If the area has more monsoons (Philippines Archipelago) they have drastic overhangs much more pronounced than UK architecture to shed even more rain water. 1:20:03 dry and arid architecture have domed roof to keep the inside of the building cool as hot air rises cold air falls. Exterior doors are deeply recessed to shade the door and keep that air cool. windows aren't made of glass to avoid the greenhouse effect and instead made of the same material the walls are but in a lattice and high up to allow that hot air to escape the building.

Really enjoying this movie so far... been watching a lot of miniminuteman and seeing ancient civilizations and the ways they built their homes and villages along with the terrain, angling holy sites to face the sun when it rises and planning their cities so very carefully but also spontaneously in the form of desire paths so that they're equal parts random and beautiful- it's made me want to get back into minecraft building. I'm especially enamored by the puebloan cliff communities in mesa verde, and i'd love to transform a badlands biome into something so homey and warm like that :)
Someone should invent a device that connects to your phone and pauses the video you’re watching when you fall asleep so that you can pick right back up where you left off later. (I really want to watch this but I’m very tired and it’s 2:36 am)

This is, by far, one of the best, most complete (if not THE very best) and well explained Minecraft building videos I've ever seen! It deserves a complete comment, so here goes my attempt: I'm puzzled. Normally I'd be fascinated with all these awesome, detailed or stylized buildings, and I'd feel inspired to do my own, but then I'd always end up stressed out and not finishing them, whether it is because I'm not skillful enough to emulate what I see in these kinda videos, or just because... Minecraft is a game to me, and I come to it for relaxation. And, building; particularly making a good building, takes a lot of time, thinking and practice. An amount of effort I wouldn't normally want to put in a game I intend to relax with. And this is coming from someone who has studied architecture in college and has seen most of the concepts and theory shown here. I'm still eager to build all sorts of constructions in this game, since... Well, it's easier than actually going out and building in the real world, isn't it? I don't know what conclusion to make out of this. I just wanted to express a concern that I've seen quite a lot of people deal with in the Minecraft community. If you want to take something out of this, it could be that it is OK to not want to build these colossal, grandiose mega-bases, or even smaller projects like a detailed aesthetic winter cottage in a taiga, with a bit of terraforming around it. Sometimes it is ok to be lazy, since it tells us what we actually want (or not) to do, and how much effort it would represent for us to do it. Maybe it's all about dropping expectations and start REALLY simple, allowing mistakes and, enjoying the process as one of the many things you can do in this seemingly simple, yet surprisingly complex cube, sandbox survival game. . .. ... .... ..... .... ... .. . PS: I realise this comment could actually make a good video script, but honestly I don't make videos, so I don't have a clue about that lol. Maybe some time in the future...

incredible video :0!! i picked up minecraft again after a few years and thought building was way out of my comfort zone (I am very comfy with my dirt houses and pure wood bases) but this made it feel so approachable! i had no idea a lot of making builds look good came down to art fundamentals but it totally makes sense! hoping i can flex a little on my friends with all the fun tricks lol ^^
For angles and curves, First, I like to stick to 3 main rotations. 1: perfectly straight 2: complete 45 degrees 3: 3 blocks across for 1 block out. I find anything else needlessly complicated for small-medium scale builds, although there's nothing stopping you from trying, so don't let me discourage you. And second, don't be afraid to freestyle some of your curves. Sometimes an "incorrect" curve can look better depending on how it's cut and detailed. Some "correct" curves look more like squares or diamonds, so have a go at embellishing the corners some. If you want to have octagons and circles in the same area, it might be worth making your circles more like rounded squares to show a clearer intention and separation between the two.

minecraft is labor of love, I know people use third party programs for their mega projects but even then it takes time and planning. I prefer to stay retail and my projects are very small as I have very limited time to play but I enjoy watching the creativity and ingenuity of other players who make some impressive and interesting builds and find fun ways to use game objects and features.
using slabs as a floor is actually interesting. you would need to place any workbenches on a full block or slab on top of slab or else it floats, which floating has its benefits in some cases.

This is a genuinely amazing resource for beginner builders, especially taking into account distance at which the build is viewed and how gradients play into it But for some reason, towards the end and start of each segment, the audio gets really weird? I don't think it's anything on viewer side, but it's really strange
At the 23:49 mark you show a building and talking about smooth quartz. Just prior to that you showed a bunch of builds that look very cool. Would you by chance have schematics you could share of them? The one on screen at the above mention time stamp would be the one im most interested in.
Pick a couple of core colours that you want and then use complimentary or contrasting colours and tones to go alongside them. Start with no more than 5 or 6 blocks in a block palette and then you can increase as you become more confident.
I have to say, your English is so good haha. I mean, i am german and i would say my English is not the very best.😅 So there are few English-speaking creators where i dont understand any word. But in this video i understood the most. Great to improve my English understanding 👍🏻

It's a mixture of Walls, Blocks and Fences. You can get some super pointy effects.

Where there is a texture pack it’s Vanilla BDCraft, but it’s normally just vanilla.
