- In this video I am Hydro Dipping some bike parts in a carbon fibre graphic. Its easy when you get the hang of it and take the proper precautions.
I hope this helps if I knew this stuff before I tried it things would have went smoother.

videos have always been fantastic and helpful. My only suggestion is a new mic or a dead cat for the existing one. There is a lot of background interference during the talking sections and a slight echo. hope that this is helpful.

Where did you get that graphic once done it has great depth what did you use?
In between the primer and first base coat, there is a "sealer" you spray on the primer to help with silver paint. What's the name of this, beside sealer? I'm trying to find some in a spray can and I can't figure out what to search for so I can purchase some. Thanks

From where do you get those items that stabilize the items you want to dip?
Are you using "regular" paint for plastic?
to clean the water from film leftovers, you can use silkscreen or any fabric.

where did you buy the film
The film took a while to flatten because of cold water it has to be warm for that reason. Top tip, de natured alcohol removes the hydro dip if you mess up but only in the first few hours before it's fully cured so no need to sand an start again.

How durable is dipping? I know you shoot clear over after, but would it work on a valve cover?

the parts were already dark colour before the plastic primer and pearl black ?? does the initial dark colour on the part make a difference prior to plastic primer and base-coat ?? and is pearl black the best base-coat colour ?
darren hill the initial colour doesn't matter as long as you get good coverage with your basecoats. I like the pearl as it has a nice sparkle to it. Best to test which basecoat you like.
im trying to do this without real activator its homemade and using a really bad spray bottle doesnt work well and also got no base coats because i have no acces to anything

Instead of clear coat, can you use resin instead to get more depth?
G37 Sam sure if you get a super clear resin. Also the UV stability of resin may not be as good as 2k clear.

nice technique and vid but the finished CF parts dont really look like CF to me, just looks like a dark-grey pattern of some sort.

Leave it for about 10 min. Search online for the films. There are plenty of places to get them from.

How durable is it? Can you wash over it? Heat resistance?
Andrew Paige it's got a clear over it so it's just as good as any painted surfaces
