I'm looking forward to updating The List with another year of recommended reads!! 📚💖 Your daily vlogs are so enjoyable, as always. I said to someone a few days ago, with a touch too much excitement I think, "Ali has some really great mushroom footage this year!" She laughed and laughed. But, I mean, it's true. And it is exciting. 😂
Love to see mia in your vlogs as do a lot of your viewers. She as you say is gentle and sweet and only wants to have peace and quiet in her life and she so obviously gets that from spending time with your family! I love people that love animals🙂. Your walk in your lunch hour at work was just great. Toadstools still giving there autumn colours and looking wonderful. Great to see you all❤
🧙♀️🍄 It's always so lovely to see Dan's face on your videos. He's quite a charmer! Thank you, Ali, for vlogtober, I have enjoyed every single episode!
Oh my goodness! I love ALL of your videos, and often talk back to you, because I can’t be bothered to type… but I simply HAD to tell you that that iMovie photo advice is life changing! I use iMovie also, and I’ve watched a ton of tutorials, and even took a class on editing on Skillshare, but your quick “how-to” was better than all that! Thank you for your constant generosity, and supportive spirit. Watching you has definitely been one of my greatest influences on creating my own channel. XOXO, Natasha
I have a Dan too and he, too, absolutely MUST have the TV on, whether he's watching it or not. Drives me bonkers! I once lived in an apartment alone for 9 months and had no TV. I didn't miss it at all whereas my Dan would go literally crazy, padded room crazy lol.
You should certainly try the winter without a dryer. I went over two years without one and living in Canada, I can only hang out for about 4 months a year. What a difference it made to my electricity bill!
HinAli, we have a dryer, but we do not use it much. I like air dried clothes. For instance my jeans. I hate dryer dried jeans. Towels are ok. Plus like you it saves energy. My Mom always line dried our clothes.
Still catching up but only a week behind now! I had to laugh (quite a lot, I'm afraid) as you answered the iMovie question, the way you kept raising the glass up again. As my husband would say of me, you were being a bit of an "awkward animal" just then (that's a compliment in my eyes!) Thank you for the chuckle and for all the work you put into your vlogs!
Thank you so much for answering my iMovie question ☺️ I loved how you held your glass up for that segment 😆 I obviously found it interesting 😄 And yes I’ve just started my TH-cam channel, it’s crochet and yarn related 😄 I wanted to start my channel when my youngest started school in September just gone, but I also work full time as a nurse (nhs) so only get so much time to do videos (as you’ll probably know!)… love watching your vlogtober vlogs, maybe I’ll try doing it next year! But hats off to you for keeping at it, it must be a lot of work to film, edit and do the thumbnails every single day!
Hi Ali. I have never had a tumble dryer so cannot do a comparison, my winter washing schedule is to hang the washing over the bath to dry. Usually this takes three days to be completely dry. Last winter we bought a Meaco dehumidifier and the washing, which I still hang over the bath, dries in around six hours. This is with the heating on low. Our energy meter shows it costs about 30p. I love it! We also use the dehumidifier in our bedroom to keep the condensation in check. The room is much warmer and we have noticed a huge difference. The winter quarter of our energy bill last year was only slightly higher than previous years. I can thoroughly recommend using a dehumidifier. xx
Piano solos like the one at the beginning is one of my favorites. Ducks! (Squirrel!) 😂 So glad lily is home. It’s so difficult when the kids leave the nest. Thanks for your great videos. ❤
Love your vlogs! Thank you so much for the lesson re moving pictures in iMovie! I didn’t know that and vlog everyday 😂 Take care and have a lovely weekend xx
I can highly recommend country life. We moved from Hertfordshire, to a very pretty village in Thanet Kent. The village is Minster. We are living the dream. My husband and I bought a beautiful equestrian property. I have my horses, ponies, donkeys, dogs, and 20 year old feral farm cat. Life is perfect. I’m so lucky. I can watch your channel, and knit. Keep up the good work.
