Brave sewist! I made a deal with sewing machines years ago. We stay far away from each other, and the universe remains balanced--more or less! Your mending jobs were excellent. Years ago I heard a saying, "it will never show on a galloping horse'. I use that saying often. So...your bag tabs will never show on a galloping horse. Have a lovely weekend.
I am just like you with sewing! I have bags cut out but because it’s such a nuisance to get everything out and put it all away again, I just can’t be bothered! I used to have a craft room but alas no more! Your crazy IKEA fabric ones are brilliant! Love them! X
Hi Ali! Congratulations for finishing up on your “Doggy Bags”‼️ Hint: I always want my zippered bags to stand on their own, so I go to my local hardware store and have them cut a clear piece of acrylic that fits the bottom measurements. I file the corners to prevent tearing the inside fabric, and my bags stand up and keep their shape. No more sagging!
We had a lava lamp in our first home in the 70s and I wish we still had it. I also remember using the old black telephones in my first job at Mather & Platt in Manchester. The handset on those phones is really heavy so you didn’t want to be having long phone conversations.
Thanks for the great vlogtober. You inspired me to look through my fix it basket, and I fixed a button on my husband's coat along with some other things and it is now empty. Thanks for the inspiration
I don't have a dedicated sewing area either. I know what you mean about having to get everything out and then put it away again. Love the dodgy bags. I have some little Christmas bags to make. I'm looking at the material now! I also have a telephone like that somewhere in the loft. My first husband worked for PO telephones then BT and bought one home. He did have it working at one time although I think it was a bit crackly.
I love all your sewing and totally understand the feeling when you get all the jobs done, especially when you really didn’t want to do them!! Sounds like you had a perfect Friday 😊
Aww that’s so lovely you’re watching my crochet podcast ☺️ and I’m glad it’s brought back your ‘crojo’ 😄 one of my aims of starting a crochet channel is to inspire people to crochet 🥰
I love your dodgy bags! I have been trying to teach myself how to hand sew because I can’t afford a sewing machine at this time and I have started with making a bag with a jelly roll that I bought a long time at Michael’s. I am doing it in a log cabin sort of pattern to get lots of practice and will put it together with a lining when I get it big enough for a project bag. Then I am thinking of making it into a drawstring bag.
Ask around…many of us who sew often have an old machine sitting around. Or go to a store that sells ones that were traded in for new ones. My thrift shop sells sewing machines that they’ve checked out first..try some places near you!
❤a very productive day!!!🎉🎉 Wow,,,the dodgey bags are so great,,love the fabric,,,🎉 I have one of ur dodgey bags i won from a dodgey bag mal a few years ago,,,have socks in it for strickly,,,love 💞💕💕 Elaine🍁🍄🏠
Your project bags look really great. I wouldn't have a clue where to start with sewing.. hubby sews on buttons and little repair jobs. His mother taught him well . Ooooohhhh, to have your own dedicated craft room. I would love to have that too!! One like Sandras at Cherry Heart would do me just fine!😁
Hi Ali id just b glad i could sew like you.I wouldn't mine taking the machine in and out if i could sew like you.God gave you a gift use it just like your drawing..Take care..love watching ppl. Sew its magic from a piece of cloth magic..
Ali , the bags look awesome 👌 The fabric is cute , love it . What nice to be off together , good to see Dan again to . Do you send your pins international , I would love one but live in the USA . See you tomorrow ❤
Using a sharpie to colour the thread 🤣🤣🙈🤭 love it and love your Dodgy bags. I have made a few for myself as I love them so much. Brillo viewing. - thanks Ali.❤
Lovely to see your sewing and the cute bags you've been making. I love the pink and yellow IKEA one!!! And great ideas for making them more useful to you too. As for Rush Hour, I looooooove it!!! My husband doesn't see the appeal but I love them and the outtakes make them even funnier too x
Nice sewing, now I think I should have a look through some of my to do sewing ufo’s. your dodgy bags look great. Enjoying these vlogtobers so much, thanks Ali.
Hi Ali I recently bought a lava lamp on a boot sale. I've been wanting one for ages. This one is really pretty as it's blue and turquoise bubbles inside. When my lovely neighbour saw it, he said oh I've got one too and we never use it, hang on...within a few minutes there was another one glowing nicely in my kitchen with gold glitter floating about inside😀. Love the whacky dodgy bags, they're cool😂and what a great way to re purpose bags you no longer use. Great idea! I think Dan just loves to appear in your videos as much as your viewers like him too😃so funny when you hid him behind your hand😂 see you tomorrow❤
Well didn’t you do well Ali with clearing the mending sewing pile 👏 now this question is quite random, I thought maybe you could make a peg bag out of one of your bags, but then I thought I have never seen you hang out washing, or seen a washing line, do you hang out washing? 😆 we hang out washing in the spring, summer though not much this year, we have had just a few dry days here in the S/W but we have had a dehumidifier for many years and a electric drying contraption which together work very well, like you I would not be without the dehumidifier. Love & Hugs, Suze. 👛🪡🧵🍕🤗 xxx
I don't have a craft room either, Ali. I craft at the dining room table. I have a Cath Kidston mug in the same pattern as your bag. You're lucky you can eat nuts--they give me indigestion!
Does your rotary phone still work? When I was a child, we had those, but they had numbers, not letters. How exactly would you dial a phone number, or would you dial a name instead?
My g.f. tried to teach her grandaughter how to use the old phone she couldnt figure out it works ut was hysterical like u think it was from the stone age .funny..

Great day of sewing.....we need to do one of those some day soon! 💚

I am now feeling very encouraged to get my sewing machine out...

You have taken me back. My Mom used to toast walnuts in a skillet with butter. Now I need some toasted walnuts. 😆
I have such a large sewing pile to do and just bad a week off, couldn't be bothered to get it done.
Thank you for another lovely podcast, Ali. Are you making another blanket like the one you made for Lilia? x
I love all your sewing and totally understand the feeling when you get all the jobs done, especially when you really didn’t want to do them!! Sounds like you had a perfect Friday 😊

Hi! I was wondering if you might convert one of the large project bags into a roll top design? Just a thought 💭
I don't have a craft room either, Ali. I craft at the dining room table. I have a Cath Kidston mug in the same pattern as your bag. You're lucky you can eat nuts--they give me indigestion!
I like your thinking on repurposed items.
love the dodgy bags & your shirt, very cute
Love the Rush Hour movies! I also get a weird feeling if I have too many walnuts 😅
I would use your striped bag as is and use it as a knitting \crochet project bag. Same for the cute blue one. No reason to redo them.
Ok quick question what did you put with your carrots on your wrap
Does your rotary phone still work? When I was a child, we had those, but they had numbers, not letters. How exactly would you dial a phone number, or would you dial a name instead?
I have a designated sewing desk and a designated card making desk and both are full of dodgy crap! Xx
Love these videos.
Do you put tomato sauce on your pizza base?
Hi Ali, I can’t seem to find the pizza dough recipe. Please could you point me in the right direction 😊. Thank you xx
❤❤❤
My g.f. tried to teach her grandaughter how to use the old phone she couldnt figure out it works ut was hysterical like u think it was from the stone age .funny..
You make me smile for so many reasons Ali 🌟 I’m so impressed by your sewing skills and love love that you recycled the girls school shirts. 🪡
❤ the first time I watched your vlog, definately will watch again ❤ nice dodgy bags ❤

Your bags look great! I’d have a machine set up in a corner of my bedroom if I had a small house! Gets used daily!
