    TEC camshaft single greatest mod for me. Simple installation and has transformed the bike’s performance without sacrificing flexibility. More torque and more horsepower - what’s not to love.

    I haven't received mine yet. I was given one today by an old friend. He bought one for me and a mutual friend. We have ridden Harley's for years together all over the country. He has one in his collection that he tought we would like where we live in the countryside. I have smaller scooter's overseas that I ride all over as well as larger motorcycles. Just got back from Thailand that I did an eighteen day Harley ride that we do over there. I saw the Himalayan over there as well. Would like to get on for Vietnam to cruise around there. I had a Suzuki 400 DRZ over there that was a blast, I think this would be so much better. Looking forward to watching more of your videos.

    I would add, bracing bar for the handlebars as the originals are made from cheese, the rear rack also made from the same cheese, loads of reports of snapped racks and handlebars that bend when the bike is dropped. TEC parts camshaft too.

    Some awesome suggestions with your accessories and improvements. I’m thinking of selling my Classic 500 (as much as I’ll maybe regret that) to buy a friends Himalayan that he just can no longer keep. So while I’m always a fan of your videos anyway, now they related to me even more so than ever.
    Also, very weird, I am no longer subscribed to your channel. I know this has been happening lately. I recall Jess from Her Two Wheels also noticed this. Anyway, resubscribing now!

    Thought those handlebar risers would come up. I´ve yet just had a chance to sit on one of those Himalayans and immediately thought "risers". Almost 6,1 in your measurements (184cm) so no giant but the handlebars was a bit low even if it otherwise felt ok. Not able to decide for the moment what I want from my next bike but different is quite high up on my list. I´ve had cruisers since 2009, before that it was sportsbikes so a novice with ADV "ish" bikes like that one. Had one enduro (a Kawa) for a while in the seventies but going fast was more fun in those days so that bike did not be mine for long. So a Himalayan would be different, need to try one.

    Great video. Here in the UK there are plenty of upholsterers who will modify your existing seat for very reasonable money and cheaper than a new seat. I know people who have had gel inserts for comfort, height added or height removed. There must be similar in the USA

    My friends the Davidsons at Sprocket and Hub's in Adare, Co Limerick lent me a Himalayan fir a Royal Enfielder's Ireland camp. A lovely engine and handled well but the seat was uncomfortable for a 6 foot 3" chap, a good friend Ger Duhig bought a new bike and had the seat raised and levelled. Now is a perfect bike.

    Hello, have you been able to test/verify if the Givi engine guards protects the gear lever if you drop the bike. Thanks a million.

    • @OlManRonin
      @OlManRonin  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Are you asking if I dumped my bike lol Any piece of hardware that sticks out always has a possibility of being damaged. Even if it was encased inside of the metal guard, if a rock, log, or any obstruction that sticks out has the potential of causing damage. I would say the Givi guard works as well as I could ever ask a guard to do, but there are zero guarantees if you catch my drift???

  • @jeffs7139
    @jeffs7139 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Jeff, I've pretty much have all the same mods but the seat.(only have 31" inseam)
    However, make sure the hand guards are really tight, I barely brushed against my Himalayan and because of their kickstand being to long, the bike tipped over in the garage and the hand guard rotated up allowing the front brake lever to hit the cement floor and bending !
    I realize they make a shorter kickstand, (allowing more lean) but just a word of caution about the hand guards.

    • @OlManRonin
      @OlManRonin  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      centerstand?

    • @jeffs7139
      @jeffs7139 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@OlManRonin
      no, the centerstand is fine. It's the kick stand/ side stand that makes it stand to upright. There's an aftermarket one that is about 1/2" shorter to let the bike lean over to the left more. Thought about cutting mine down and welding a larger foot on it.

    The left part protrudes and continuously hits the left ankle.

    When you added the risers were you able to use the OEM cables or did you have to add longer cables? When I added beach bars to my Road King I had to rewire my throttle, though the Clutch and front brake cables were long enough the throttle by wire wasn't. Looking good. Stay safe and ride hard!