Oh bless, Mia is just so sweet. I have our cat lying at the bottom of the bed. Also so sweet. 😸 another fabulous vlog. Thank you so much. Friday now and have a super weekend. ❤
My husband has the tv on all the time. It drives me bonkers. Sometimes he’s had it on so long it turns itself off! 🙄 We had a rubbish tumble dryer we never used. We got rid of it a few years ago & just use a heated airer. Definitely wouldn’t get another tumble dryer at this point. 👍🏻
Loving your vlogs. Watching you and your beautiful family is good for the soul😊 ive used a dehumidifier to dry clothes for a couple of years and its definitely more cost effective. We also have one in our bedroom. The amount of water it collects is incredible..where does it all come from?? It brings down humidity and strangely we don't get so much dust settling.. woohoo 🎉🎉
I’m in the UK visiting my son and his family. Because they have a small house I stay in an inn. Tonight someone came in to the room next to mine and proceeded to shout and argue loudly…I finally went into the hall and used to teacher voice to yell” knock it off”….it got quieter and quieter. Either they’re asleep…or in the bar….
and Kintyre had October two weeks at the beginning of October,, Glasgow 1 week in the middle, one confused granny. My washing machine and dryer have gone, think I'll follow your dehumidifier route
I hang my clothes to dry with a dehumidifier too. My dryer broke over a year ago and I decided to just see how long I could go without it….it’s been almost 2 years. Maybe I will replace when my washer dies. I only ever used it for linens anyway. Same with my coffee maker. I got a stainless pour over cone for about $12 and never went back. Didn’t feel like replacing the coffee maker was worth the expense, counter space and to add more to the landfill/dump eventually.
Hi Ali - loving the vlogs as always!! What is it with men and having to put the tv on even for a nanosecond if nothing else is happening??!! I thought it was just my husband but after reading some other comments, apparently not!! 🤷♀️🤦♀️🤣. Also YES YES YES regarding A Discovery of Witches!! Its one of my favourite book series and the TV adaptation is fabulous as well. I rewatch it every October!! Xxx
I am loving your autumn vlogs again this year and watch both your channels all year round. Last October you and Dan sent a birthday wish to my granddaughter Olivia . On Sunday 27 October she will become a teenager this year and would love to hear a mention from you again . Carol x
Ha my husband (also called Dan!) did that too with the TV, drove me crazy sometimes lol. Now its me with the tv on a lot, and yourubes! but i am getting to listening to just audiobooks or music more. We also gave up on replacing the dryer a few years ago and just went back to the old fashioned outdoor clothesline or indoor racks. I do miss it sometimes, might get a portable small one, Te kids are grown so its just my laundry .
You really have the best deal with Mia. Kitty loving and cuteness without the smell of cat litter and the cost of food, litter, and vet bills. She is so sweet. I will take a look at that document of good book suggestions. I have been having a hard time finding things I want to listen to lately.
I was sitting here crocheting away and nearly jumped out my skin when you gave me a shout out 😂. Thanks so much Ali and I hope the bread saving tip works well for Lillia. I needed to change my name from Weediflower because I was experiencing blocks on my socials because it was giving warnings to followers that I might be selling “substances”. The only addictive behaviour I’m guilty of encouraging is crafting 🤣. Loving this episode …..now back to my crochet. Karen
I absolutely loved reading The Light In Hades by Elise Nelson. This is a first book in a series. I think Lilla and you might enjoy it and the cover is stunning!
Yes to the dehumidifier! We have a washer dryer combined machine so do occasionally use it for bedding and towels. But the dehumidifier was a game changer. Does this qualify me as an adult getting excited over laundry drying methods 😂
I really enjoy the months with daily volgs….thank you for welcoming us into your home and lives. I enjoy both your channels as a fellow fiber enthusiast. I was wondering if we could get an update on the casting you did for quiet neighbors? Do you happen to have one to quiet dog barking in the neighborhood?
