Thanks for reviewing this song on my birthday Jesse (this is max) this is one of my favorite songs in a video game ever. I'm glad you like it. This track caught me so off guard when I head it the first time and I have listened to this countless times since. :)

To give some more background for SRW in general: It's been a rpg tactics series that has been around for a very long time - ever since the first brick of a game boy! The mainline games generally feature a giant crossover between a lot of mecha-based media. So you've got Gundams fighting alongside mecha from Mazinger, Code Geass, Macross, Big O, all sorts depending on the game.
The OG series that this song and Dark Prison is from is their own creations with their own themes. Each character usually get their own theme and there tends to be a bunch of them. So you get this wide collection of songs with different styles to them, but they do tend to be pretty upbeat, fast, and most importantly, not directly lifted from other media like anime.
SRW OG themes are fire and there are a ton of really hype tracks in those games.
This track is a remix of The Moon Knights theme in SRW J (Judgement) on GBA, in which this game (Moon Dwellers), reintroduced characters, mechs, and remix tracks from the original game for the OG timeline/games
Although these tracks are great on their own; To me, it just doesn't fit right unless you want it along with gameplay animations but you're about the track analysis, so it's fine
I've just discovered this channel and am sorta biased cuz you experienced something I wanted to share with others, but you're very thorough and you do those tracks justice with the analysis and enjoyment!

Honestly, this song represents it being an all out war which really fits the theme whenever it's used.

There is also the final boss theme for the relevant group of enemies this theme belongs to... From the same game, under the title Doomsday.
Thinking about it, technically, Jam Project have made some songs for Super Robot Wars games... I think Skill from SRW Alpha 2 would be fun... Maybe Hagane No Messiah from SRW Alpha Gaiden or whichever game it is from... I wouldn't be super upset if you listened to the instrumental versions, but the vocal versions are in the games, if only the title screens or whatever and you'll probably want to experience them. Jam Project is a pretty epic group and worth a reaction if you don't get too much trouble with copyright... If you can't react, just listen to it for yourself lol.

Its not surprising youve never heard of SRW, even if it has been going on for like 30 years. Its a heavily Japanese series, and because as others have mentioned, its based around crossovers between different mecha anime and games, so because of stuff like fun licensing rights, the vast majority of the games never came to the west period, the ones that did you could count on one hand. Limited releases, and only the OG(original content only) games at that. Only this last year did SRW 30 come out for Pc and change that I think. Its on steam if you want to check it out

I was just asking if the song Ordeal of the Stars from Etrian Odyssey 5 was on your wait list, again, even if it takes a year, I gotta be there if it is. Any music from that game is amazing mind you.

@@JessesAuditorium Fantastic, I sure hope you enjoy them. If you do, the song I mentioned is an exercise on buildup, which I think isn't always appreciated in music. Unfortunately the OST version and rip don't get to loop, which would've been nice, even if just a single loop. Regardless, I may throw it with a donation and birthday request much later in the year. I just wonder how far ahead I should make the request so it doesn't get in the way.
