An NYC train is the Holy Grail for all real writers. Respect. It's a shame that the styles are so bad. Why don't these European writers look at Subway Art as a starting point for letter formation? These pieces look like they were done by a 3 year old and would have been laughed at back in the 80s. Why has train style regressed so much and why don't these writers even know about the fundamentals of lettering style and proportion? A blockbuster or even a throw up has more style than these pieces. Of course, maximum kudos and bravo for the risk taken to pull this off. It's a weird paradox that the writers like these who have the balls to take risks and paint trains are completely unaware of one of the main elements of the culture - lettering style. This is why Dondi was a King and others were not. (BTW I was part of the first generation of UK train writers and the first ever to be sent to prison for it).
I kind of agree, but what I've noticed is that european and mostly german style is vastly different from classic graffiti for the most part, especially in my area writers play around with the structure very much, and sometimes it just doesn't look as good. obviously I don't have your experience so maybe you know more than i do