Thank you very much for all your hard work in making these lovely calming vlogs. I love your content. It really does feel like catching up with a friend. I wanted to ask … I’d like to start crocheting but have no idea where to begin! Could you recommend any TH-camrs/books/patterns which are suitable for beginners please? Thank you x
I really enjoyed this vlog, thank you. You definitely earned that fizz. I’ve been watching you making your Halloween cross stitch with interest, it’s really cute, and it inspired me to start a cross stitch as a gift for Christmas. I bought a kit with a Taylor Swift motif on it, and oh boy, I can’t believe how slow I am with it. I’m trying to set aside some time each day to have it finish time, it is truly every stitch a stitch of love. On the other hand, I listen to my audio book and am totally lost in the moment, it’s so relaxing, maybe it will be a gift for Christmas 25 😂 Take care x
💕😀xx yes Ali. Dehumidifier an ABSOLUTE game changer! Took your advice and we bought another one recently which lives in the airing cupboard and on wet days dries really quickly. We already have one which lives in our caravan in the winter which deals with the damp. Thanks, as always for your vlogs. 🥰
Great drive to work those autumn tints are so beautiful & your lunchtime walks stunning does anyone else walk around the grounds ? Enjoy your double Saturday weekend ( Friday inc ) 😂🤣ps Thank You for the the book spreadsheet
We live in Tasmania which is colder and wetter than the rest of Australia and we don’t use a clothes dryer. I find our clothes last longer. The sun here is fierce here so we don’t hang clothes outside because they get bleached by the sun. It does take a little longer to dry our clothes but they do last longer.
Hi Ali Discovery of witches is a great series of books I bought them all. Then one day my hubby came down with his kindle and said "I think you might like this book" I then presented him with the following two books. We dont usually read the same books just now and again.
Hi Ali, thanks for another great vlog series, I really appreciate your dedication and hard work daily to get this out into the world. I have been meaning to say Lillia can buy her train ticket for the last part of her journey home before she sets off from Her starting station you can buy a ticket for any journey from any station, found this out a few years back when we had a 25 min wait for our connection and always missed an onward train because of queuing to get last ticket, I’m sure someone has told you this already best wishes Frances
Mia is so sweet. I know Lilia is allergic to cats, but there is a cat food (Purina ProPlan Live Clear) that reduces the allergens and makes owning a cat an option for those that are allergic. It’s more expensive but it has worked out great for our family. I know Mia is “not your cat”, lol.
Was all discombobulated when you mentioned my name 😂 Had to take my ear buds out and play it out loud for my hubby 😂. Like a shout out from a celebrity 😂 You made my day 🎉
I had always assumed your half-terms were a short break in between longer holidays. But now you have explained, I see they are what we call school holidays. We have four ten week terms, starting at the end of January and finishing the week before Christmas. There are two weeks' holidays around Easter, in July and September. Our long summer holidays in the Christmas period. Our school holidays are the same throughout the State but vary slightly in timing between States, so the whole country aren't taking holidays at the same time (like they are in summer!).
What a beautifully fungi filled walk! And Mia is indeed very adorable, I always love seeing her. And hello to Dan too, I think I am a Dan Fan 😂 I've been watching old seasons of the great british sewing bee and one of the contestants from season 2 reminds me of Dan, I think they look quite similar. His name is David so even their names are similar. Are you sure Dan doesn't have a secret life as an amateur home sewist? 🤣
October is going too quickly! Love your vlogs. I was browsing for my next read the other day and it suggested Strictly Come Dating by Kathryn Freeman. I haven’t read it but it made me think of you and has some good reviews. Have you read it?

I'm chuckling at the TV watching comments. My boyfriend does it too. He comes over, puts the TV on, then reads the news on his phone, drives me nuts😂
Thank you so much for answering my iMovie question ☺️ I loved how you held your glass up for that segment 😆 I obviously found it interesting 😄

So kind of you to offer to finish Phoebe’s caramel biscuit 😉😂
Phoebe’s nails look beautiful. The glass during the iMovie explanation still has me giggling. 😂 Hi to Dan. Love your videos Ali. Cheers Chris 🇦🇺😁

You’re so lucky to have a visiting cat. A perfect arrangement. I love cats, used to have cats but now I do not.
