Ok, let me start by saying it's your bike and you don't need to justify what you want to do to anybody as long as you're happy with it. Personally however I like the hard bag look a lot better to me the leather pros look kind of cheap again this is only my opinion and it's not my bike so my opinion doesn't matter just my two cents is all.
Finally someone addresses the Elephant! I hate the fact they are different sizes! Drives my OCD thru the roof! Why didn’t HD just put a two into one exhaust on and make the bags the same size????? Thanks for letting me rant Heather! Pete
Before I had it I thought the same thing! They grew on me and after awhile it didn't bother me - only times it did were when I wanted to stuff it with things and THEN I remembered one was smaller lol!
@@MotoBlonde I love the look of the bike, but the bags turn me away. I’ve dropped a CVO bag off my street glide because of the old style pin connectors… you are right, they are expensive!!!
I like the OEM bags on my Low Rider ST…and was surprised at how much room there actually is in them. Ya definitely need to give thought to what, where and how much ya stuff into them…and I’d definitely prefer top loaders, but…. They’re fine for me for local riding, and I’d be taking a rack-mounted bag on any multi-day rides anyway, so I’m good with them. No question that the Leather Pros offer more space. It’s whatever works best for the rider!
Hi Heather, Ray L. here. Hope all is well with you and Anthony. I took the Low Rider for a test ride during Laconia bike week, the performance was amazing, I want a 117, 121 or 131 engine swap in my Electra glide Ultra. As for the bags on the LR-ST for me Harley engineers 100% blew it, the bags suck the way they open, stupid design I'd through them in the trash.
The ST is the new Sport Glide. I've been wanting that bike since COVID '20. I do a lot of long distance riding on my Yamaha Bolt R-Spec; in '21 went to New Mexico at the Oklahoma Texas Panhandle 971 miles from New Orleans where I live. It was 90 degrees out when I left, two days later Memorial Monday it was 52 degrees out in Clayton, NM and I wasn't prepared for it, and by the time I got to Boise City, OK it was drizzling out. Some guy Keith in a pickup at a Love's truck stop gave me a sweat jacket to wear under my riding gear.👍
Good look with the leatherpros, I have throw over bags on my 2014 Low Rider, always wanted hard bags but leatherpros hold more and look good. Don’t get me wrong, I bought my bike new, and with the bags I have it’s a good luck. I have a detachable back rest and, luggage rack. Your bike looks awesome.
I think the factory hard saddlebags is the best looking. And I would take waterproof over not waterproof any day. There is no right or wrong in either one it's your bike do what you want and it will be right. Ride safe.
Yes I would have the sissy bar on as it looks really cool 😎. Also yes I agree go with the bigger soft bags as the more space the better. Gotta have space available on trips.
I added the Advanblack king size tour pack with their smoked reaper lights on mine because the side bags suck lol. My lunch bag was too big to fit in one. And even though one is smaller I swear you don’t notice a difference when packing them out. Eventually I want a 2 into 1 and then put bigger bags on it, maybe. Pretty happy adding the king size tour pack. Keep the videos coming!!
In 2008 I added a Yamaha FJR with the side opening bags. I hated them. Hard to pack and everything fell out too easily. I sold that bike quickly in a large part for that reason and just went with the Heritage. The bags you put in are a vast improvement
It’s your bike and do it up how you want it to be. That’s the great thing about bikes is that you can customize it any way you want to truly make it your own
Heather, I like the look. You said it you need to check in. Click, click there go the bags with you. Hey be different, you know what I mean. The ultimate decision is yours. Ride Safe.......
I travel coast to coast once a year and the hard bags are nice just because you can lock them but I’ve been riding all my life and I’m 66 now and never had any problems with anyone trying to steal anything from my bike so that’s where the soft bags come in,you can put so much more in them and just take them off running around town
You made the right choice Heather. Would like to see it with the Tour Pak on. I think it will look fine and it's easy to go from Sport Tourer to Sport in less than a minute.
Dang! I was hoping you were going to go with the bag support rails and OEM style standard length bags from Advanblack. It looks so sick on a FXLRS and FXLRST.
Well I put road king standard hard bags on my 2022low rider ST. I will be at Daytona bike week with it. I reused the stock hardware to mount them and also used the stock key and locks. Hope to see you and many others at bike week.
I understand your dilemma, since its so easy to swap out, I think I would keep hard bags on all the time except for long trips when you need the extra room, I feel the hard bags look better even knowing they are different size. The sissy bar looks bad ass too me with the leather bags looks more old school sorta.
