Mt 07 is an insane bike, one of the best Ive had the pleasure to ride. A complete masterpiece of performance and durability. just add gas and ride it for years and years without any major problems.

I've had Sportsters, Dynas, Fatboys, V-rods, Xr1200R, and swapped to a 2016 Yamaha XSR900 and LOVED IT. So light, nimble, and fun. I've had it 7 years now and never once have I missed my Harleys. My only regret is this closet full of Harley gear I'll never wear again.

I just picked up the Trident 660 and I absolutely love it. It comes full of tech such as a slipper clutch, traction control with rider modes, self canceling indicators. It is still very light and nimble and has that beautiful triple sound. I recommend giving it a try. Or if you want more I'd go Street Triple.

@@dante8s I upgraded a month ago to a Street Triple R 675 and I absolutely love it. I initially wanted to bu a 765 (used, because I can't afford a brand new one and didn't want to finance) but heard so many stories about TFT displays going bad, that I settled for the best 675 I could find. It had only 2k miles when I picked it up and it's an absolute dream to ride. All the power I(!) need and incredibly nimble.

Dear Moto Blonde. The Yamaha MT-07 is a proven winner with more after market support. For you greater after market support equals more how to vids and a better ride for you. The MT-07 may cost more, but you will recoup much of that back when you sell it. I would get the MT-07 over the CFMoto.

Stock mt07 will still wheelie no problem and still has plenty of torque. Stock the suspension isn't great but its adequate for general use. Mt07 are good reliable bikes with plenty of aftermarket support and worst case scenario there typically easy to sell on private market and they hold there value relatively well.

Fellow MT07 rider here. I currently drive stock. Its a very jerky bike, I love that fact. But, its only in first and second gear with that raw power. I can full throttle on 3rd gear up no problem without any fear of that front wheel lifting up. You can always change the sprocket for a smoother ride. If you do want to get into the stunt side, FZ/MT 07 make great stunt bikes.

It cracks me up what is considered an entry level bike today compared to when I was growing up. I ride an MT-07 that I absolutely love, and the thing does 0-60 in under 4 seconds. I'm 57 years old, and back in my youth, you could run faster than a lot of the bikes we used to tool around on.

  • @mikeskidmore6754
    @mikeskidmore6754 ปีที่แล้ว +2

That's one thing about my FZ-07 you do need to be smooth on the throttle .. open a little and you get hard acceleration .. close a little and you get hard Engine Braking.. I have a Buell also and even though it has a much lighter crank and flywheel than Harley's have the Buell holds a very even speed because of all of the massive engine mass.
You can change the fuel shut off during deceleration on the MT-07 with a Tune.. Also you don't want to jerk the slack in the chain.. My Buell has a belt with a belt tensioner thus it never has a jerk in belt slack ..
I have not got a drag strip time on the Yamaha yet.. I would not be surprised if it is faster than the Buell in the quarter mile as it is 100 Pounds lighter.. My Buell @ 103 HP ran the quarter @ 12.77 @ 107 MPH ..

genuinely one of the worst bikes ive ever driven, acceleration and top speed is ok on them but thats about it, never felt something so unsettled in corners from the factory, suspension and tires are bad. Even a 1200 vfr was carrying more speed in the corners than this bike could, and feels quite uncomfortable if you have to sit on it for more than an hour. Kinda a pointless bike when you need to replace half of the parts to have a decent bike, but by the time you take the cost of new tires, suspension, brakes, seat, you add another 2k+ on to the bike.

