard size of a block. So saying 6m is crazy is a pretty solid example of something being unrealistic
