there is a warm feeling I get inside when see the train rush by covered in art. in movement, the colors are giving life, the names & characters are living, moving like a part of the city.
This would be an amazing concept/formula for a TH-cam series. Its super effective (amd beautiful) in catching the vibes of many cities. Im sure most would agree! 🤙
Good video and really one of the heavily painted subway lines. You could also try to document subways in Napoli or Athens too, they are heavily painted as well.
im so glad you took this long trip to visit bucharest, romania is actually a fairy tale land and packed with street art . still❤ cant belive someone would come and shoot these pieces of art that were the pinacle of our comunist era and now are metal canvas for so many foreigner writers. much respect for doing this in my city
As a Romanian that visited Bucharest many times this is new to me too 😅. I used to breakdance with my friends while walking around with a boombox and this video took me back in time even tho it was the 2000s ❤. Loved the video ✌️
Haha! I’m glad you like it. I wasn’t sure how people who live in Romania feel like it. There is only one metro line with these trains remaining. Otherwise, as you know, the entire metro system is squeaky clean. These are just so fascinating to me. I’m glad it could bring you back! I wish I would see someone breakdancing with a boombox next to these or on the train - talk about a dream photograph haha. ✌️
Hi again,im a street photographer from Romania(Bucharest is my hometown) .I live in London(UK) since 2016.I discover your channel and your work because of Japan..I go in Japan every year for street photo..im so happy that you was in Romania.
Thanks so much for writing. That’s cool that you discovered the Japan video first and then saw the Romania after. We loved Bucharest. Can’t wait to go back! 🙌
@@Visions_in_Toyko Haha! I agree. Japan would never have that though. I was so surprised how squeaky clean Tokyo was with minimal graffiti. Osaka was a bit grittier though
As a day to day user of that metro line, I just discovered this video and it brings me so much joy to see someone actually talking about it. It is something pretty unique in the city, and your shots and compositions do bring it to life. Keep up the good work!!!!
Jealous that is your day to day train. We literally flew there just to photograph that metro line. It’s truly one-of-a-kind in the world. Thanks so much for the support! I hope to get back to photograph it again before they replace those old Astra IVAs cars
@@illkoncept unfortunately, as the metro lines extends, there have been talks for a year or two to bring new trains on that line (M4) , similar to M2 or M1 lines in Bucharest. The day they bring those, a part of me will day because the old metros have so much personality and give such a vibe that makes it unique in the city. Anyway, I do hope you enjoyed your stay in Bucharest, because the shots you took really touched me and made me smile 💪🤝
Thanks so much man! I struggle with the clarity in those - I think I need to get a better mic. I use Rode Wireless II Gos but it takes a lot of work in EQ to make it sounds usable and I’m still not happy with it. Gonna get a desktop mic in my new apartment
@@illkoncept I have the same issue with my wireless mics. Some people make them sound awesome, but I have no idea how they reach that level of quality. On your video it sounds good, but I totally feel you on that next bump up in the top tear audio. Using my SM7b over other mics is night and day.
Same haha! I love Athens too though. There are pros and cons to both cities for sure. There’s a lot about these Bucharest trains that I didn’t mention that make it tougher to shoot than Athens
Wow! This is incredible! Didn't know this kinda thing still existed, I thought stuff like this would have been cleaned up. Amazingly captured, loved the video and the shots you got.
Thank you! Me either lol. I booked a flight ASAP after I discovered this. Glad others out there appreciate it too. To be fair, most of their metro system is squeaky clean, this is just one short line in the system where the trains will be soon replaced - that’s why they don’t bother cleaning. These trains are from the 70s
every mayor city in almost every country has this going on even if people don't see it. From trains getting bombed in china or Korea to Russia to Chili, all over the place. Theres TONS of videos on YT with live painting of trains and everything.
What an awesome video man, the graffiti there is insane and all really good! I need to visit this city! haha. I lived in Cape Town, SOuth Africa in 2014 and the train graffiti there was so good. every train covered on the cape town metro rail. I used to surf and watch the trains from the water rolling underneath the mountain next to the water and enjoy the view. Teyve since been cleaned up unfortunately but its awesome to see that Citys like this still exist! That was an awesome video, very well produced! thank you man!
I love this video!!! it's like you went back in time to the 80's, it looks so sick!!! 👑🔥👌💎 not a fan of the tagging of the inside but the graffiti on the outside 👌💎
That would be a dream to be honest. I don’t see why they don’t do something like that. It would bring in more people than the holiday nostalgia train lol
Damn, that’s a great idea the MTA should embrace. Some railfans may disagree but a few trains as art commissions from the MTA by graffiti artists, including some of the OG’s, would be huge and an acknowledgement of the graffiti era of the 70s and 80s. So much of it influenced art and music (especially hip hop). It’s culture.
@@97nelsn For real!! Totally agree. It's also a shame that the NYC Transit Museum didn't save any of those graffiti cars like they did the other eras. Can you imagine how many more visitors would come to their museum if they kept a few of those classic train cars? Would be amazing to have like a hip-hop anniversary train week like they do the holiday nostalgia train... So sad that they literally dumped them all in the Atlantic Ocean lmfao. What a crime

@@illkoncept I don't think these trains will be replaced until 2030 for sure. First they have to build the M4 full, and M6 - connection of Airport with train station Gara de Nord