I just bought a Husqvarna svartpilen 401 to compliment my Honda VTX1800 and love the new 401! Don't let the small displacement and seat height put you off (Not all 400cc bikes are the same). Its powerful, light, agile, super fun and very futuristic looking. It also has a very premium feel, plus comes with a ton of great features standard (switchable ABS, fully adjustable suspension, quick shifter etc) Its also super cheap at $5600. Loved the video on the 450SS. Even after getting a new Aprilia RSV4 Factory limited I still want the 450SS. As for the MT07 it's easily the bike I recommend for riders moving on from their beginner bike. I loved the 2018 MT07 I had which became my gf's MT07 when I bought a MT09 SP. The stock suspension gets hate from some as they say it's too soft. Yet the MT07 was designed to be a grunty torque monster for city riding and with many cities having crappy road conditions the soft suspension is meant to absorb those potholes and bumps. Legit with a fender eliminator, aftermarket exhaust and maybe a windscreen the MT07 is perfect. And if the cable throttle, no rider aids and no cruise control is a deal breaker then just get the MT09 SP. As the MT09 SP is a big improvement and just as much of a hooligan wheelie machine as the MT07. Also yes Grom + wheelies = some of the best times you'll have on 2 wheels.

If a Grom makes you feel it gives one of the best times you'll have on 2 wheels, why buy anything else? I get around Dallas on a 125 cc scooter. I can't ride on the highways, but I can get everywhere in the city. It just takes longer. Which means more riding time. I also get 91.5 mpg when I commute to work.

If you like the MT-07 look for new Honda Hornet 750 and a GSX-8S and try them as well, they offer a bit more power and more rider aids, I already rode the GSX and I can tell you the stock suspension is really good, the engine is like a CP2 + with extra torque up and down quickshifter and very fun to ride, also the quality is a lot better than the MT-07 which feels really cheap to me. the only downside is that the gsx is a bit heavier than the mt-07. I haven't ridden the new hornet so I can't say much about it but a lot of people like it even more, only pointing out the rear shock that is really not that great

  • @Love4boost
    @Love4boost ปีที่แล้ว +1

I’d say how much power do you actually need? Maybe a Ninja 400 or KTM Duke390. They have super low seat heights and compared to a LRST they’re probably just as fast or faster. I’m short as well not 5’1” but I’m 5’6” with short legs and arms so I understand where you’re coming from. I have the MT-09 and love it. I prefer the flat seat over the double seat because it gives me more room to move around so the stock seat keeps me way more comfortable than any Harley I ever owned, including the Street Glide I had. Also if you want more power and tech and don’t mind spending a little more money for it. I’d suggest the Tuono 660

For something with low seat height, light weight and enough power to weight ratio to be fun, the ninja 400 is hard to beat. The Duke has more torque but I like being able to rev over 10k rpms and not having to shift as much on the ninja.

Naked bikes are really only for round town riding. A lot of bike manufacturers have not got fuel injection sorted even after 20 years. The solution is to look at the clutch like a dirt bike rider. It isn't just in or out. There are times you need to slip it.

So much fun! Had a 2015 FZ09 and now a new MT-09SP. What ever I rode, it had to have a triple because I love the sound. They are definitely in their own world, not as lumpy sounding as twins, not high pitched screamers like inline 4s. Demonic, mean, and a little abrasive sounding. Feels a lot more powerful than the specs let on. Not stupid fast but very quick. Man does it pull hard! An absolute hooligan if you want it to be.

Try Honda NC750, it is pretty small, lightweight, have enough torque without whellies. Additionally it has a place for your helmet inside a tank - comfort a lot.
It can has the DCT transmission (automatic) or a manual one.

Not to throw another option into the list, but the new Suzuki GSX-8S would be a good one to check out. It has ABS, traction control, a slipper/assist clutch, power modes, and an up/down quick shifter. The seat height is pretty low and it's very comfortable. Very well may be my next bike.

Should also mention, the engine is a 776cc parallel twin making 82hp and 58lb ft of torque. Also, the CF Moto bikes are nice. My local shop is a dealer. But, not for nothing, the pricing is likely due to the fact that they are built in China. I'm not so sure if that's a bad thing or not with regards to quality or reliability, but for now, I'll stick with the Japanese bikes!

Sat on the GSX8 S at a dealership. I prefer it over the MT07, the GSX8 S has a slightly more standard ergonomic setup versus the very upright more motard ergonomics of the MT07. I’ve watched drag races between the 2 and the GSX8 S is a fair bit quicker

If you are going to have a spoiler on the front, it needs a lip or it sends the air right into your face, a camera on your chin will be enough to twist your head when you look to the side.

