I WISH this series was more accessible. It's super hard to really break into on its own, basically the only door into the series lately has been SRW 30 finally bringing the series to shores outside of Asia for the first time since the early 2000s on the GBA (Original Generation 1 and 2). The last few games (X included) WERE "officially" localized in English with the Asia versions, which you would still have to import.
I'm sure many other people have brought this up, but the big reason as to why the series (which has over 40 main entries) hasn't broken outside of Japan for the most part is because practically all of them consist of a mash-up of giant robot anime series like Gundam, Mazinger, Getter Robo, Evangelion, Macross, Voltron, and dozens upon dozens more. The copyright minefield must be a nightmare to navigate, and the barrier to entry is quite high given that most require at least a surface level knowledge of some of these anime to appreciate, so the series is mostly left forgotten as Japan-exclusive.
The games intricately piece together the plots of each included series, all huddled around a main plot that involves original protagonists and antagonists. The games are strategy focused, usually have giant playable rosters of beloved (or hated) characters, route choices that give replays some extra spice, and loads of secrets (some having mind-bendingly difficult requirements you have to keep an eye on for 80% of the game; very frustrating but oh so satisfying when you finally pull it off and get the rewards). Sometimes the games are connected (like the Alpha games or the Z games), though the majority are standalone.
Speaking of the standalone ones, SRW X! One of my personal favorites, as it was super welcoming as my return to the franchise after a sizeable break, with super fun gameplay and a really cool story. Its plot is very high fantasy for a giant robot game, but as it moves forward, therein enters things like time travel and universe hopping alongside the existence of magic. I had just come off of watching Gundam G-Reco and the game actually helped me enjoy the characters a lot more by integrating them into the plot so well. I think it's a great game on its own merits, and knowing just a few of the series included made it a hit for me.
Anyway, I'm a big SRW head, and even moreso a big mecha anime fan. Always love to see the music get more respect!
    Peace!

For boss music in srw to react, "the king's love is for his people" is a must...

Hungry Beasts goes in hard, this will be fun listening to Jesse's reaction to this.
I also enjoy SRW X's version of The Dreadful Visitor.
Context: The Dreadful Visitor is a mainstay theme for the Super Robot Wars series that comes up whenever enemy reinforcements appear. The composition is roughly the same for the majority of SRW but it tends to vary between games.

Hell efiin yeah. Had a feeling you'd enjoy this one. The Super Robot Wars series dabbles into a lot of different genres of music. Pretty sure they've even managed to give two characters Samba themes which is definitely something, I tell ya what.
This is one of the few pure metal themes they've done (As far as I can remember. The series is pretty vast) and it just struck a chord with me from jump.
The music producer/director for this particular game is Takanori Arima and the composers are Toshiyuki Kishi and Hiromi Mituzani. None of them are Super Robot Wars regulars and I don't think they've done music for any game besides this one (As far as I can remember). But all three have composed several tracks for Dragon Ball FighterZ, as well as a bunch of other dragon ball games.

SRW was a big part of my developing a love for video game music. I heard some banger tracks on the GBA as a kid, but the SRW: OG Saga was the first time 10-year-old me was really hit by a track so hard that I actually stopped and listened to the music. After that, I started paying attention to the music of a game much more closely and I'm so glad I did.

Absolutely banger track and it's sad that not many will know of it because they often refuse to bring Super Robot Wars as a series to the West (despite translating it into English most of the time) because mecha aren't super popular. Super Robot Wars will feature mechas from Gundam to Code Geass to some even having Gurren Lagann as well as originals and other series. The ultimate mecha crossover series, basically!

Refusal not likely, the games have 2 dozen different properties that have landed in various hands in the west for distribution that they would need to talk to to even get the game out which they already did in japan so doing it for other countries is a nightmare. Japan is a bit easier because the built up reputation that basically anyone who makes mecha there knows the series and thus a higher likelihood to make the whole discussion process smoother

To put some simple context for what you're seeing on your screen of the video @Jesse's Auditorium
Ende The Devourer, disguising itself as Ende, the God of Wisdom & the creator of Al-Warth (the world and setting for SRW X), 'devours' negative emotions to sustain and satiate its existence. If he's not continuous fed, Al-Warth will no longer exist.
There's more to it of course as you play through the game but I'm just explaining a simplified version.

Fun bit: in one of the super robot wars games, alpha 3 to be specific, there is a moment where they play that game's theme song in-universe in order to help defeat the bad guy. Its a pretty dope moment.