Enjoying your vlogs so much..hello Dan👋...so nice to see Lillia again😊...hard when they grow up and become so independent

Hi Ali ! Thank u 4 answering me, that's so kind of u & ur family. I currently have 3 indoor only cats so I understand. The 3 are all senior 😺😸
Your jumper matches your car seats ❤, feet up with wine watching the vlog. 😊
😀💕xx thanks Ali. Thanks so much to Jessica for that amazing list🥰
I love A Discovery of Witches. I am currently rewatching the show, you should watch it after if you like the books. 🙂

Life without tv is great, I can vouch for it,
Hi Ali, if you do an extra spin, your washing will dry faster (I read 6hrs saving). Hope this helps ❤
You may enjoy lentil and potato soup as well Ali. 😊
My partner also puts the tv on drives me nuts the background noise, definitely a man thing 😂
I sit in a different room to watch tv because my husband has it WAY TOO LOUD!
When you have tinnitus silence is not golden, just saying.
Dehumidifier always for drying clothes. I don’t own a tumble dryer
Like Dan, my husband has to have the TV on. Drives me crazy - he'll fall asleep while I put on my noise cancelling headphones.
October is going too quickly! Love your vlogs. I was browsing for my next read the other day and it suggested Strictly Come Dating by Kathryn Freeman. I haven’t read it but it made me think of you and has some good reviews. Have you read it?
My husband also has the tv on all the time…think it’s just a habit men get into…and yes it’s annoying.
Think you’d like it in my neck of the woods. Semi rural village, can walk to Delamere Forest, and just eight miles from Chester….another world compared to Liverpool where we were both born & raised..xx
i had recommended The Wedding People by Alison Espach but it’s not on the list. can you add that one. it’s so good!!!
Love my dehumidifier. Don’t think I’ve had a tumble dryer in 40 years. You can’t move until Mia has crossed rainbow bridge as she would be lost without you.We have a Cockapoo and a a kitty. The cat was here first but now has to ‘live’ upstairs as she gets no peace with Jeffrey (dog). Interestingly I am reliably informed that she has several stopping off points in the neighbourhood. 🤔x
Discovery of witches is also a Netflix series, my husband and I are really enjoying it so far.
Always enjoy..
Ali, my husband is the same, always got the to on, I hate it. We are both retired now, hence we spend a lot of time in different rooms. 😂😂 Thank you for your vlogs, they save me from dreadful tv. ❤
Hello, Ali. I would love to know the title and artist of the music in today's video. It's my favourite of the pieces that you add to your vlogs.
#DanFan :)
Since your mind will think Friday is Saturday it will be like you're getting a surprise free day yay 😄 Bonus, this weekend is DST.
❤❤❤
Hi Ali, Can I ask what did you sprinkle on your tomato soup? Thank you
I think you would enjoy the book, You Are Here by David Nicholls a romance set on a hike from the Irish Sea to the North Sea. He wrote One Day which is on Netflix.
The salt path by Raynor Winn one of by best reads
Great video.
Just FYI: I paid $129 for a repairman to show me how to spread the prongs apart on my dryer so that it would heat again. He said the prongs sometimes lose contact inside the wall plug. I understand using the dehumidifier, tho.
Have you seen Davina at Little Workroom Crafts vlog today? You HAVE to see her new tattoo 😃
I have a vlog idea I think we would all enjoy ; ) We can submit questions for Dan 💕 and then you can interview him...dreamy💗
your passenger was really noticeable in the car today
Ali you can’t move in Mia s lifetime Bless her
Do you think you will acquire your own cat once Mia is no longer able to visit?
P.S…. Of course you do realise that you cannot move while Mia is part of your family …… or you will have to take her with you. 🤭❤
It must be a man thing always wanting the TV on. My husband does the same thing. He will leave and go outside, leaves it on! So annoying.