She'll be fine on the MT with the stock gauge cover instead of the metal Aftermarket one, unless she puts a full on screen on it. Only then will it force air to smack her face with turbulence. Same for my MT10, wanted a nice screen so air would just flow over my helmet and i'd have a nice pocket to sit in, instead it just funnelled it directly into my face. With no screen it's no issue either.

The MT-07 has wider handlebars than the FZ-07 had.. I put 2" risers on my 2016 FZ-07 angled back to help with my short arm reach.
The Trick to riding an R-07 is to put your chest on the gas tank to take the weight off your arms from having to hold yourself up with the low Clip ons.
This does not work for me as I like to have a Tank Bag..
My FZ-07 has a Madstad Windscreen that is adjustable and can be removed in two minutes.. I also have a Fly screen for the really hot days..
I have Givi 35 Liter clam shell side cases.. a 42 Liter Top case with a luggage rack too .. All can be moved in minutes.. I also have GIVI crash bars for an MT-07 Tracer only sold in Europe. During the Plandemic crash bars were sold out in the USA. I ordered mine from Italy and even with air freight they were cheaper than they sold for in the USA.
The FZ-07 has a narrower less padded seat.. I have an Airwhawk Air Cushion for longer rides that can be removed in seconds.

@mikeskidmore. Yea good advice. She's never road sport bike. Lay on the tank faster you go the comfortable it is to stay in the seat plus it takes the weight off your wrist. I have a bum left knee I can't bend my knee high enough to get my foot on the foot peg. Of any sport bike. So back in 2010. Saw 94 GSXR 750 street fighter 800 bucks.Doesn't run. Bought it lowered left peg pair motor cross far bars you had to watch hard lefts. If you didn't take your foot off the peg Foot would get pinched between the foot peg and the street. My knee got worse over the years. I put hwy pegs I up front use my heal to shift don't use the One I lowered. ,The 750 got tired So I stuck 2001 Bandit 1200 S motor in frame. Like your sitting teeny bit forward in an easy chair with Handel bars. That goes 150 and stops pretty good. Looks like a transformer for 30 year old bike. Still want MT 10. Peace😊

I haven't had a chance yet to ride many Yamaha sport bikes. My daughter bought an FZ07 and it is fun. I did take her to the Kawasaki demo truck, and we rode a handful of bikes. The 650 motor is great. Very smooth, with great power delivery. I fell in love with the Z900. That bike is sooooo well balanced, I had it going 1 mph with my daughter on the back and didn't have to put a foot down right away. Kawasaki could be a brand to look into for yourself. I have looked at CF Moto. They are appealing for sure, but of course, the aftermarket support doesn't seem to be there just yet, so you may be stuck with a stock bike for a while.

you might like the ninja 650. it has the sport bike look, but is upright like a naked. then it has the windscreen like any other sportbike so it is better on the highway. not as much power/torque from the one here, but not far off either. i would recommend at least a 5 minute test ride.

I like the MT-07 but I would not be able to ride one due to the soft stock suspension. Suspension is the most important thing for me since I like handling more than power. With that being said I bought a 2023 Kawasaki Z900 and am very impressed with the handling and the value of the bike. My bike take aways from sitting on the Z900 the first time was that I sit IN the bike and not ON it. The Z900 also has plenty of power since it has a 948cc I4. I had a FJ-09 with is the touring version of the MT-09 and hated it due to the super soft suspension, it was borderline dangerous going around curves and even passing 18 wheelers at highway speeds. The drone from that center exit exhaust makes it terrible just like my FJ-09 did. My Z900 exhaust comes out the back and is straight through and is liveable. Kawasaki has also had $1000 off lately so that helps a lot. I will stop rambling on now, just figured I would put my 2 cents in since naked bikes are my favorite. Oh and the wind isn't bad on the Z900.

Finally, a real motorcycle, huh. MT-07 is really good for beginners and women alike because its light, is very managable and still packs some oomph.
Since I'm too heavy for it I would lean more torwards a Tracer which I probably get for touring.
But when I want to rip I sure need something more substantial like my Tuono. Cheers