I have both sets on 2 different bikes. The Streetbob has LT”s and ST has the hard and I’ve owned 4 sets of leather pros. The leather not the nylon. Hands down leather pros are 100 % better for trips and hold tons more shit…. But the hard bags definitely look better.
I had the leather pros on my street bob. At first they were good bit the snaps broke, they weathered badly, they aren't water tight but hell ya they hold a ton of stuff. Messaged about the snaps breaking and wasn't given much help. Also had to have the extended all the time as the when collapsed the lid wouldn't snap shut. Sold the bike and bought a street glide special 🤠
Kinda the same here. Not a big fan of the shallower bag on the right side and wish they provided more room. That said, I do like the hard bag, even the clamshell style, but then I have the El Diablo and it just wouldn't look the same. Now on your black bike or on a grey one, I really like the Leather Pros. Certainly provides more room. I guess if I was going to take a long road trip then I might get those and switch them out for those trips. Thanks for sharing that.
I first heard about leatherpros on the shadetree surgeon channel. Peaked my interest with the functionality of them. Then there was her two wheels, MMJ and you. So I got them for the function, now I totally love the look on my 2020 softail standard. (I got the jacket weight leather) if they make rain covers for them, I think that will put them over the top!
I don't think it's a bad idea at all, and I totally get why you made this change. Personally, without the tour pack on there, I like the look of the Leather Pros better than I do the hard bags. With the tour pack, and without seeing it, I think I have to agree with you that the look will be a bit off, considering the tour pack has a gloss finish like the rest of the bike. Who knows, though! The biggest drawback I have with the Leather Pros is the lack of waterproofing. I had a set on my Low Rider S and would've went with them again on the ST had they been fully waterproof. I did a 2500-mile trip on my Low Rider ST last July with a combination of the hard saddle bags and a sissy bar/bag combo. It worked very well for me, but that's not to say I didn't also wish for a little extra room at times, especially in that right-side saddle bag. All I would throw in there was like a sweatshirt , a tool kit, and my rain gear and it'd basically be maxed out.
I agree! I am definitely keeping the hard bags to try out different setups - I know there is a company that makes covers for the LeatherPros so they are waterproof - like a rain coat lol! So I might look into that as well. Definitely would have to put the sissy bar on and a waterproof bag attached and would be good to go on a trip. We will see once I get to ride what works best - I'll definitely post it!
I would do the same by swapping the stock bags out for leatherpros. I keep my full face helmet in my leather pros, it holds a ton of stuff. Also used 3M scotch guard spray to waterproof them. lock them w a masterlock.
I have a sport glide.... Hard bags are my favourite, sorry! The soft bags without the third attachment point might not be as stable or they might not hold as much weight, I am not too sure...... I have the liners , only for when I go away. I love the fact that the hard bags lock, simple as that. By the way, no matter the type of exhaust, the right bag will always be a bit smaller.... Oh, by the way, harley sells the overwatch bags, they seem very, very similar.....
I'm going to make a suggestion and it's just my opinion I think you're doing a fine job on your scooter I like the bags that you're putting on I like what you've done as far as blacking out what you want to black out your exhaust I'm not a big two in the one person but the way you're setting up the back of your bike with the bags the tour pack and the sissy bar you can go either way with your turnpike and sissy bar but my own opinion I think you should set yourself up with what makes you comfortable ape hangers I believe that would extremely set off your bike
Since you ask what we thought. I like the hard bags. But, if you were going on a trip for a few days, the bigger bags would be better. Love the look of the Sissy bar. That's just me though.
I can't help thinking how much the LRST would have been if H-D designed the bike with a 2-into-1 exhaust and made the OEM panniers equal size and larger.
@@y35n00b5 They designed a "Sport Bagger". They should have ditched the Sport Glide small bags and designed a better version. I've been riding Harley's for 43 years, trust me, they always drop the ball at some point in the design. Hard bags are nice but the clam shell design sucks i prefer top load. Pro bags are and look nice fits what works for you. I would keep backrest on and put luggage rest in the bag and use it when needed.
Imo. It’s probably a great idea to have both options.. depends on are you going over night.. or the weekend or the week or longer_ That might be the determining factor for which bags to take….
I like hard bags. I like the look and the weatherproof of them. The leather like good too, I just personally prefer hard bags. I have a 2002 Sportster with the leather bags. They look nice but if i was going to keep it, I would find done hard bags for it. I know many don't want bags on a sportster at all. I needed some storage for my trips into town.

There is a company out there that makes waterproof covers, I would definitely get them before I took them out for a long haul. Function over beauty for sure I agree, whatever works!!
It’s a beautiful bike. But I hate the side opening bags vs the standard top open hard Harley bags. Now these bags are sweet but at $935 and everything gets wet and no ability to lock, it defeats my needs. Thanks for sharing .

