I love how it's not really a sad song with a million violins trying to oversell it. It's more peaceful then anything else. Like a theme you'd hear after escaping a horrible place and then later slowly walking along a beach alone. It was painful, but at least now you're free.

Wow. Incredibly well described. Those songs are my favourites. They give you this feeling of tragedy and rough reality of life but also give you this feeling of having made it to the end of the journey. There are still scars that will never heal but you made it. You finally found peace. Finally you're looking into the distance and feeling the warm wind. You're free.

Yeah I feel like at a certain point of the song there's a theme of empowerment in a way. That's just my take on the feeling it gives lol.

exactly. I was introduced to the series by the movies, and hen I first saw the scenes of District 12 all I could think of was the poverty in my country :/ this might be a fun work of science fiction but it is strikingly realistic

TheS1lentScreamer yeah. Same here. After the first movie was released i started reading the books. It is an awesome book/story and I believe people love it so much because it talks about social issues and stuff that are shrugged a lot or is not talked about in most movies. We see it in a few clips in movies but that's about it. And the fact that it is a teen or a young adult novel is brilliant. A lot of young adults are now talking about poverty, killings, the government and such. #AwesomeBookIsAwesome :D

Humans don't really appreciate the value of life and all it has to offer until it's gone. Then again, most of us don't appreciate anything. We take everything for granted.

This music is so... I don't even know how to put it. When I was a kid and I thought about dying and going to an afterlife this is how it made me feel. A very strange feeling, almost as if you were going home after a very long time and this was all just a dream. A part of me was sad to leave it all behind, but I could feel this growing sense of relief, happiness and amazement that really is out of this world. I pretty much lost all faith in anything; that is to say I am more confused now that I ever was before, and the more I learn the less I am sure about anything in this life. Still, that feeling of hope is somewhere deep down within me; hoping that no matter how bad things seem to be there is a light at the end of the tunnel.. I guess we'll never know until we get there.

Ikr, I know exactly when it's coming and it still sends shivers down my spine, whatever piece it's included in. It has to be in Part 2 now to keep up the tradition as it were aha. The Tour is my favourite from the whole series, although Rue's Farewell is just an incredible piece of music that just sums up the whole Hunger Games series for me

+doppiadthebest I thought they might end Part 2 with a sadder rendition of the Hanging Tree, but Rue's Lullaby was perfect.
Hanging Tree is inspirational and a song of rebellion, and suits Part 1 as the Mockingjay stokes the fires of revolution.
I think Rue's Lullaby, being a more intimate song, reminds us of what they fought for, of love and of coping with your losses in the aftermath of war.

This song always really moved me, but now I will remember it for another reason.
My cat of 17 years had been battling stage 4 kidney disease for a short while before we had to make the decision to let her sleep before the disease forced her to starve to death or caused her too much pain that she could not move. The day we were set to bring her in to the vet, I awoke to this song playing on the Pandora app on my phone.
I could not have chosen a better way to remember that day than this piece of music. Some times in life you must lose what you love, but you can only move forward and make the best of it.
Farewell Figaro, February 21, 2019. You will be missed sweet girl.

GRANDCENTRAL43067 when you die is said that your brain has about seven minutes of activity left in it so you could live your entire life all over again in seven minutes kinda like a dream before you die so seeing as that is said you actually do see your life flash before your eyes before you die. So if this is true we could all be dead right now just reliving our life in the last seven minutes of a brain activity before we actually die.

I love the intro to this song... whenever I have a panic attack I like to play it and turn on the flashlight on my iphone, shining it in my face pretending I'm dying. They used to take my mind to a really dark place; one full of so much hopelessness it's impossible to understand for someone who has never felt that way before. Now my mind feels tranquil, and all the chills and tingles that come over my body are almost cathartic. I picture a hospital bed with a beautiful view of southern Italy glaring at me through my window. The sun is about ready to set, and it laces the entire world in it's golden light. There are flowers and vines by the silky white and pink curtains, and you can see the light shine right through them, bouncing off all the particles of pollen and dust which sparkle everywhere. I breathe in a deep sigh of relief, and I can smell the cool ocean breeze mixed with the scent of roses. I walk to the balcony and climb up the handrail, staring down into the ocean and than onward into the sky. I think to myself, if only my life could have always been this beautiful, but in the end it doesn't matter, I'm here now.

I cannot stop crying and I haven't seen the boy in my life. I think this is what being human is all about. Love and pain binds Mankind together. If there anything one can be in this world, one should be kind. I pray for his soul. I hope it has found it's place in the universe.
