Great video combining the analysis of how and why you may come off your bike with useful how to fit instructions. I now understand how a "highside" happens! Thanks Mike
New subscriber here. Just got my 2022 Himi and was wondering about engine guards. This video certainly helps, aye! Getting back into the biking world after 31 years. Will be doing a long trip West to East Canada next summer.

Across from the derelict burns pub . Lovely breaky and lovely village . Keep the vlogs comming . Every days a school day . Youve learned me loads . Cheers
I recently purchased a Scram 411, and the previous owner had already installed those same Givi engine guards. Up until this video, I had been wondering why they made that choice; particularly since the few other mods (e.g. TEC camshaft, exhaust, mirrors) appeared well thought out by the PO. Has anybody seen folding highway pegs that fit those guards? I frequently get leg cramps, and would like to be able to stretch-out on long straightaways.
I had the Givi engine bars fitted prior to picking up my 2021 Himmy as i thought they looked the most robust and better built ..If my memory fails me, i think they cost £1 more than RE? 😁
Really lol. Ayr guess the price difference isn't much. You can get it cheaper if you buy the kappa version which is exactly the same thing. Even comes with the givi packaging lol
Sorry I seem to have missed this earlier. The guard sits about 45 mil out from the front face of the filter cover so there is room to get it off without removing the engine guard. If in doubt though or you need more room you can loosen the guard in no more than a few minutes.

Confirmed the reasoning behind my choice for the \himmie arriving on Monday! Thanks. Love the analogies. :-)
Great I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Definitely your best video so far pal, thought for a moment you were going into full mad dog sensei mode when you started the river analogy 👍
Cheers mate. My Sensei days are long gone lol. Senseless more like 👍

Thanks for all the info, great video ! :)
Thanks Pierre glad you like it mate. Thanks for watching I really appreciate it 👍
Check out SRC Moto engine guards. Same mounting points, but look way smarter than those imo.
Sure the src mounts are nice 👍

Looks neat
Thank you there are alot of good engine guards on the market. Many different styles but I like how tough these are and the simplicity.
To change the oil filter do you need to remove the guard?

Mate easy choice, don't drop the bike!
Haha aye that's absolutely the best option Michael 👍
Just installed these on my 2023 himalayan, the pipe on the reservoir isnt long enough to use the bracket to move the reservoir
Unless you get boot lace wrapped around a foot peg at the lights. The good news is you only do that the once haha. 👍
Yep best not do that too often Waine 😂
😂