This was great and gives you some good options! If ya needed the tour pack, swap your bags back out . I agree the leather pro with the tour pack might not have the COOL look, but you could definitely carry a lot of $#!+ lol
I have been following you for a while and am enjoying the journey. I actually don't like the hard bags. leather pros all the way. I am going to get the sissy bar with the extension to put a travel pack on the back of mine. Just more functional for my purpose.
How do you like your sdc seat? I'm 5'5" (30ish inseam) with a road glide. The stock seat sits my to far back and is too wide. Would this seat work for me?
I would have stuck with the hard bags, but that's only because I'm a dude and packing for a trip consists of a change of underwear 🤣. The leather pros look good though. Also I think it is a law that you are entitled to half of Anthony's road glide storage during road trips 😁
Very nice Heather! You beat me to it again!!! ;-). I am thinking the same thing, just don't like the stock bags, but I am probably going to go with standard hard bags, but still weighing it out. As always, another great topic, where is the information on the sissy bar? Haven't seen that video or info yet??? LOL
Heather leather pros 👍 The best part is, like you said they come off. Hopefully they do have a pouch to put around the bag. Heather you mentioned sissy bar, do you have a video on install sissy bar with the leather pros? Is the hardware different?
I don’t remember if my leather pros video from my 2020 LRS had the sissy bar in it - but LP gave different size bolts so only difference was making sure I used the right size!
I got the leather pro because i dont have side bags. In your case, you have the best hard pannier came with it. I think its excessive to get leatherpros Hard bag definitely because your fairing matched with them. Plus the top box will look ugly with leatherpros.
I get it! I agree that the tour pack will not look good with the LeatherPros - but I am keeping the hard bags as well so I have lots of options to try!
I first must say that the leather pros look a lot better on the bike, when you were holding them up and the hard bags were still on the bike I was like “nah”. But now that you’ve mounted them thumbs up 👍🏾. Love the sissy bar with them, it makes them look like a complete setup. Now your going to be like the Aunt that pulls fried chicken out of her purse in the movie theater 😂😂 What’s your husband think about the bags? Does he have them too?
😂😂😂Don't think I haven't packed a whole meal in a bag and smuggled it in the theater 😂 I brought one of the kids in a banana split once 😂 Anthony doesn't have them - he has the bigger bags on the Road Glide so he likes them. LeatherPros 100% fit more than the touring bags though lol!

It's definitely law lol! I'm keeping the hard bags and I'll use them both for sure!
Life_behind_bars, love the Law comment. Girls gotta be comfortable.
@@MotoBlonde looking to sell the left saddlebag?
Hey what seat is that and are you able to flatfoot w it? I like those bags btw. Thinking about trading my iron 883 for the ST soon
LOL
I want saddle bags for my low rider s so I brought a 2022 road glide special nice and easy 😊
Looks great and works!! No brainer , ride free 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Heather leather pros 👍
The best part is, like you said they come off.
How do u like that seat?
Love it
I got the leather pro because i dont have side bags. In your case, you have the best hard pannier came with it. I think its excessive to get leatherpros
Hard bag definitely because your fairing matched with them. Plus the top box will look ugly with leatherpros.
I get it! I agree that the tour pack will not look good with the LeatherPros - but I am keeping the hard bags as well so I have lots of options to try!
That is why I'd rather build a Lowrider S out with clam shell (FXR style bags) and a traditional FXRT fairing.
I first must say that the leather pros look a lot better on the bike, when you were holding them up and the hard bags were still on the bike I was like “nah”. But now that you’ve mounted them thumbs up 👍🏾. Love the sissy bar with them, it makes them look like a complete setup.
Now your going to be like the Aunt that pulls fried chicken out of her purse in the movie theater 😂😂
What’s your husband think about the bags? Does he have them too?
😂😂😂Don't think I haven't packed a whole meal in a bag and smuggled it in the theater 😂 I brought one of the kids in a banana split once 😂
Anthony doesn't have them - he has the bigger bags on the Road Glide so he likes them. LeatherPros 100% fit more than the touring bags though lol!
@@MotoBlonde a banana split! Now that’s some OG stuff right there😂🤣😂😂
How dare you switch 😂….makes sense to me and if they are easy to change out I would just keep both. HNY
😂 Definitely keeping both! HNY!
How is the bike for your height did you do anything for lowering it besides your seat?
Not bad - I didn’t do anything else. The seat didn’t change much. I do wear chunky boots which helps too.
How do they lock?
Much better👍🏻🇦🇺
What size did you get?
